Marathon Weekend 2026

After a long disboards hiatus I caught up on all 40 pages of this thread and hope to stay involved. I’ve always been a huge fan of the MW threads and SAFD!

I wasn’t planning on MW at all, but the themes drew me in! My plan is to register for Goofy on Tuesday. I have to work that day so hopefully registration will go smoothly.

I may want to join the Marathon Spectator Club. DH decided to sign up for his 21st Goofy with his “special perfect invitation” link, so Tuesday is final decision day. I don’t know if I want to attempt another Goofy. My head says yes, but my body says no, so I may do the half marathon only, and then spectate the marathon. I’ll see what race(s) I can get on Tuesday.

My body is still saying no to the marathon for 2026. I am in for the half. You are welcome to help us cheer.

If you live in the greater Midwest area, Meijer is doing their mperks thing for gift cards (5k points for every $50, limit of 50k points) and if you have a chase card with quarterly rewards categories, grocery stores is a category, so 5x points for the purchase.

Ok, I’m about to get all my devices prepopulated with my credit card info and I’m trying to decide which credit card to use. Has anyone had any experience with Chase Saphhire’s travel insurance for race registrations? I could see it falling under “pre-paid, non-refundable travel expenses”, but (thankfully) I’ve never had to submit a claim for travel insurance before.

We picked our top four dining locations from each park, setting up our very own Sweet Sixteen (with some very sweet option in there, indeed), and now they'll go head to head to see which comes out on top.

Pick your favorite from each match-up in the bracket below. At the end of the week, I'll tally all the votes and we'll see which advance to the Elite Eight. I'll leave voting open through the end of the day on Friday to give everyone a chance to weigh in. Here we go!

Via Napoli, I guess - I used to really love Spice Road Table, but I went there a few months ago and was kind of disappointed.
