Happy Disney 2017

Here's a prediction for me. Express transportation will continue and the price will increase even though they don't have packed buses. People are using it and loving it.

What would you say is a fair price? At $24 for a multi-day pass, it kind of seems like a steal (I don't want to say that too loud). I would probably pay upwards of $10 per person per day (ideally $7) if the following conditions continue to be met:

  • Buses arrive and depart on (or near) schedule. Not having to guess when the bus comes and being able to potential plan for departing/arrival times seems pretty nice.
  • Quick travel time (since it's backstage routes)
  • Only having to go through security upon entrance to the first park
Maybe I'm crazy, but I think that would be a pretty fair price. Mind you, I do have a "couples" mindset. If they had some kind of family/group plan where the more people in your party the less per person per day would be nice. Something like

  • 0-3 people = $10/person/day
  • 4-8 people = $8/person/day
  • 8+ people = $6/person/day
But knowing how these things go they'll probably just increase the price until no one uses the service anymore.

$24 for 7 days is a steal. I could see this going up to like $35ish for the first increase.

For some reason I thought the price was per person! That is a steal!

I've heard rumblings of a brand new Frontierland attraction for the 50th Anni.

Yeah, he likes to be able to say he's a DVC member and likes the VIP access to Top of the World and the Epcot member lounge along with the invitation only DVC events.

Oh, ok...I was thinking more "the 33rd Earl of Kent and the Grand Duchy of Farquhar" when you said "status"...perks you mean?

"Complimentary" Wdw transportation is one of the primary selling points for the massively above retail wdw resort rates...

...am I the only one seeing this one starting to roll downhill?

@rteetz this "new Tomorrowland attraction" you speak of...do you think this will be the Stitch redo, or a brand new attraction in addition to that? Are we thinking we could potentially get the Tron coaster from Shanghai [she asked, optimistically]? :)

...not at all. It would be a replacement for stitch.

Honestly...not only does the land need a new refurbishment (20 years is a long time for "tomorrow")...speedway needs to go, COP probably as well...and buzz is dated. Monsters inc isn't great but at least that's a good IP tie in.

They won't pay for all that...but stitch is at the breaking point now.

Well I don't see many changes with the current free transportation but more paid for transportation options are very possible.

I agree with everything you said except for that. I know it's old, I know the last scene is severely outdated, and I know people use it as an escape from the heat, but the day they get rid of CoP is the day I start my grieving process. Yes, I love it that much. It's the only thing in that park that Walt physically worked on, and it means something to me. /rant

Totally agree. CoP needs to stay. I'd MUCH rather see them do something--anything--with the Tomorrowland Speedway instead. Unless they did a massive overhaul and added "Cars" IP and made a better ride, I'd say it's time to kiss that attraction goodbye :crazy2:

Nostalgia types like me will always love carousel. I love the park history...

But...BUT...it doesn't gobble up people where they need it. And that's prime cabana space ;)

And we all have watched what has happened: taking away older/educational attractions to save pennies and provide crap for kids.

Do we need to discuss Norway again?
...didn't think so.

Well yes, but he just likes the fact he's a DVC member and can say he is.

My husband grew up poor. Everything in our adult married life is far beyond his wildest dreams, so for him this is a status thing and not just perks

How is Disney massively above retail on value and moderate?
