Blizzard Beach vs. Typhoon Lagoon vs. Volcano Bay

We did all 3 of those in one week this summer. Both kids and I agree that Typhoon Lagoon was our favorite. We loved the wave pool there, the overall vibe, Crush'n Gusher, and the new family raft one that I can't remember the name of. We liked Volcano Bay a lot, but it was swamped and crazy and...

Photopass at the water parks this summer?

We went in late June and it was very hit and miss. We did Misadventure Falls 5x total and never had a photographer, Crushin' Gusher 4x with a photographer only once, etc. I wouldn't bank on there being a photographer at any given moment.

    Waterpark changing rooms?

The changing rooms are very basic- really just a place to rinse off and change. You'll need to bring supplies if you want to really take a shower, etc. If you are staying on Disney property, you can get towels for free at the towel rental stations.

Water Parks: holding a camera on rides?

We took the digital one from Costco and had no trouble taking it on any rides. I recommend getting a floating wristband (there are tons on Amazon, very cheap) so that if you lose it, the band will float to the top and show you where your camera is.

Volcano Bay Review -- split personality park

We visited both Disney waterparks during this last trip, in addition to Volcano Bay, and we never waited more than 20m for a slide of any kind at the Disney waterparks. We got there at opening and left each day by 4p and everyone had done everything they wanted to do - usually multiple times...

Volcano Bay Review -- split personality park

We also encountered significant waits after our virtual lines. We waited in a 120m virtual like for the coaster one (Krakatoa) only to then wait in a 40 minute line to actually get on the ride. I really didn't like the TapuTapu system. I get what they are going for, and maybe once attendance...

Commando touring with an 8yr old

It also really depends on time of year. We went for the first time in June this year (we've had some changes and can't tour in the "off-season" anymore) and the heat was tough. My kids, who could happily rope-drop and close down MK in other months, were exhausted by 3p. We didn't see a single...

    VOLCANO BAY.....INFO AND QUESTION THREAD........

We were there on 6/28. I am inclined to think it was a staff issue, because many others on this thread have been able to do the Ride Now ones without tapping out of their current line, but we had several staffers that day who absolutely would not let us do that. It definitely reduced the number...

Size restrictions on Universal rides - annoying!

I am 5'9", 250 pounds, wear a women's 20, and a 46G bra size. I carry my weight in my chest and stomach. As embarrassing as those stats are to report, I wanted to share them b/c I had absolutely no trouble riding anything at Universal. I used modified seating when available and needed the...

Flight of Passage + People of Size = Disappointing

I am 5'9", 250 pounds, wear a women's 20, with 19" calves (super muscular) and a 46G bra size. I carry my weight in my chest and stomach. As embarrassing as those stats are to report, I wanted to share them b/c I had absolutely no trouble fitting into FoP. If you are top-heavy like me, if you...

First time to Universal - How much time do we need?

We did 3 days and 1 day at Volcano Bay. 1 days we ONLY did Harry Potter stuff - that took us until like 3p and then we took a break for the rest of the day. We then devoted one day each to IoA and US. Each day, we were done before dinner, having ridden everything we wanted and many things...

    VOLCANO BAY.....INFO AND QUESTION THREAD........

We were absolutely not allowed to do this. The people stationed at the entrance/totems at the line would NOT let us do so.

Not being judgmental just trying to justify a pipe dream

I spend most of my time in the parks, so I can't justify deluxe anymore. We were lucky enough to stay at the Contemporary when my ex-husband was in Orlando for a conference, and while I loved it - the location is just so convenient - if I had to pay 100% out of pocket I can't imagine I would...

    VOLCANO BAY.....INFO AND QUESTION THREAD........

Here's my little mini-review. We went on Weds - early admission for staying onsite, but we missed the 7a bus from RP so we didn't get to Volcano Bay until right at 8. Even with getting there right at opening, it was packed and lines were long. Over the course of the day, we did Krakatoa twice...

Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

Hey guys, just wanted to tell this story in case it might help someone. We had a CBR Preferred Room booked - 5 people in the room. We were driving down to Disney and at about 1p, I got a phone call from someone at CBR. He said that they were having room inventory issues and did not have a room...

ROYAL PACIFIC RESORT INFO...FAQ and more......

We just completed a stay at RP and we were completely underwhelmed. Check in was atrocious - you have to talk to a handful of different people to get checked into the room, get bell services situated, get your park tickets (even if pre-paid,) get your express passes, etc. The whole process...

What character would you love to meet but never have?

I would love to meet Ursula. Heck, I would love to PLAY Ursula - I'm not built to be a princess but I could do Ursula! LOL

"World of Dance" going on while I am there...

Just found out via another group that there's a giant dance convention/competition that will be doing on the whole time we're at WDW next week. I know they are staying at CBR (as well as prob other resorts) which is where we are staying, and they are doing parades in MK and Epcot. Is there ANY...

Please tell me about the late June thunderstorms?

Oh man. Here's hoping it goes back to more typical stuff soon. This will be the last trip to WDW I can afford for a long while and I am hoping it make it a great one. I am not worried about my kids hanging in there, but I am also taking my parents and they are a little less go-with-the-flow...
