Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER Resort

Any news about how this has been affecting those with reservations? Anybody reported being moved to a different resort due to these unscheduled closures?
3-4-5 still closed as of now

Not heard of anyone being bumped to a different resort. Hopefully they are doing the remedial work now as booking capacity allows for it. Would be a different story over Easter I suspect.

So I just saw they switched out a lot of tubs for showers, is there an exact number now? I need a bath for my ankles unfortunately.

Pretty much all of the upper floors now have walk-in showers, but some of the ground floor rooms still have bathtubs. If you put in a request hopefully they will be able to arrange one for you.

6111 has a tub but the ‘garden view’ we apparently paid up for sucks … we have basically looked out at the broadside of a maintenance cart our entire stay .. Can even see the parking lot as much as we see a garden.. Some rooms need their views reassigned for sure …we tried to get standard view or whatever they call it now but could not … torn about saying something as there are plenty of beautiful garden views here but then there is this …

Sorry for your experience, but they are hardly going to change a room categorisation based on the fact that a service vehicle happened to be stopped there while you were staying. But yes, you can just about see a few parked cars a hundred yards away in the distance, past the street courtyard theming, trees & vegetation, pathway, and the frog fountain.

lol ok they have been stopped there 24/7 for 7 days … I’m complaining now… I’ll update you on the Frog Fountain Andre Taken just a few short moments ago … now I can’t even see those cars parked ‘200 yards’ away …

I was in room 6139 in February. A 1st floor river view room with a tub.

Yes, most of the ground floor rooms still have tubs. 2nd and 3rd floor are mostly walk-in showers. But there are some exceptions. I've updated my floorplan maps for 1-4 and 6 (https://www.portorleans.org/floorplans.php) but still need to update 7 & 5 once the work is finished. e.g:

These are the best, Andre. I wish I could find them for other resorts but no one seems to have the talent to do them. Thank you! (Staying at an Epcot resort with my daughters in April because one of them requested it, and I am so frustrated that I can't "scope out" the rooms ahead of time.)

I wish hotels would keep tubs. They are important for families with little ones who still take baths.

I heard from several cast members on this trip that almost all the info they get comes from social media and message boards rather than directly from Disney … i am now convinced they do.

We love taking the boat to Disney Springs but next year we will be staying at POFQ with our DD who has a disease that easily triggers vertigo (she has vertigo all the time basically) so she won't be able to do the boats due to the rocking. Are there buses that go to Disney Springs at POFQ?

Planning a stay in september, havent been keeping tabs on the renovations (though i know the last time we visited it was in full swing), is the renovations planned to be completed by that time?

Should have been finished already, but the process is a bit behind the original schedule. They are on the final building (#5) now though, which should be done very soon now.

A few further closures are planned to fix some snagging issues that arose (buildings 3 and 4 at the moment) but again that should be short-term.
