My Disneyland dining reviews, with pictures

We've got a few other cheaper dining ressies, but man! Storytellers or Goofy's Kitchen for breakfast with tax/tip for 4...is about $300. I mean, you could get steak/lobster delivered in your room for less. It's breakfast food folks!!!

I went early with a friend yesterday. We hadn't eaten breakfast so decided to split a breakfast burrito at Tiendita.

Tiendita is a takeout restaurant from the same people who own Paseo and Centrico. It is located directly below Paseo.

It is a less popular place to eat and I didn't see the breakfast menu online or on the app so I took a lot of pictures. They serve breakfast from 8-11 am.

We tried the chorizo burrito. Chorizo isn't usually my thing, but it is what my friend wanted. It was quite good. Very tasty and very filling. Definitely sharable. It was much better than the breakfast burritos in the parks. Magic Key holders receive a 10% discount. Since you order via a kiosk, make sure you ask the attendant to enter the discount into the order. Cost with MK discount was $9.90. I will definitely go back and try the other breakfast items.

Chorizo Burrito - Scrambled eggs, chorizo, Mexican cheese, black bean puree, carrots, potatoes, flour tortilla

Ours had black beans (not just puree) as well as carrots & peas. I thought the beans and vegetables added a lot to the burrito. I am sharing in case people have food sensitivities.

Yum! We tried the regular carne asada burrito here for lunch and loved it. We came back two days in a row. I might have to check this out next trip, but I’m most excited they have a cold brew chata! Thanks for sharing.

Ice Cream Float Flight
- Root Beer, Coke & Sprite with Grenadine
Supposedly a Magic Key exclusive, but they didn't ask to see my MK when I ordered

These were 95% soda with a 1/4 scoop of ice cream, topped with whipped creme. Generally, when you make a float, you put the ice cream in first and then add the soda. Here they filled the cup with soda, then added a small dollop of ice cream. As a result, when we inserted a straw, the ice cream pushed into the soda, causing it to foam up and spill over. :guilty:

Lunch at Hearthstone Lounge in GCH

I've eaten at Hearthstone Lounge many times. I posted earlier that the taste and quality of food is extremely variable.

Yesterday, all tables were given the following complementary almonds and olives as we waited for our food. We've never received this before. One table did not receive it. I assume they had food allergies.

Flakey Buttermilk-Battered Chicken Sandwich - Pasture-raised Chicken, Soft-fried Egg, Cucumber & Radicchio Slaw, Habanero Aioli & Hot Honey Drizzle, Buttered Brioche Bun, French Fries (or fruit)

For those that care, it is a chicken thigh. The aioli & honey are on the top and the slaw is on the bottom. Personally, I thought the slaw was bitter and had too strong of a flavor. I tried to scrape some of it off and the bun fell apart. :( I ended up eating the chicken and egg with a fork and knife.

It might be important to note that I dine with a group of people and we always share food. It could be that the bun fell apart because we cut the sandwich in half. Still, it is a big sandwich so I think someone eating this by themselves might cut it in half.

Hearthstone Burger - American Wagyu Patty, Sonoma Sharp White Cheddar, Avocado, Lettuce, Tomato, Bacon-Shallot Jam, Herb Focaccia Bun, French Fries

My spouse often orders the burger and really enjoys it. I think it has too many flavors competing with each other. The bacon-shallot jam is very sweet, sharp cheddar cheese is another strong flavor. There is some sort of aioli or mayo on the bottom bun, then the lettuce, tomato and guacamole. The meat patty is too heavy on top of all of that. It is easier if you eat this burger upside down.

This is my spouse's favorite. Personally, I prefer the burger at Craftsman Grill.

1727104947353.png

Cookie Butter Creme Brulee - Vanilla Crème Brûlée, Chantilly, Cookie Butter Biscotti

The creme brulee was very good, however we were a bit disappointed that what made it "cookie butter" was just the cookies that they placed on top.

Smokejumpers Grill
Double Basecamp Burger (Kid's meal)
It was the size of a slider and had 2 plain patties.
I got fries instead of cuties and it came with a yogurt drink and a choice of milk or waterPXL_20241005_184542287.jpg. An okay meal if you just want to eat a little something to save room for dessert or a snack.

Irish cream breakfast Cold Brew
Bailey's Irish cream, cold brew coffee and cold foam with chocolate rice cereal. This was very good.

Palm Breeze at at The Disneyland Hotel
Heirloom Beet salad with Chicken- this salad was on point this time. It was the best salad I have ever had on property

Signature Breezy Margarita - it's very pretty with the black salt. It tasted like a standard margarita.

Espresso Martini - it's not on the menu, but it's a normal bar and you can get whatever you want. It was spectacular.

Beignets wrapped up to go. I decided to get them to put in the fridge for breakfast since I was planning on leaving early. I reheated in the microwave. They are very good.

Hungry Bear Barbeque Jamboree

1729992003506.png

The restaurant just opened yesterday so the lines were very long. We mobile ordered earlier in the day which really helped.

Smoked Barbecue Combo Platter - A selection of House-smoked Meats, with Baked Beans, Coleslaw, White Bread and Pickled Vegetables. Select 2: Pork Spareribs, Pulled Pork, Sausage Link, or Beef Brisket

We chose ribs and sausage. I'm not much of a sausage person, but the other people in my party liked it. We got four ribs. Looking at other trays, it seems that maybe they had three.
My first rib was very dry and tasteless. The second rib was moist and tender. I added additional BBQ sauce to give them more flavor. The beans were much better than expected. I also liked the sweet pickles and pickled onions. The cole slaw was non descript. Each of us had a bite to taste and we tossed the rest. The bread was... bread. No flavor. Just plain white bread.

1729993991753.png

1729992572487.png

Smoked Beef Brisket Sandwich - Tangy BBQ Sauce, Pickled Red Onions and Pickled Jalapeños, with Beer-battered Fries

This was very tender and juicy. The pickled onions and jalapenos really complemented the meat. We all liked it.

Considering the Chicken Cordon Boo was $15.79, this was a great sandwich for $16.99.

1729992791631.png

Barbeque Pulled Pork Sandwich - Tangy BBQ Sauce, Coleslaw and B & B Pickles, with Beer-battered Fries

This was very messy. It was good tasting with plenty of meat, but we all liked the brisket sandwich better.

1729993128402.png

Corn Ribs Plate - Chile-Lime Aïoli, Parmesan, Crispy Onions, Cilantro and Scallions, with Coleslaw and Beer-battered Fries

This was surprisingly better than I expected. The aioli and crispy onion added to it. It is priced too high at $14.99 for me to buy it again.

1729993366103.png

Desserts were not available for mobile orders. They also weren't on the posted menu. Based on what other guests received, the desserts looked small. Hopefully they bring back the seasonal funnel cakes.

They had several self serve stations with ketchup, ranch and three types of barbeque sauce available.

Now, your Brisket looks like a decent sandwich! Much better than the brisket I saw on Reddit. How weird they won't let you order dessert on mobile order.

I wonder if it depends on what time of day you get it. We ate around 11:15 am. My first rib seemed like it might have been left over from the day before. Maybe our brisket was more tender and moist than it is at the end of the day.

Thanks for posting! I've been so curious about this new menu.

Festival of Holidays had a shaky start today. There was no list of what items (other than the carts) were included in Sip & Savor. The brochure had a QR code, but it only took you to the Disneyland app. Restaurant CM also weren't sure if their items were on Sip & Savor. Supposedly they are working on it. :surfweb:

Lucky Fortune Cookery

Three Milk Ube Tea
- Ube Tea with Brown Sugar Tapioca Pearls, topped with Coconut Foam

This was tasty with a decent ube flavor. The foam didn't have a coconut flavor at all. In my opinion, there was too much ice and the pieces were too large. The paper straws couldn't get past the ice to the boba.

1731728839787.png

Santa Baymax Macaron - filled with Peppermint Buttercream, Chocolate Ganache and Dark Chocolate Crunchies

The buttercream was quite minty. This was also very good. I'm not sure they needed the crunchies in the middle.

1731728975699.png

I ordered my drink and macaron and walked over to Paradise Garden Grill to try the...

Chilaquiles Carnitas Torta! - Red Chilaquiles, Refried Beans, Avocado Spread, Queso Fresco, Pickled Onions and a Fried Egg, served with Chips

This thing was HUGE! It was quite good. They offer a smaller version on Sip & Savor. I should have ordered that.

Blue Bayou Fantasmic

Chicken Gumbo
starter - Tasso Ham, Andouille Sausage and Peppers with Steamed Rice

Market Fish (sea bass) - Pigeon Peas & Wilted Greens Rice, Peanut Habanero, Herb Salad and Coconut Lime Beurre Blanc

Creole Roasted Chicken - Andouille Sausage, Roasted Shrimp, Creole Rice and Creole Sauce

We had a late lunch reservation at Blue Bayou so, early in the day, I mobile ordered desserts from Jolly Holiday to eat while we were waiting for Fantasmic.

Jolly Holiday

Chocolate-Coffee Loaf
- filled with Chocolate Cream, topped with Crunch Chocolate Shell and Mickey Chocolate Logo

Granted, we were eating in the dark, but none of us could decern what flavor this was supposed to be. It didn't taste like either chocolate or coffee. Very non descript. I thought it might have the texture of a buttermilk bar. Sadly it did not. Two thumbs down for this.

1731892326128.png

Cookies and Cream Cheesecake - Cookies and Cream Cheesecake topped with Red and Green Mousse and Yellow Pearls

This was okay. It was exactly as described. Nothing to write home about.

1731892663354.png 1731892966193.png

Banana Bundt Cake - Banana Cake filled with Dulce de Leche and finished with Cream Cheese Frosting, Sprinkles, and a Chocolate Decoration

This had good banana flavor. The dulce de leche was poured into the central hollow core and it sunk to the bottom. Because we split it, only the person who got the cardboard disc that it was served on received any dulce de leche.
