Hi everyone, I'm new here. My name is Sandy, I am married and I have 2 daughters (14 and 4). I spent my honeymoon at Disney in 2000, took my older daughter in 2003 and now we are going to be there July 5-12, 2010.

I am so excited to be going back! We are celebrating my youngest daughters birthday while we are there, she will turn 5 during our week stay. We are having breakfast with the princesses for her birthday (a surprise) at Epcot, and both girls will be transformed into princesses the afternoon we get there at Bibbiti Bobbidi Boutique, and we recently decided to upgrade our resort to the New Orleans River Side (from all stars movies), which I'm very excited about.

I'm ready to burst with disney excitement!!!!:cloud9:
Welcome to the DIS and July!:)

Just made some last minute changes! Spent a good amount of time going over my itinerary, almost as if I was trying to find a place to make changes! So I moved my Wishes Dessert party from 7/7 to 7/5. I had many reasons, all of which sound completely crazy so I'm not even going to try to explain, but believe me, it makes complete sense!

I also added dinner at Boatwrights on the 5th. I've stayed at POR so many times, even more times when it was Dixie Landings, and I've never eaten at Boatwrights. It seemed to fit on this night so we booked it! It's at 5:50. Then we'll head to the MK for the dessert party.
I think I have some changes in my future, too. DH and I have decided to give up the WIshes cruise for July 4th, I think. It's just too much $$ and I think we will head to Epcot for Illuminations. Stay tuned for more ADR changes!;):lmao:
Booked a last minute quick trip to meet up with my brother and his family at All Star Movies from 6/30 to 7/4! Got to love booking a trip and then only having to wait 28 days to go  A little nervous about crowds, though. We're used to going in September and late April and this will be the first time we have ever been in the summer. Hoping it's not as bad as I always imagined:confused:
How exciting! Out last trip was in July and I was nervous about crowds, too. Yes, it's busier than Sept and Feb, but it was very doable for us. We did rope drop in the morning, took an afternoon break to swim/ shower, then headed out for dinner and/or back to a park for the evening.

Congrats- I loved CSR

I know! I made another ADR switch today! I can't stop!!!

If you are in Epcot around 3:30 on the 4th, we are planning to meet somewhere in France!

I agree - CSR is on my list too. DEFINITELY stop by on the 4th at Epcot. There is an area of benches just to the right after you cross the bridge from England - I thought that might be a good place.

I will be making some changes as soon as we decide if we are moving our vacation up by a few days.....I told DH, we need a decision by this Friday.

We are in the process of making our ADR's and I have changed them several times...just can't seem to help it!! We looked into a Wishes cruise for our July stay and it was just too expensive. We will be watching the fireworks from the beach....not a bad alternative :)

I usually do my ADRs and leave them alone, but not this year -lol!

Watching the fireworks from the beach is a great alternative - we did that several times last year at the Poly.

tinkerbell-Don't shoot me but DH upgraded us again yesterday. He's decided to give a deluxe a shot, so we wanted either CR or BC, and there was no Pin Code availability at BC soooooooo it will be CR for us!!!

Of course I will keep trying to call EVERY week and see if the BC becomes available, but if not I will be happy to try CR. I just don't want to be dissapointed with CR since I had BC stuck in my head. (DH thinks I'm nuts, and he is correct but I can't let him know that :rotfl:)

Now I'm thinking of giving RideMax a try since it's going to be so busy, we usually like to wing it, but I think that would be a mistake!!!

Oh I remember those days from living in North Wales. I couldn't believe we finished school so late, but those 1/2 term and term breaks were awfully nice! Are you anywhere close to Ayr? That's where my grandfather is from.

Probably about an hour and 15 mins drive from Ayr. My Mum's twin lives about 10 miles or so from Ayr so we spend many childhood holidays down that way!

I most certainly will NOT shoot you -:lmao: I think it is great that you are trying out a Deluxe - but I warn you, it might spoil you. I made the change on page 136.

Now, JMHO - we have stayed both places, and they both have their pros and cons. We love Epcot and BC is so convenient - to Epcot and DHS. I love the activity over at the Boardwalk too. SAB is a great pool. Lots of restaurants over there too, especially Beaches and Cream (which does not take ADRs). BUT, we stayed there in a standard room - the room was a LONG walk from the lobby and we had a view of a roof. (I can try to post that picture, but I think it is over on the worst room view thread somewhere). The rooms at the Contemporary are bigger. It is very convenient to MK and not too bad to Epcot with the monorail. Your room is not far from the "food court". I love watching the boats out on the lakes at the CR. You are also convenient to the other resort restaurants on the monorail - and over at WL and Ft. Wilderness. There are a lot of other activities at Ft. Wilderness and it is just a short boat ride away.

Hope that helps. I am sure you will love either place.

Yay for you :banana: We'll be there at the same time! We went deluxe this time too, but had to go with a 'cheaper' deluxe for financial reasons. We've stayed at CR twice (once in the garden rooms and once in the tower with a MK view :lovestruc,) but never at Beach Club. I've always wanted to stay there  No matter what ends up happening, you'll be in WDW and you'll have a GREAT time! Just think, if you don't get Beach Club this time, it's an excuse to 'have' to go back again soon :thumbsup2

As I was reading the dis..just now...my dad said UPS just rang with an enveloppe. It was ................... our DME tags!

Hey, I just tried to make a ressie for July 14th in the evening (Date Night -- parenst are babysitting!!!:cool1:) at one of the signature restaurants and had lots of options to choose from.

Could this be a sign that it's not too crowded? Or just no one wants to spend that kind of money :rotfl2:

Also, I just checked park hours again and MK is still showing 9am openings for July (week of 11th).

Yeah I keep checking the calendar too, thinking the hours will change for early July since I heard they changed last minute for June. A lot of 10pm closings which is surprising because I remember a few years ago, MK closing at midnight some nights, even in later July.

what time would the park open during the summer?

isn't 9am the usual time with 8am when it's EMH?

JMHO about CR and BC. We stayed in the DVC end of BC which i believe is the farthest from the lobby. also we've stayed in CR (pre-renovations). BC to me has a more resort feel to it. CR has a more hotel feel. Although the walk at BC was long down the hallways to the lobby it was pleasant and passed quickly. Also I like the food choices there and next door at Yacht club. Plus the CS at BC is better to me. especially for breakfast. Definitely the pool is better. Now at CR you have more lake activities that are better. you can rent sea mice at both but using one on that tiny little lake at BC is a tease. CR has that big ole lake you can play around on. Plus the parasailing. Then there's always the monorail. At BC you feel like it takes forever to get to MK and AK on the buses. But you can walk over to Epcot if you have hopper/AP and jump on the monorail.

So long story short we're BC fans.

DHS did change their hours a bit when I checked last week. (They haven't changed again, though.) Some nights moved from an 8 or 9 closing to a 10 pm closing. I keep waiting for the release of second shows of Fantasmic. The June dates have two shows. Only July 1 has two shows currently.

Oh, thanks! I didn't check DHS ...guess I'll go back and check all the dates later this week.

If anyone else notices new times, please report here!:goodvibes

Oh, that's amazing! He emigrated to Montreal when he was 14 and when we were living in Wales we brought him and his brothers over to visit (they hadn't been back since they had left). It was so special to see where they lived and went to school! Beautiful country and I'm very proud of my Hamilton clan lineage!
