PVB Tower Charts, Sales Date and more!!!

For Poly / Poly Tower fans, it’s probably worth the time to enter and watch those videos. Obviously all carefully curated and salesy, but a ton of cool info about the making of the tower, backstory, etc. Nothing totally new that’s not already known, but the video is nicely done with a few additional glimpses at things here and there, in my humble opinion.

Granted this was likely from one of the top two floors (likely one of the 2BR penthouses) - but that’s definitely the money shot. And why I’m here - high floors and views. :goodvibes

One of the videos goes into the story of this piece of wall lobby art, but I think this is the first time we’ve seen this level of detail in this rendering. DIS lowers the picture quality so it’s kind of hard to see, but some of the visuals include Te Fiti, Tamatoa, and similar Moana and tower design element themes.

Ooo nice watching now! This is a really clever (and well done) marketing push. Seeing the actual physical elements coming together is super exciting. And although we could more or less guess what the TPV was going to look like, the image is wow, and I’m sure it’s going to be even more spectacular in person. I feel like I’m gonna need more points 😅

@GADisneyDad14 did you decide to cross over to the dark (DVC) side and buy into the tower or are you still thinking about it?

These are brutal! Knew they would be bad, and they technically don’t HAVE to offer any incentives but there was always that little bit of hope ha!
We will be joining DVC as new members next year - we are just in the process of figuring out what way works best for us. I was so excited for the new Poly Tower and the opportunity of joining DVC as a direct poly owner. We were at one point set on buying 200 points.

Of course the points chart then came out - coupled with these prices - we are really struggling to see the value of this compared to resale options, especially coming from the UK it is a lot of money to then struggle to stretch the points out to cover our usual 2 week trip.

We are visiting in May, when I’m sure the prices will be completely different (no doubt higher!) and we will do the tour and see the model rooms etc but I’m not sure I can even see us doing the 150pt minimum for the benefits with this resort. I’d love to have the direct perks (more cause of fomo than anything else) but really need to take a step back and look if it is worth it or not.
If you typically travel in May to WDW, consider FW 21 (Memorial Day Weekend). 153 points a week in the Tower Studio.
We typically plan on booking in March for Spring Break with summer as a backup. Is June a bad use year for that?
Yes.

Good Morning everyone, DW and I just got off the phone with our guide and just completed our first direct purchase for a 150 point (3 x 50 point contracts) on the Poly! We did ask and unfortunately Magical Beginnings were not available for this so thats too bad. We are closing in 60 days so more than enough time if the December incentives improve. Pretty easy process but did take a little longer with having the 3 separate contracts, essentially just had to do everything 3 times. Guide was of course wonderful throughout the whole process. Excited that we get to use our benefits essentially starting this weekend since we are taking a short trip in 2 weeks. For context we bought resale a little over a year ago for 100 points at Copper Creek. Really excited about this purchase!

Amazing - congrats! We are very close to doing almost exactly this, but 1 x 100 points and 1 x 50 points. Did you have to pay closing costs on each 50? Or just one closing cost? Any other down sides to splitting the contract in 3? Any tips much appreciated!

We paid essentially just under $500 per contract for all costs, so really you are just paying the $250 document prep fee per contract and they spilt the other closing costs amongst all 3. Not a bad deal IMO.

No other advice, just be prepared to keep repeating your card number a hundred times lol. Depending on how you do it they have to re-enter it in each time for each contract for each payment (we split our down payments over 2 months, we’re going to do 3 but the math just worked out easier to do 2 months and what’s not her month anyway at this point).

If you’re doing a loan then you make payments separately on each of the 2 contracts. Other than that couldn’t have been easier. On the phone less than 30 minutes in total.

Thanks. I was wondering exactly how that worked.

Sounds like closing cost and title insurance stay the same price no matter how many contracts are bought in 1 transaction.

Super helpful, thanks! Reassuring to know that the sting on splitting a contract isn't bad. Enjoy!

Not sure if you own already but I think you can also get $500 for Dream It Forward if you know someone with DVC or you can find someone in this thread:

Congratulations and Welcome Home neighbor!

They are easier to pass along to children than one contract as well

Yeah, that’s one of the biggest reasons. Also, just flexibility in general if you need to down size or for passing along to kids.
Ah, alright. 150 was our very first contract so I doubt we'll need to downsize anytime soon. But I'll consider this for future add-ons.

While they don't announce future incentives ahead of time, don't they announce future price increases before they happen? At least they did last time. If I was on the fence I would wait, see if any future incentives are better, and maybe buy if they decide to increase the base price after they announce it but before they actually increase it
Yes, correct they typically do. (And generally they promote it loudly as a way to justify buying in ASAP before the price increases.) They just don't announce better incentives in advance, as that would be counterproductive.

I’m not certain if SuperCarrie meant to she would buy direct for all properties or only for Poly, but my opinion is that PVB is unlikely to get many significant discounts for the foreseeable future and if I wanted it, I might buy 90 with a 90 day close; however, if I just wanted to be direct and didn’t care about Poly, I think either (a) at least one of RIV/AUL/CFW will get better promotions in the next 12 months, and probably VDH as well or (b) one of the sold out resorts will get a flash sale. I think they want to funnel people towards PVB this quarter for a strong opening sales boom, but at some point they will lower prices elsewhere for limited promotions to pump up their overall sales volumes.
Yes, sorry I meant just Poly direct. I agree with you - if you are absolutely set on Poly, buy now with a 90 day close (or buy just before the incentives expire). If you aren't set on Poly - hold off. Something better is likely to come along.

It entirely true. Title insurance is included on each of the individual contracts so you are paying for that as well. For us it was $65. I know we could nah w waived it, buying direct is a lot more secure then resale. But I’m very risk adverse and $65 is nothing to protect an $11,000 purchase.

We had documents to sign within 2 hours of my call, CC charge hit and points in my account and my “blue card” all updated. Of note when I checked my chase account it categorized the charge as a Timeshare. Not sure if that will change at all but I’ve been reading people saying it’s counts as travel for the bonus points. Looks like they may have closed that loophole.

Is the idea behind 3/50 contracts just that they are easier to resell compared to 1/150?

For us yes. We have no kids but the added flexibility and the benefit that the small contacts general sell faster and for more of a premium than larger ones was our motivation.
