4. Are you happy with your assignment or do you feel like you got a "leftover?" It's better than what I booked. I wasn't crazy about being assigned to Deck 2, but I turned out to be perfectly fine. It was a fairly central location for us, and the ship is small and easy to navigate.

If you sailed the Magic before, even 20 years ago, you should be listed as Silver. We had 25 years between our first and second DCL cruises (both on the Magic), and DCL was able to find our records so that we received the Silver gifts on embarkation day.

Yes this. My first DCL cruise was in 1999 and we didn't sail again until 2023. I was silver!

Personally think that 9B might be preferable for us than 9A since the 9A rooms are farther forward and potentially have more motion.

I believe in the last couple years DCL has changed castaway club rules. If you don’t sail within 5 years you lose your club status, which is kinda sad.

OTOH there are reports here of DCL crediting CC status after 20+ years. They credited us as Silver in January 2024 even though our previous DCL cruise was in 1998. So who knows what they’re doing!

Oh that's nice to hear. They quietly take things away and make all sorts of changes.
One take away is they no longer allow you to change your stateroom before the cruise and pay the fare amount that was given on the day you booked. The room we love became available and I called to change to it about 3 months before the cruise and the price was $900+ to switch, I was surprised to see that.

Agree! I still show my status and I haven't cruised on Disney in over 6 years. Hope to change that soon!

We were assigned a "communication stateroom" which offers special communication features for those who need it, so I believe it was leftover after they determined no one else needed those features on our sailing. But we are very happy with the room! (Deck 9, slightly aft)

They recently changed tags just to help with this. Now tags are mailed even if you do not have an assigned room. The room space on the tags going to those with *GT rooms will be left blank and you are supposed to write your room number on the tag once you receive it.

Most come out 14- 8 days prior to sailing. If for some reason your tags do not come the porters always have extra
