Did you pay full direct price?

We can be mad together. I paid $210 (i.e. $225 minus $15 incentive) per point for 426 Poly Tower fixed week points earlier this month, and then I signed a contract for another 200 Poly points for $212 per point a couple days ago.
Can I be mad? I just paid the deposit for my first ever DVC contract, 150 direct at Poly. $220/point.

I bought 60 pts at VGF when it first came back. I didn’t have any direct points and VGF is my favorite. I had no intention of getting more direct points any time soon and was happy to have 60pts to use for a long weekend once in awhile. I signed the day before a price increase. I think it was $207, and the next day it went up to $217?

Fast forward about 8 months, they had the awesome incentives at VGF2 so I bought another 150pts. I forget what it ended up being per point, but it was good incentives plus the welcome home and magical beginnings or whatever selling back the first year of points was. Sure, it would have been nice to get the whole 210 at the sale price, but DD19 and I did take a trip using our first 60pts in between the purchases so it’s fine. I have no intention of ever selling my VGF points so by the time I am done, it won’t be much of a difference since I got the extra year of use with the first purchase.

I also happened to have enough cash at the time to buy the 60pts. I wouldn’t finance in order to get a better deal. I was only able to add on later by selling our resale contracts, which I wasn’t ready to do at the time of the first direct purchase.

Yes, but I took advantage of every discount I could qualify for. Bought into Villas at Disneyland Hotel for 150 points when it was first offered to existing members in May of 2023. The original price was $230 per point with a $20 discount to make it $210 per point. With Magical Beginnings that brought it down to $191.50. Then, I followed advice from other DVC buyers and put the purchase on my rewards credit cards to receive cash back and that brought it down to $188.50 per point. To me, it was worth it to get the direct benefits. My only regret now is not buying Grand Floridian in the Spring of 2022 to get those discounts, too! Haha!

Many bought VGC without incentives because of its rareness. I used to be one that would've said I would buy full price VGC. But no longer. The availability there is horrible even at 11 months for studios.

Bought VDH direct but would have never ever paid full price.
Same here. I asked the DVC guides about buying VGC direct and was told yesterday that the price is now $355 per point instead of the $310 shown on the website. That price makes me reconsider since there are some resale deals to be had around $220-$230 per point.

I bought a small VDH contract last year with no incentives. I only wanted about 50 points (went with 55) and there are no incentives at that amount. The rest were definitely well below $200.

Did they offer you the Magical Beginnings of $22 per point?
As a new member my only discount was $5 off per point at the 150 point level. I have a verbal statement from my agent that if new incentives drop before my 90 day close is complete then we can take advantage of them.

Looks as if prices are going up enough that my original post should have been who has paid over $300 per point.

I spoke to a couple at Poly that had purchased AUL direct at $200. I had to tell myself not to ask if they new about resale.
