Purchased Disney GC at Target ISSUE

Almost the exact same here. I have purchased in the past but this round I bought 8 cards across 4 orders. All were activated except 1. I was told they were sending to that dept on Sun or Mon and Id hear back in 48 hours. Nothing after 2 days so I tried again and escalated further up to a supervisor, he was also overseas, he said I will hear back in 48 hours. It's now been over 48 hours and nothing. He sent me a $10 coupon for the inconvenience. I plan to follow up again today.

Thanks for your update. I hope she follows through and gets it fixed for your dad.
So Walmart refunded the orders since it was easier. He got the Walmart cards discounted so would have been nice to get those Disney cards at a discount but oh well! The warehouses aren’t activating them!

I think he ended up with 10 cards inactivated out of the ones he bought. Big pain! He gave me the # he called that was finally able to help him though 888-537-5503
 
I find it really strange that Target doesnt give activation receipts like most other retailers.
They used to when they had a 2 part activation process…but now it’s all supposed to be done at 1 process, purchase and activation.

What I'm confused about is how Target could have processed your $100 for a purchase if the gc wasn't activated first. They would have had to have scanned the card, entered the $100 amount for the card, then processed your Target card. Right? Even if it was a $100 card and not one you could select the amount. So wouldn't the card have been activated at that point? And if that's not what happened and there was a glitch (which is what it sounds like), then Target should have been able to understand that and figure it out w/o all the headache you went thru.

And the employee that hung up on the Disney rep while on YOUR phone? Yeah, that would have sent me over the edge.
 
About ten years ago I bought a Straight Talk activation card from WalMart. It would not activate. I called Straight Talk; they said that WalMart had failed to do something, and that I had to talk to them. I called WalMart, and they said it was purely a Straight Talk issue. The closest that I ever got to a solution was WalMart telling me to return the card, but this was almost a year after the purchase (and after about two dozen calls). I destroyed the card to make sure no one else could activate it.

Years later I was talking to a WalMart manager about another issue. I told him about the Straight Talk issue...and he told me "Didn't you know that we own Straight Talk?"
 
Not a GC but another similar tech - employee error issue. I did Lands End Return using "Happy Returns" option at a Ulta store. I have done this a 1/2 dozen times before. WELL I find out, no refund went thru. Ultra said call Happy, Happy said go to Ulta, no help there, Then Happy said go back and make Ulta pull security tapes of ME doing the return, Ulta says NO. Finally I Called Lands End, and they will issue a refund anyway!

Happy implied it was my fault for not waiting in the store until the email arrived, it comes right away. My bad I guess?? So somehow I should have known this? (obviously Ulta employee made a mistake- you get no paper receipt for these returns.)

Well that’s a great example of a Walmart manager not being knowledgeable. Straight Talk was owned by a company from Mexico and then later sold to Verizon.
