I have a question about preordering photopass. I don't think I need plus. If I preorder, they send me one card right?

But, if you don't preorder and get cards there, you can attach multiple cards before you order...

So, if you preorder can you still attach multiple cards? I'm worried about only having 1 card with 7 of us. We are sticking together for most part but just worried ill miss out on a spontaneous picture occassion.

You can add the cards, no matter if you preorder or not. You just attach them to your account. I preordered last time and I think we ended up with four or five cards.

So do I.... I actually always want to deactivate it but then always decide not to- it is the easiest way to stay in touch with many.

Me too! But then if I did that, sadly, I would isolate myself .... not just family but friends. I've noticed more and more that I am invited to stuff via FB so if I don't check, I don't know. Plus, if I deactivated from FB, how would I know how many loads of laundry some of my friends have done :lmao:

I believe that you can add as many cards to your account - there is always the situation where you could have forgotten your card and the PP photographer gives you another one - as you wish even with a pre-order.

If you pre-order, they usually send you a card. Not always. Sometimes they send out cards to everyone that gets Mickey Mail. It's kind of random.

The pre-order is not actually related in any way to the physical cards. The pre-order basically just gives you a credit for purchasing the CD. You can attach as many cards as you want to your account. We usually end up with one per adult in our group. I recommend not entering them into your account until you get back though. You don't want to inadvertently start your 30-day countdown.

So whether you pre-order or not, you take any cards that they send your or you get cards in the park and take lots of pictures. At the end of the trip you have 30 days to "claim" those pictures by entering the card number into your account. You then have 30 days from the day you enter the card to edit pics and order your CD (using the credit that will be associated with your account).

I do recommend writing down the number of any card you use (or take a phone pic). That way if you lose a card, you can still retrieve your pics by entering the number.

Does that make sense? I love PP and we've done it on every trip. So don't hesitate to ask if you have any more questions.

*lol* I slept in this morning with that wonderful extra hour. ;) Actually we haven't slept much the past two weeks but that is over now. For the next four weeks I only have three important things on my plate:

1. Christmas Shopping
2. Thanksgiving at our house (I just have to clean; DH cooks and DSis bakes)
3. Disney!!!

My remaining Disney list is mostly craft stuff and TPs:

1. Character Ornaments for the Tree(s)
2. Garland
3. Door Signs /Wreaths
4. Wrap 12 Days presents
5. Make message cards for 12 Days
6. Fill Mousekeeping envelopes
7. Print CM Appreciation Cards
8. Put Together Pin Trading package
9. Buy 1 more Pixie Dust gift for everyone (Plan B)
10. Plan B Touring Plans
11. Print & Assemble Epcot Holiday Passport
12. Order Air Bed & Christmas Tree(s)
13. Prepare More Autograph Cards
14. Hold Mail, Produce & Dairy Delivery
16. Pack

And, of course, I have to nail down Plan A or B on Nov 27. I'm treating that as an exercise in remaining calm. ;)

Could you share more about the pin trading packages and Epcot holiday passports? I have read a little about the pin trading but we didn't even attempt it last year becausevDD's were obsessed with getting autographs and that took up a lot of time!

Also, does anyone know if you can ship packages to CSR? Last year I shipped gifts to the Poly that the concierge brought to our room. They were princess dresses and accessories for our DD's "from Cinderella" along with an invitation to dine in the Castle. I would like to do that again this year and also send a small tree and decorations. Maybe the CSR thread has that info....

Hope that works. I'm trying this from my phone :) but that should be all the info you need... CSR is a convention resort so there is a pick up fee...

Does anyone have a picture of the most recent resort mug? We have one we purchased in May 2011 and I tried looking online to see if it has changed and the only one I could find looks identical to the one I have. Just find it odd that it hasn't changed at all. For awhile it seemed they were changing yearly either in what was on the mug or the shape of the mug.

This is the one I have.

You can ship to any of the resorts. Though some of the resorts that regularly host conferences charge an extra feel and require you to pick up at the shipping office.

Here's the Shipping sticky:

This will be our first time doing pin trading. DS10 asked for it this time and I thought that since both he and my FIL are big collectors (FIL collects coin) generally, it was something they would enjoy doing together. So may plan was to put together a starter kit with lanyards and pins and a book. And give them to them before the trip (in a Disney box "shipped" from Mickey, of course). Now the plan is somewhat on hold while I wait to find out if my FIL will be able to go. But I did buy the pins and lanyards and hopefully the book will ship soon.

These are some of the resources I used to learn about Pin Trading:

This is the book I'm waiting for. It was delayed in production but should ship soon. I've asked about it so often that they're sending me a free copy as soon as it prints. ;)

I ended up buying 2 25-pin lots from this seller. They are all sets on cards. You can find sellers that sell bulk pins much cheaper but this was a good price
and reduces my chances of fakes and scrappers.

Gave in and called t-Rex directly. We have a ressie for dec 26. Turns out they have a lot more availability then through wdw.

Not sure how much you know about Epcot passports in general, so forgive me if I give you too much info.

Epcot World Showcase has what they call "Kidcot" stations in each country. It's basically a table, manned by a CM where kids can color or do some kind of craft. Epcot also sells a Passport - little blue book that looks like a passport and comes with a page and stickers for each country. There's a space in each book for the Kidcot CM to stamp it and usually write a little message in the language of that country.

The original passport looks like this and can be purchased in WDW for like $10 or $12.

We've already done that passport so last trip we did a different one that I got off the Creative DISigns board. Here's an example:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2757931

The holiday passport I'm using is from donatalie, a designer that's no longer active. But it's still available on Photobucket.

Right now, I'm trying to fit the pages together so I can print them front to back on folded pages. If I can get that done, I'll share. Makes it much easier to put together that way.

Hope that helps. :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for all the great info and links! I will read through them more tonight. For now I'm off to DD's Brownie bridging ceremony. Have a great Sunday afternoon all!

Just got back from Upstate NY and came home to.....

MICKEY MAIL!!!!!! :woohoo:  :cool1:

I was checking in with DH while I was away and asked yesterday if we got any mail. DH goes out to check and lo and behold there is our Mickey Mail! My mom and brother should be getting their's by tomorrow since ours was forwarded by our TA's office.

I'll try and catch up with this thread later, if I can.

On another note, I was VERY happy to hear that the NYC marathon was cancelled. Which made it a lot easier for us to get home since there weren't a lot of cars on the road. We had no problem getting gas in upstate NY, but the closer you got to NYC and Long Island, the more gas stations were closed b/c they ran out of gas over the weekend. Stations that did have gas are limiting customers to only 10 gallons. Gas is coming in and should be delivered between today and tomorrow. The government is hoping to have everything back to normal on the gas front by Tuesday or Wednesday.

Now, I hear that we're supposed to get a Nor'Easter by Thursday, the day I was planning on going grocery shopping (DH gets paid this week) :headache: Here we go again!

I just this minute read about the second storm coming in .... really hope it dissipates by then

I'm glad you made it home safely!

I'm still waiting for Mickey Mail. :confused3

DBF is supposed to be commuting to New Brunswick, NJ this week (he drives down) but with the gas issues I'm hoping the boss allows him to work from home. I just think it's stupid that he has to drive down there when the client doesn't interact with him at all.. :rolleyes2

I'm hoping we don't get anymore bad weather.

Today is my do nothing day. Except watch football and drink mimosas.

Ok, I asked this on the family board as well but wanted to see what you all think as well...

Our trip is now just over 20 days away and I am now realizing that pretty much all of my ADRs are during or too close to the time I would like to have my son nap back at the resort.

When I booked my ADRs his nap schedule was much different than it is now. He now naps 11:30-1:30. Unfortunately I have ADR's at Le Cellier, Tusker House, Chef Mickey and Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package.

Obviously these are all high demand restaurants. I really want to get dinner time or anything after 2:30. Do cancellations come up that regularly? With only 23 days I feel really pinched to get this figured out. I really don't want to cancel my reservations for fear of not finding anything better. I have been watching the cancellation boards and Disneys site but not much has came up.

So.... any advice? I've thought of downgrading to quick service because I feel that if I cant get the restaurants I really want I don't want to compromise. I'm just so disappointed. I really thought I had a solid plan. Being a first time mom I just didn't think about how much things could change in a matter of months.

Yay for Mickey Mail! My travelling companion got hers yesterday for both the value part of their stay and the OKW ME tags we are both supposed to get for the same night ... unfortunately the mail takes longer to get to me, so I'm hoping to see my ME tags within the week ...

Saw Wreck It Ralph yesterday; it was very very well done. It kind of felt more like a Pixar than a Disney movie though, you could definitely see John Lasseter's hand in it. I highly recommend everybody see it when you get a chance. Its got that universal sort of appeal.

Everybody is so quiet on the weekends, I think we're safe on not starting the new thread until Monday Tofubeast! :upsidedow

How old is your son and when are your ADRs? WDW also has the ability to change a nap schedule, for instance he might wake later in the morning... Last year my 10 week old slept 12 hours straight every night(AHHHHH-MAAAAAYYY-ZIIINNGGG) and she is and was even then a horrible sleeper. So maybe if you can't change the ADRs your schedule might change because your surroundings changed....

I want to see it! We went to nemo 3d and I could barely get my daughter through half of it... So I'll probably wait until its released on blu ray....

We are so quiet on the weekends... I'm having a super lazy day today....
