Ooh, a very happy birthday to Keisha today. Woot! Another year round the sun. Party time.

That food looks delicious, Keisha. Always so nice to have time with your GD. Odd you get email about my city airport hub airline. I haven’t used them since SW moved in. Though hate that we are not a SW hub. That other airline flies both domestic and international from my airport. I do check every so often, but every time SW is cheaper. Guess I will check again if flying near the holidays. Though I have quite the amount of SW credit, so SW may still be cheaper.

And this day reminder is for Keisha, in honor of her birthday today:

Hehe. But the other reminder is also here:

Woot! Birthday Wednesday. So as we celebrate Janet’s birthday, and get over that happy partying hump of a day, and Friday is then only a day away.

Back to that week day routine and laptop is not connecting right. Grr. Think laptop gets confused when it goes from one network to another. May try to reboot and try again. Sigh.

Weather? Yay! Sunny conditions will persist all day. Clear sky means in the overnight, low 60’s. But already close to 70 this early morning. 86 the high. Wonderful summer weather day for us.

Thus, a most Wonderful Wednesday, you know, the one where there’s a great reason to party with Keisha on her birthday today, to celebrate and think Friday is two days away. Woot!

Good Wednesday morning everyone

That is a good meme isn`t it!!! Last year we were sitting in Strong Water Bar with Janet and her mister and I did actually pull a muscle sat on the chair......lol.....weirdly I think it led to the knee injury I ended up with due to walking funny for a month or so. Yes, I think it comes to us all 🥴
Sorry to hear that. Yes, one injury can lead to another at times.

Yes, kids always speak the truth, it was hilarious when she saw the first picture of me with a perm and brown hair....her eyes went like saucers and looked a little alarmed, I was laughing so hard! Yes, she is a joy to have and we love looking after her when we get the chance, her mother is barely in her life anymore, much prefers working in Europe, but she has good family around her.
The littles are so cute. Sad to hear her mom is not around there much, but its sounds like her grandma is very important in her upbringing and she is surrounded by good and loving female role models in her life which you are one.

Glad you had fun with your grandson, it`s quite odd going back to places we all went to many years ago. And have fun with the little guy tomorrow!
Yes, the University has grown so much since I attended many years ago. It is nice to go back and have a walk around.

robbie good to hear the foot is coming along nicely, needs to be in tip top shape for HHN! Oh, I just love pineapple upside down cake. Sadly, few in my family do. Haven’t made one in a few years. Tempted to try to just put some in freezer bags and see if they will hold. I have done same with cheesecake without issue. Just not sure how the pineapple will translate.
The cake is pretty moist not sure how it would fare in the freezer either. It is a family favorite around here. Glad they like it so much as it is easy to make.

Hope you get everything all worked out before your HHN trip.
Me too. I’am trying to get the body in good shape for the HHN marathon for sure.

I am constantly mistyping or getting autocorrected and don’t realize it until after I hit send. One of these days I will remember to proofread.
I need to be better about proof reading also. Strangely I look over what I type when done. Then move on and when I post it I come back and words have been autocorrected to something else. I did do my IOS update for bugs and it seems to be doing a better.

We had an early morning visitor from our state bird.
Pretty Cardinal picture.

The alligator, ‘Chomper’ as we have named him, is in custody!” Bartolicius said in a text late Sunday night. “He is now in the hands of the (humane) officers where they will re-home him.”
Some people are really ignorant about releasing animals into nature where they don't belong. They buy exotic pets then release them when they don‘t want to care for them anymore.

That has been a big problem in Florida. Over the years people have released animals that are overtaking the native frogs and gecko species.

Chompers skin looks sickly. Interesting that gator has survived in the river.

one of my kids has been sickly last few days, turns out his stepmother (whom he saw on his BD), finally caught herself a case of covid.

Guess I’m off to try to track down tests…you used to see them everywhere. Think I’ll call the pharmacy when they open, then try to get him in for definitive testing @ the doctor’s office...nee parking lot as they come out in full hazmat suits.
Sorry to hear your son is sick. Hope he feels better soon.

Our granddaughter and her family did not attend hubby’s birthday celebration Saturday because her daughter (great-granddaughter) boyfriend tested positive for covid the day before.

There is a new mutated Covid virus out and sister who is still working as Nurse said They are seeing an uptake in cases.

Well, time to get back to the sewing room and get going! Happy Monday to all.
Good to see you post Ruth.

And we`re at 100 days till we fly.......it`s a decent countdown!!!
Yeah to having a countdown.

DS Covid free, appears still dealing with RX mistake that knocked him for a loop. They doubled the dose. Arrgh
Glad to hear your son is covid free.

Lunch at my fav hole in the wall Italian joint today after kiddos orthodontist appt. Whole spread just dinged $40 lol
The food looks delicious. The price is really reasonable.

We went out ultra early this morning for our walk, we were both wide awake so thought why not.....it was a little cool, but it turned out lovely about an hour into our walk, taken on a phone so the clarity isn`t very good.
Nice pictures of the sky and ocean on your walk this morning.

I watched little J yesterday again as sister needed to work another half day and I was happy to have some more time with little J. We went out for shopping and for play time at the Mall.

I have a few things to do in the yard today then a meeting in the afternoon.

We have storms predicted for later this evening. Hopefully it will not be to bad.

Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone doing whatever makes you happy.

Happy Hump day stop in!!!!

I blinked and our holiday weekend was over. I started at post at home over the weekend - and got interrupted and never finished it :o

We had a lovely weekend. The weather was perfect - sunny, not too hot, no wind. We went fishing on Sunday and finally the fishing gods were on our side and we caught some keepers to have for dinner. They were large enough to split the whole lot we caught into 2 meals. The youngest doesn't eat fish - so it was the perfect amount for 3 of us ::yes::

Guess who caught the most fish and 3 of the 4 keepers :rotfl: And they laugh at me when I put my special combo on and toss my line over the side of the boat and start reading my book lol.

I was lucky enough to be selected to get a code to buy tickets to one of the 6 Canadian shows to Taylor Swift!!!! Since I'm at the healthcare job on Friday when the tickets go on sale - DD will be logging into hopefully snag some tickets. Maybe some of you can send some positive thoughts and mummy dust to snag some tickets!!!!!

Well, I should track down some papers to shuffle around.

Have a great day everyone!

Glad you had such a lovely weekend……

I never knew TSwift was such a ”thing” but folks are going crazy to get tickets to see her……but, all good wishes you get the tickets!

It‘s starting to get chillier at night now, we’re not even half way through August yet, but already feels Autumnal but it’s been lovely, sunny and warm during the day which is what we want. I don’t mind that autumnal feel in the evenings.

Enjoyed the same dinner two nights running, salmon and shrimp are perfect together, then we had some tea, a blueberry mini muffin and a little piece of shortbread.

Then, perfect lazy evening, watched a couple of old black and white movies, evening passed quickly, and now not long till bedtime for us. It’s a bit misty outside now and maybe a bit misty in the morning.

But, hope Janet had a lovely birthday with her family……..:wave2:

It's a cool drizzly day here. I'm trying to decide what to make for dinner tonight. I have the rest of the chicken I took out last night and only cooked enough for dh and I since both boys are working out of town this week. So we are empty nesters until they return Thursday/Friday.

I spied a food truck around the corner from work that I had wanted to try - and now I'm still super full. It was a french fry truck - so many varieties of differently topped fries! I had a poutine. It was good. Not nearly enough size serving for what you pay for :rolleyes2 I would rather hit Costco and get the poutine there - which is delicious and cheap and 2X the size for half the price. I'm a frugal gal these days. I must sounds like some grumpy old Karen!!!!! :rotfl:

Not sure what's on the agenda for tonight - but I woke up at 4:45 and hubby had already left for work - so he will be hitting the hay early tonight.

I forgot...I made my first jars of pickles last night!!!! I'll have to post a picture of them. If all the blooms that are remaining form into cucumbers - I'll be making quite a few more jars yet

My tomatoes and potatoes are doing great as well. My bigger tomatoes I have picked a few and am waiting for them to ripen up. I " thought" I bought a couple of cheery tomato plants - they are bigger like a roma tomato - and they are VERY plentiful! So they will be made into some salsa and tomato/pasta sauce! I'm super excited that they are producing like they are!!!!

Later Gators!

Jumped thru those hoops earlier. My DS got the lucky code. He got thru after 6 hours. Then a week prior to concert found out his Ticketmaster account had been hacked and tix were gone. A few days of worry till they made it right. Whomever wound up buying original ones from a reseller (who pleaded ignorance of theft) was out of luck

Small & green. First year ever???

Meanwhile, all my pumpkins (jack o lantern usage) are ready to pick…Go figure

Going to dig into the cheesecake and watch guardians again.

Sounds like Pumpkin has a great garden, and Keisha having a great birthday.

Little one is the cook lately. And it’s so nice to have not only a chauffeur. Anyway, we had stir fried chicken with yellow and red peppers and fresh jersey tomatoes. A good portion of white rice, and I’m full and deciding what watch. DH is watching one of those spaghetti westerns, with his eyes closed. Kids are online gaming. So I’ll see what I can find to watch on that smaller screen.

Hope all have a very good night. I think we will get rain tomorrow. My knee is telling me the barometer has dropped in level. So that high humidity tomorrow is what will be and probably causing that around two inches of rain the weather guy said in the early evening news. Flood watches for my county. Thankful the end of our street use to always flood high, but they fixed it years ago now. So we should be good, and we have a water pump in our crawl space, if enough rain comes through it.

Ooh I made tea. Yep, house feeling that almost too cool. Haven’t heard our AC lately, and not even should be heard tomorrow, with that hazy, not very hot (hello 75 degrees the high), humid and rainy day. Happy after tomorrow, next rain chance is Tuesday. And the weekend predicted to be wall to wall sunny days with close to 90 both days. Double woot for that, woot woot!

Thought I would do a quick stop in.

I stayed busy tonight. Dh went to bed extra early. I needed to tend to the spurdough starter. So I whipped up a couple loaves of bread. I didn't drag out the mixer as I didn't want to wake-up dh. So I did it all by hand tonight. It's baking off now - but my arms wrists got a big workout tonight.

I also whipped up some bagels. They're not a traditional bagel that you put into a water bath, but they are quick and easy and made with Greek yogurt. They toast up nicely and are easy to take to take to work.

Well.iys almost time for bed. Once that bread comes out and hits the cooling racks, it's time to hit the hay. Morning cones quickly - especially on my homecare work days.

Scary cheetah!! Wouldn`t you just love to give it a hug though!! I always watch Kevin Richardson, The Lion Whisperer.....amazing to watch him love and hug those huge lions. He has an incredible connection to those majestic animals.

I agree, those club sandwiches are massive, Tom`s choice most of the time we go to CF. I`ve never tried that dish as I don`t really eat pasta, but would enjoy the extra chilli flakes!

Hope you enjoyed that cheesecake and glad you had such a lovely birthday!

hot here today and tomorrow will be hot again

same thing each for this month..
I know, boring.

You have the best weather out of all of us, nothing boring about that!!! I`d swap you right now as we woke up to fog this morning....it`s like November out there! Actually, looks like it`s starting to clear......

Not the prettiest veg are they!!! But, I`m sure they`ll taste amazing.

Not something that`s common over here, not with cucumbers anyway. I don`t think I`ve pickled anything, making chutney doesn`t count as that I don`t think.

Yep, fog is clearing around us, it was quite eerie when I got up this morning, and incredibly still, I think I imagined I could hear the fog roll past us.....🥴

Plenty of tea this morning I think, yes, I do have a lot of tea, it is a very British thing to do for sure, take away our tea and we`d fall to pieces as a nation I think! And we do it so well.

Breakfast is muffins with some fruit and a few slices of parma ham with a little avocado for me, Tom will omit the avocado, I think we might be going to a sandwich place for lunch not sure about that yet, and making home made spicy beef burgers for dinner with spicy wedges and salad.

Need to get a good luck in your new job card for one of my godchildren, she graduated earlier this year and was offered several positions in her chosen field and beginning of July she accepted what she hopes will be her forever career and finally starts on Monday. She has spent her summer doing volunteer work for a children`s charity which was a fabulous experience for her, better than sitting on her butt doing nothing, she`s not that type of person anyway.

She moved to London a week ago, fortunately she`s sharing a beautiful house with her cousin for the short term until she finds something permanent...she`ll do wonderfully and will enjoy City living I think. And she plans to do her PhD at the same time. I think we always knew she`d go into medicine, she hopes to be a top surgeon one day!

So, will get that card and get it posted to her, we have an appointment for Tom this morning then a bit of lunch I think and that`s it for today, oh need to buy one of my brothers a birthday card, it`s his next week, can`t forget that one!

Have a wonderful Thursday ☀️

Thirsty Thursday it is. At least laptop is back to being happy with this network. We do it every week, one day to give that laptop a change in how it connects. And so, tea for me, as did hear the ac on a few minutes. We do like it cool in the overnight, though I do bump up the temp an hour before I get up.

Stormy tristate area today. So thirsty I guess my area is, wanting a rainy day. I’m a little thirsty, as make my tea not much after I get up no matter what the day.

So nice to be sipping tea in this early hour and quiet enough, so I guess the birds know the weather will be stormy today. Overcast and still dark, even though about 15 minutes after sunrise. No rain yet. Saying will start in the afternoon. Eh, thankful my commuting was the other day instead of today. Driving in the rain is not fun coming out of the city.

And so, tea, a tastykake, and some scrambled eggs. And back to that other screen.

Hope all have a most terrific thirsty Thursday. Woot! Alarm off.

Yay! Lazy three day this weekend. And Sue can say a week away for her fun time, 2 weeks for me. Woot! Thought will be up three hours earlier than I usually am, on that hour before sunrise flight. Little one will sleep on it as soon as it takes off. I may be too. Though we like arriving early. And SOG opens its ITT office a half hour after we land. So a stop there first, then I’m thinking breakfast across the street from it. Plotting and scheming, yep. Yay!

Good Thursday morning Sans family

Since I'm at the healthcare job on Friday when the tickets go on sale - DD will be logging into hopefully snag some tickets. Maybe some of you can send some positive thoughts and mummy dust to snag some tickets!!!!!
Hope you are able to get the tickets you want. I have been amazed by the popularity of Taylor Swift. Good for her.

Yes, the little one is more or less being brought up by her dad who is wonderful, he is in the police but as a detective he doesn’t work 9-5 so grandma (my friend) helps a lot as does his mum. She is a lovely little girl who I do believe will turn out just fine, her mum is missing so much.
I think it is becoming more common place for Fathers to be raising their children. It is wonderful that he has such a wonderful support system.

Yes, it is a beautiful walk, my feet hurt tonight though, we walked a little too far!
Hope the feet feel better today. Getting out in the fresh air is wonderful.

My tomatoes and potatoes are doing great as well. My bigger tomatoes I have picked a few and am waiting for them to ripen up. I have picked a few cherry tomatoes off my plants. They are wonderful in salad. I was able to pick 3 larger tomatoes yesterday and felt like I had won the lottery. Nothing like having some fresh produce.

Marveled at how fast this cheetah sprinted to try to ‘get’ the service dog next to me today. A rather terrifying sight to behold
WOW….another exotic animal in your neck of the woods. Do the authorities think someone released this animal into the wild also?

I also whipped up some bagels. They're not a traditional bagel that you put into a water bath, but they are quick and easy and made with Greek yogurt. They toast up nicely and are easy to take to take to work.
Wow…. you are busy with your cooking, planting, pickling, bread making….etc…and all this while having two jobs. You are a busy, creative lady.

Congratulations to your Goddaughter in all her accomplishments.

Up having my cup of coffee. It is a little overcast this morning. We did get a little rain yesterday. We did not get the storms that were predicted yesterday evening. Although we needed some of Mother Natures water I was glad no severe storms.

I found an episode of “Who Do You Thank You Are” on YouTube. One of the most interesting episodes was on Sarah Jessica Parker. She played Sarah Sanderson in “Hocus Pocus” . She found out that her 10th Great-Grandmother was accused and tried for Witchcraft in Salem Massachusetts. The grandmother was saved from hanging which was the fate of the all the women who were accused and tried. The Court in Salem was dissolved before she would have suffered the others fate.

We did get our meetings taken care of yesterday afternoon. Then we went to the funeral home for a wake visit. Hubby’s cousin who he was really close to died when he was 50 in an accident many years ago. His cousin‘s wife eventually remarried and her second husband passed Saturday. I can‘t imagine how painful it is to have buried two husbands. She is such a lovely lady. We wanted to let her know we were thinking of her. So sad.

Not much going on here today. I have a few things to do in the yard.

Supposed to be in mid 80’s, but humidity is high so it will feel warmer. I enjoy being outside. So looking forward to a little yard therapy.

Everyone is talking about countdowns so thought I would get in on the fun. My countdown is

Hope you are able to get the tickets you want. I have been amazed by the popularity of Taylor Swift. Good for her.

I think it is becoming more common place for Fathers to be raising their children. It is wonderful that he has such a wonderful support system.

Hope the feet feel better today. Getting out in the fresh air is wonderful.

Sounds like you have a wonderful garden.

I have picked a few cherry tomatoes off my plants. They are wonderful in salad. I was able to pick 3 larger tomatoes yesterday and felt like I had won the lottery. Nothing like having some fresh produce.

WOW….another exotic animal in your neck of the woods. Do the authorities think someone released this animal into the wild also?

Wow…. you are busy with your cooking, planting, pickling, bread making….etc…and all this while having two jobs. You are a busy, creative lady.

The pickles look good.

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone. Have fun doing whatever makes you happy.

As the tea drinker of the group Robbie, I will definitely take a cuppa from you....nothing quite like it!!!

Elise`s dad is a superstar, can`t quite say enough good things about him, and his mother in law worshipsfor all he does for her granddaughter. And thank you, everyone is so proud of my goddaughter, very clever girl, takes after her dad for sure....or so I tell her mother all the time....lol.....

Didn`t get out walking today as Tom had a physio appt, but it was very foggy so we might not have gone anyway, but feet feel better today, going for new trainers tomorrow, tennis shoes over there so that should help as they will be more supportive, it`s not easy finding ones that take my orthotics comfortably though, usually stick to skechers.

Blessings to your husband`s relative, yes, must have been hard to lose two husbands.

Nice countdown!!!

We did end up going out for lunch with two friends, just the deli coffee shop in the village, but they do lovely sandwiches and salads and nice company too. It was very busy so we were lucky to get a table, they don`t take bookings, but we got lucky and didn`t have to wait too long. Resisted dessert too......

Walked home and haven`t done much the rest of today, found out all the baking was sold from the church gathering, always good to hear. And the fog has cleared which is nice, but we have a very humid day, something we don`t usually get so feels much warmer than it actually is.

Ground down the beef for the burgers, so they`ve been mixed with seasonings and spice, we`ll enjoy them later, Tom has a bun, I never do with a burger. Salad and coleslaw for me.

And not much else, but it`s been a lovely day all in all. Catching up with friends is always nice.

Time for more tea........

Thanks all. Not long back from zoo, Cheesecake Factory & shopping in fancy mall. GD found zip for a school clothes, my wallet was happy

Evelyn’s pasta back on menu. U fortunately, far too many red pepper flakes to manage more than a third.

Marveled at how fast this cheetah sprinted to try to ‘get’ the service dog next to me today. A rather terrifying sight to behold

My pickling ones didn’t thrive. Need to go to produce yard & get a peck

Wow. It’s your year. My tomatoes still
Small & green. First year ever???

Meanwhile, all my pumpkins (jack o lantern usage) are ready to pick…Go figure

Going to dig into the cheesecake and watch guardians again.
Happy late Birthday, Keisha!

I am envious of your tomatoes, LOL. I have tried and tried to grow tomatoes, with lots of advice from long time gardeners. But the have never worked out for me. So I will just buy them from the Mennonites garden sale! They have fabulous veggies every year and I don't have to do any work:) It's all good.

Carole, congratulations to your Goddaughter for her wonderful goals. I know you two are very proud of her:)
I hope you find comfortable tennis shoes! I always buy Sketchers. They just seem to fit me better and are sooo comfortable too. They are the shoes I wear to the parks too.

Sounds like you had a nice quiet day, and the burgers sound delicious!

I am getting ready to go to town for my granddaughter's appointment to try on wedding dresses. I never knew that was a "thing", but I guess the ladies of the family all go to help out. It will be fun seeing all those gorgeous dresses. Her wedding isn't until next May but I she is a planner, so I guess it's really not too early.

Then tomorrow she leaves for college :( and her own apartment. It all seems too soon, but I know she is anxious to get started with studies. Her Mom, however, is not taking it well. We all go through the last one leaving, it will just have to take a little while for her to get used to it.

I have a lot of house cleaning to do before we get company in a week. My brother and his lady friend and her little doggie will be here in a week. Guess I have to dust the spare bedroom after all, LOL.

It's nice and sunny here in the low 70's. Got to get finished and get going so I can find a parking space!

Thank you, she sent us pictures from her volunteer work over the summer, she is a natural people person and will make a wonderful doctor/surgeon.

Skechers are my park shoes, I do like them and they are fine for morning walks, proper walks in the hills or forrest I wear proper walking shoes, but they are just a basic hillwalking one as I don`t do "serious" walking!!

Oh I took my sister in law to one dress fitting and mum/2 close friends to another fitting....it is lovely to do and I think you`ll love it Ruth. And your daughter will be fine after a time with the youngest moving out to college, yes, she`ll need some TLC for sure......you`ll look after her.

lol......I have a brother who I describe as him and his lady friend......I can`t really call her his girlfriend and they`re not getting married......lady friend seems apt! Have fun!!!

Burgers were really nice.....it was so hot we grilled outside and still out now, but I think in about an hour we`ll be in as that chill will appear soon once the sun goes down, but what a beautiful few days! We take it when we can in the UK.

Going to make some tea soon, and enjoy a slice of gingerbread my friend baked, she gave it to us at lunch, it is her speciality.....darn good, haven`t met anyone who can bake it better, sticky and sweet and buttered, lush!!

Then lazy night ahead.......on to the final series of Orange is the new Black, I wasn`t sure at first if we`d like it, but you do get caught up with the characters.

And.....Tom has made tea......nice!!

And that moderate, yellow big blob of weather radar just went over us. Noisy.

Afternoon is dragging, but a yay for Robo’s countdown.

Need more tea. Had made an oven pan sheet with made chicken fingers and french fries. Easy lunch. Older one is home today, so he made tacos with his chicken, adding onions and some lettuce. I just used honey mustard with high my fries and chicken. Easy lunch, and didn’t mind warming up the kitchen with the oven on. Dinner? Who knows.

Still raining. Joy. I have an errand to run after I sign off. May do it tomorrow, if it doesn’t stop raining by the time I’m ready to go. At least rain to be done by the day is done. Nice dry three days coming up, so hot, they do have thunderstorms chances two of the next three days. Time of year. We haven’t had a rainy summer season last couple of years, so kinda nice to have one this year. Free plant watering.
