Springtime Surprise Weekend 2025 (April 3-6)

I got into the merch area just a little after noon and was able to walk straight into the runDisney Merch area. So my late boarding group ended up being fine. Seemed to have a lot of choices, which was nice to not have to race around the room worried that something I really liked would be out of my size.

Race shirts are a little smaller, glad I did XXL. I’m a bit worried about the size of the shirts, and wonder how many folks are leaving the expo with shirts that will not fit.

How about the length of the shirts? Any noticeable difference?
Definitely a bit longer to me. Partly what made me switch shirt sizes was noticing that my challenge shirt ran longer than I expected

Considering the lack of options at the shirt exchange that might be a real problem

Merch quality shirts are definitely better than what was pre Brooks I will say. One of my chief complaints with what the old merch was the way they used to stretch no complaints so far with the way these look

I appreciate everyone's responses regarding shirt sizing. I've decided to go ahead and size up for Marathon weekend. I used to waffle between choosing Large and X-Large anyway, so going with X-Large sounds like the right move in this case.

Apparently someone asked Brooks about the stock and they brought 27,000 shoes to the expo. Which if that’s true round of applause to whoever is in charge for stepping up and making sure they had more then enough supply to meet demand since usually that’s lacking.

It certainly gives me hope for the bigger race weekends

I heard too that they are limiting one per model for each QR code, and Brooks is strict on that.

Here's a recent Princess weekend shirt with this weekend's 5k shirt. Both are women's large. The Brooks is a bit shorter and is smaller overall. Brooks is also a crew neck instead of a v neck. The material is a bit smoother on the inside, rougher on the outside (hard to describe but I don't like tech fabric so this is a touchy subject for me 🤣 ). Also the seams on the Brooks shirts are thicker and more noticeable, but maybe more durable?

Apparently strict enough that one of the resellers no longer can get their hands on the shoes. So that’s definitely a good thing

Yeah I would definitely would take the thicker seams as a good sign especially considering the known quality issues with the last one

DD and I have been running WDW races since 2010…and this year’s Springtime Surprise merchandise was the most “ehhh” we’ve seen. I did purchase the Weekend white running jacket and a generic runDisney long sleeve though.

But all the individual event shirts just seemed to miss the mark and weren’t appealing in color or design to us…but YMMV!

We were group 68, were let in around noon, and there seemed to be a good selection of sizes in most items.

After searching for merch previews on Instagram from platinum club members, the only shirt I was slightly interested in was the Baymax Running Again Tomorrow shirt, but it was gone by the time I got there. It wasn’t a must have though, so I wasn’t disappointed. I walked around and tried on some things but nothing interested me. Like others have said, it made me feel better about buying a pair of Brooks.

Ohhhh? Do tell!

Agree one million percent. And why do they insist on putting those fun character designs on horrible unisex cotton tees??

I was very disappointed that there wasn't a 10K shirt that said "Go the Distance" since that's much more fitting than "Zero to Hero"
Exactly! And how was there NO merch with any side characters at all? No Meg?? Huge miss.

Since we used our license photo ID to pick up bibs, do we still need to bring it on the day of the race? Or can I leave my ID back at the resort?

They could’ve done great things with Hercules. There was so much promise there! I was hoping for great Guardians, Hercules, and Baymax merch but no luck on any of them. I also found it strange that the Passholder merch only had Hiro.

Can’t remember the username now but someone was saying the Mickey and Minnie’s were sold out when Brooks still had stock. So yeah reseller couldn’t get to it was a very nice change of pace

You will not be asked to show ID again, only your bib. I bring mine in case of an emergency, but you certainly don’t have to.
