I saw the huge Snickers and Hershey's bar at Target. I thought I also saw the Kit Kat and Reese's cup there too. They were all around $10. We have a local international market that sells the regular size green tea Kit Kats. They are very addicting :)

You can totally make it without a candy thermometer... I just find it easier and I get more consistent results. When I first started making toffee years ago, I had a hard time judging when it was done by the color. I've also found a thermometer helpful since we often make it when visiting...

I like to give a jar of baking mix or soup mix. You can get canning jars at the dollar store and I usually have most of the ingredients in my kitchen to fill them with. Attach a ribbon and a 3x5 card with cooking instructions and you've got a cute gift.

That's just one of the restrictions of the test. It only lets you book for the first 7 days of your trip. Once you start your trip, the 7 days will continue to move forward. So if you want to book for later in your trip, you'll have to wait until you're 7 days away.

So you already booked one BOG FP+ ? There is a restriction that it limits you to only one reservation. Others with AP's have said they haven't been able to make a 2nd reservation in Dec since they already had one back in September. I thought I saw some say they got around it, but I'm not sure.

No, it's a separate system. That's why it's a good idea to take a screen shot or printout of the reservation on the BOG FP+ website....just in case you need to show or refer to it.

I just saw today at Officemax: $10 off a purchase of a $50 itunes gift card.

They are referring to calling any one of the three credit bureaus...Experian, Transunion or Equifax. By calling one, they will notify the other 2 bureaus. If you used any credit cards, I would suggest calling your credit card company and asking for a new card with a new number just to be safe...

Just to confirm - even if you preorder, you do not pay until you arrive. We preordered and were ushered into the cashier line. I asked the CM if there was a different line for preorders and he said no, you still have to pay/check out at the cashier. I was just there last Friday on 12/13.
