Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

If Lori Loughlin started making Christmas movies again, would you watch them?

Today, it was announced that Felicity Huffman is set to film, as the lead, in a new TV series. ABC doesn't know if it will air the show, but they, at least, for now, are giving her a chance to make a comeback.

IF Felicity is successful in making a comeback, that she's been forgiven as she did the time for her crime, it paves the way for Lori to possibly come back too.

Would you watch Lori's new movies? And/or if Hallmark starts re-airing her old Christmas movies and past seasons of When Calls the Heart, or even adds her character back on, would you watch?
Bit different situation for Lori and Hallmark. Hallmark, being the family friendly brand, would never re hire a convicted felon, especially one with such a high profile case like this. Now, I could see Lifetime wanting to make a splash in a few years and look to film a movie with here, but even that is hard to fathom. Hallmark had such a distinct and firm break with her that I doubt they’d ever re-air any of her shows or movies.

But, having said that, I’d watch because I really don’t feel like the punishment is fitting the crime for her. But I was never really a fan of any of her shows or movies anyway, since Full House. Her character always annoyed me on When Calls the Heart. The only thing about her that I miss from When Calls the Heart is that her 2 adopted children also got the shaft and were cut from the show when she left. I would actually rather they return without Abigail

My original post mentioned Lifetime, then I edited it. As this morning, it might have been on GMA or the morning news, when talking about Felicity Huffman's new project, they also pointed out that on When Calls the Heart, they've been mentioning Lori's character again rather recently. And someone high up, either at Hallmark or When calls the Heart, responded to someone's tweet or Instagram, when a person said something like, wishing Lori's character could come back, the Hallmark person responded something like, "One can hope." (I'll see if I can find the actual tweet or Instagram later.)

So, it sounds like if they feel the public forgives Lori, there might be a chance she may be back on Hallmark.

Otherwise, I do agree, Lifetime would be a surer bet. It's not like they have anything to lose. They also tend to take more risks.

To me, it worked because ALL the actors committed to that kind of acting and it became an over the top, farcical style movie. It was obvious that the actors were having a blast playing it and we were along for the ride.

As for the spoiler:

As soon as the male lead showed up, yes, it was obvious he wasn't the travel writer. Hallmark is simplistic in that way. If this was a full feature film, I suspect they would have had 3 male guests, all major stars, and one would have to guess which one is the one the lead actress goes for, and is he the travel writer, as all the parts would be fleshed out much better. As in, is the travel writer George Clooney or Brad Pitt?
We watched this over the weekend and we laughed a ton throughout. I think you're right that it worked because they all got into I committing to being so over the top. Like when the grandmother shows up she's like 'no I want in on the action!' I loved the bickering with the two sisters because it did seem natural. It was def. just a simple film but one we had fun watching.

Because people haven't necessarily watched it I'll put this next part in a spoiler
I was surprised they had a pregnancy plot point, it wasn't bad at all just wasn't used to it with how Hallmark has been the last 5-6 years or so

I would watch Lori Laughlin's Garage Sale Mysteries if they started showing those again. Well, I'd try one and see whether it bothered me, but I don't think it would. I don't think any of her old Christmas movies were favorites of mine, but I'd watch one if the plot sounded good.

I never watched any of her movies, Christmas or otherwise.

I do think there's a bit of difference in the publics perception of Huffman and Loughlin. Huffman pled guilty right away and did her time. Loughlin fought it all the way, with, seemingly, an "I did nothing wrong" attitude.

agreed

My favorite Hallmark Christmas movie is MISS CHRISTMAS and I'm so excited how many times they have aired it this year. If you haven't seen it you need to watch it.!!!

Did you watch A TREE GROWS IN COLORADO? I knew I had seen one very similar and it was MISS CHRISTMAS! I enjoyed the movie but it has so many plot holes Why would they wait until Christmas Eve for a tree lighting? No way they cut that tree down, put it up and decorated it in two days, and then light it on Christmas Eve! What a waste of a beautiful tree.

I also watched "If I Only Had Christmas". In spite of my dislike of Candace Cameron Bure. While it was a "cute" concept I found the not-so-thinly-veiled Wizard of Oz dialogue distracting
Agree on If I Only Had Christmas. We haven’t watched a Candace Cameron Bure movie in a few years as she just grates on us. But we watched this one. It was ok. But definitely over the top with the Oz references.

It didn't bother me at all, as she mentioned it right in the intro. I considered catching the references part of the fun!

Also just watched Christmas by Starlight and that was excellent.

Good - I taped that one, so I'll be looking forward to it!

If that football player that fought dogs can make a come back, she can. We set the bar low for folks here.

Going to watch Snow this weekend.

Also just watched Christmas by Starlight and that was excellent. Up there with a Timeless Christmas for my favorite of the year. Chemistry between Paul Campbell and Kimberly Sustad was really good (they actually wrote the movie together too). Had a lot of laughs too.

I loved Christmas by Starlight, my favorite so far this year. Paul Campbell and Kimberly Sustad are great together. I loved their other two movies too, Wedding Every Weekend and A Godwink Christmas.

I liked Christmas by Starlight too but it reminded me of the movie Two Weeks Notice with Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock.

:teacher: A little heads up: We are heading into the final 3 weekends of NEW Christmas movie premieres.

ALL channels finish their NEW Christmas movies on Sunday, December 20. There are no new Christmas movies after that. Even though there is another 5 days the week of Christmas. (They will still continue to air Christmas movies, Lifetime through Christmas, and Hallmark to after New Years, just no new ones.)

So, pace yourself. Plan out your movie recording & watching, saving up enough new movies to watch all the way to Christmas or New Years, if that's something you want to do.

Thanks for the heads up, Imzadi, that is disappointing though!

I watched "Home for Christmas Day" this morning. I enjoyed the overall the story. I did question the ages of the two "teen/young adult" stars. The soldier, Tyler, (I am pretty sure was just starting his service. I don't think his age was ever stated). Betsy was a senior in high school. 17. To me, Betsy looked even younger but then I certainly know that people often do look much younger than they really are. Tyler looked maybe 20 at most so just 3 years older. I really was glad the Mom chose to give her long time suitor and family friend a try at a relationship.

Danica McKeller's movie is on tonight. Sunday night. She will be live tweeting during the movie at 8pm ET and promises she will answer every tweeter.

Here's an interview I came across about the movie and how Danica is also a mathematical genius. She co-authored of a ground-breaking mathematical physics theorem which bears her name (The Chayes-McKellar-Winn Theorem.) She talks about the 10 math books she wrote, trying to make math more fun and entertaining for kids of different ages to learn.

Just a heads up, that movie is on tomorrow night. Tonight is the 4th installment of Christmas in Evergreen. Danica is the Sunday movie.

There is also a Lacey movie on Movies and Mystery’s tonight at 10.

Thanks for catching the wrong night. :thumbsup2

This week, Lifetime has a new movie Monday night at 8pm ET. It re-airs at midnight ET.

Remember: ION now has Christmas movies Sat & Sun.
ION has a new movie tomorrow, Sunday, at 7pm ET.

Watched Christmas Waltz today. Very good. Had low expectations of this one as the commercials made it look kind of slow and disappointing, but it was really well done.
We just watched that last night. Very predictable but really sweet too. I thought it was well made and rated it high. The only thing is at the end I guess I wanted just a wee bit more.

I think the ending
with them kissing was perfect with the dance but wished there was just a bit more conversation before that dance with them reconciling. During the whole movie they didn't really acknowledge as much their attraction to each other because she was just dumped by her fiance, then her fiance comes back into the picture, etc. That may just be me though. I was left wanting just a bit more there.

I enjoyed the dance scenes, liked the two leads together although my husband couldn't stop laughing
at the russian but not russian..why they couldn't have just made him english like he is kind of thing.

I'd recommend it :)
