I vote for California Grill! Although I haven't done Jiko yet. And CRT is nice to experience once if you really want to eat in the castle, but food is not impressive.

I wouldn't book a value resort unless it's cheaper than the Best Western, especially if your mom and brother may not be interested in the dining plan. I agree with the PP that you could easily stay at or under $42/day without it. Have a great trip if you do go!

Definitely agree it's poorly designed! Plus there are so many profile photos that are either sideways or upside-down. What's up with that???

I think the fact that he's unsure now about wanting to deal with kids is pretty telling, even if he was involved with them previously. I wouldn't put too much faith in that he ever will. I say move on.

It got down to about mid-50s on Monday night and wearing a fleece jacket and jeans kept me warm just enough to be comfortable while walking around, but standing in place felt a bit chilly.

I thought the same, but it was pretty subtle (and like you, I'm not always that observant on rides!). It looked like a couple areas were more brightly-lit and sort of empty-looking, as if they might be adding more stuff in those areas. Is that what you noticed as well?

I was there on Monday and thought they looked new, too. Definitely no more bumpiness at the loading dock, which was a relief. And back rows were all empty. I'm going again next Wed, so will try to take photos.

Sure, if you can swing one night, then totally do it! But then you'll be hooked like the rest of us and always stay onsite. :P

I agree that you will not get sick of WDW for 5 days! There is just so much to do. However, I love Animal Kingdom, as I'm not a huge fan of zoos, although it's been years since I've been to San Diego (and I don't like LA Zoo). But the safari ride and theming at AK is brilliant and so detailed...

Yep, as Sue says above, WDW is huge compared to DLR, but you'll be able to experience a lot in 5 days, especially if you plan well. Check out the dining options on the WDW website to see if there are restaurants you are definitely interested in going to and see what's available while you're...

Congrats and lucky you! I'm also a DL AP holder and I've been to WDW about 5 times now, so I know a lot but not as much as many people on this forum. How long is your trip? So you've only booked lodging far? If so, where are you staying? Have you booked ADRs?

Another vote for California Grill! It was by far the best meal of our trip in July. Food, atmosphere, service, decor, all surpassed Narcoossee's by a huge margin. I think since it was our first visit, they sat us by a window and our waiter told us to take our time so we can watch Wishes as well...

I'm also hoping to go in January, most likely 24-31, definitely solo!

I am seriously contemplating going solo January 24-31 for my birthday. Just need to pull the trigger. :P
