I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

I came here to post a similar question! I can't see the exact date I earned the SUB, but the 60K bonus points are on my April 2021 statement. If I downgrade now, wait a few weeks to reapply, then hit the bonus spend in late May or June I should be ok? Wish I'd have kept better records back then also!
If they points are on your April 2021 statement, my understanding is that's when you earned the SUB. It's the card closing date, not the payment application date. What date did your statement close in 2021?

If you pay on your due date, that's not quite the statement date. My Flex that statemented 4/8 is due 5/5.

Can you look at your bill payments in Jan, Feb, March 2020 and confirm which payment is the one that you broke $4k in payments to chase for that card number? If it was the Mar 2020 payment, those points hit in February. If it was the February payment, those points hit in January, etc.

Or, think of it this way. You opened 11/2 and had 90 days to hit spend, so you hit the spend no later than 2/2. That card then likely statement some time in Feburary, early March at the very latest, so you're over 4 years since you earned that bonus.
Ha, you're right, I'm confusing myself, LOL. I don't have access to the statements (all electronic on Chase site, and I don't have paper copies). So I got the open/close and last payment info off TransUnion.
I'm just thinking, if it took me the MAXIMUM amount of time to hit sub (which I think Chase allows 115 days), then that puts me around Feb 27, 2021. Maximum that statement could've cut is the end of March, right?

I don't have access to the statements
I meant your bank statements where the payments were coming out. Should have been more specific.

Yeah, I think with your timing, even if you waited to the last moment, you bonused no later than March and are past 4 years as of right now.

Especially at ATL, the Pre only line is usually walk up. The heavier the Delta presence the higher likelihood that a Pre only line will be faster than Clear+Pre. Even at MCO, I get through Pre in 15 minutes and my colleague that pays out of pocket for Clear is through in 10.

Correct. The current sign up bonus for the Sapphire Preferred is 100k points with a floor value of $1,000 for a $95 annual fee. I average 2.5 cents per point on Hyatt stays and you can find SW flights for 1.6 cents per point. That means I'm getting up to $2,500 in Hyatt stays for just the sign up bonus or $1,600 in SW flights.
Elevated bonus offers usually have an expiration date you can find, but I wouldn't expect it to last any longer than May.
Dang $1,000 in points!! Seems like there’d be a catch. We never fly so I wouldn’t use that and we do get hotels occasionally so maybe I can start staying at the Hyatt I suppose

When did that April statement close? 48 months from that closing date should be fine. It would be a denial if it hasn't been long enough.

If there's anyone cutting it really close, talk on r/churning is that it's the posting date of the transaction that made MSR and not the SUB post date like we usually think it is.

That statement closed on 4/28/21, going to be cutting it close! I guess I'll wait until May 1 to downgrade, then another week to reapply. If by some weird chance I'd get a denial, I could upgrade the old card that was downgraded right?

Why wait to downgrade? Do you need the benefits in the next two weeks?

I'd downgrade now so it's done with a couple of weeks in there and then app 5/1.

No, you can't upgrade a card within 12 months of downgrading it, I don't think. Do you have another Chase freedom you could upgrade if this denies?

@calypso726, so how do you combine point pools? I honestly can not remember being surprised that no one answered me on this thread, either. I also never logged into my P2/DW Account. I remember I made her do it once a long time ago, but now I take the reigns o_O . I know on Amex it's easy; you can do it online. I was curious if you could do the same with Chase UR or how it works.

Between your own cards is easy. Click Redeem on the rewards balance to bring up Rewards Home and Rewards Details dropdown includes Combine Points.

Chase changed things where, when you're transferring between household accounts, you have to call in to establish the connection between them. The person transferring out needs to call Chase with the card details for both the outbound and incoming transfer.

Here's where it gets a little sticky. Some people report that, after that call, you can see that card on each other's profile under Combine Points so you can transfer to is on your own going forward. Others don't see that card linked. My personal experience is that the first time I called, the linked card didn't appear afterward. The second time I called, the phone rep said something like, "Well let's make sure you have that in there, too." and then it did show up where I can transfer myself now. So, my recommendation is to specifically ask the rep to please transfer the points and to add the connection to your profile so you can do it yourself next time.

My friend who is helping has been having points for a while. They said he needed to go to a branch. He's an AU on his wife's cards, but maybe he needs his own card to call back and transfer it easily. I asked my DW to log in to her account, and my link was still there even though she is only the AU on my cards now. When we did it before, She had her own Chase Unlimited It's been a while; I can not remember the specific card has to be 10 years ago at this point.

Not sure if I’m understanding …….your friend does not have any Chase cards in his name and he is only using the AU card on his wife’s account the points are being earned on her account. If so there aren’t any points to transfer
