***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

You know, I do this every time and they still block me with some purchases. I then have to call them again and re-iterate that it's me spending all this money in Florida.

I thought I was the only person this happened to! :sad2: Seriously happens every time we travel, and every time I notify them by phone and in the bank branch. We actually had a situation last year where we tried to check into our resort in the Dominican Republic and my cc was declined! I spent a very stressful 1/2 hour trying to call an 800 number from another country (no small feat if you don't speak the language fluently), before I finally got it all straightened out. In hindsight, most of the trip was a bust. Despite being at a beautiful beach resort, the trip started off with chaos in the airport baggage claim when a fight broke out, a private transfer where the driver couldn't find the hotel, and when we were getting dropped off at the lobby, a car next to us literally blew up and caught on fire! The worst part of the trip is I ended up getting one mosquito bite that infected me with the chikungunya virus (it's similar to dengue or Zika.)
Yeah...I won't be going back to the DR any time soon after that disaster. LOL

Well, the deed is done. I've cancelled our JBJB dessert party. Many thanks to everyone who worked so hard to help us score the reservation in the first place!! I hope there aren't any hard feelings about that. :grouphug: I'm so happy there's still a big group from this thread going that night. Hope you all have a wonderful time!

We will miss you! Will you be in HS? We will be on the lookout for your crew, if you will be.

I got a call this afternoon from American Express for fraudulent charges on my account. They caught them instantly and called me within a minute. It was on my husband's card (4th or 5th time this has happened to us!). It happened in August/September as well. So annoying because they cancelled the card and we won't get another one until Saturday. I pray this doesn't happen to us again while we are on our trip. It would stink to not have our card!

YES!! Happened to us 2 times in the last 4 or 5 years. My DH gets e-mails with every purchase. Good thing I'm the main income or else I'd be in serious trouble with all of the e-mails that he gets :rolleyes1

That sounds like trip from hell!

I'm swamped at work this week and stressing that I don't have much done for Thanksgiving. AND, I have to travel 6 hours to Virginia on Saturday morning, go to my uncle's 80th birthday party, and then come back really early on Sunday to get finished with cleaning/prep!!

whelp I was able to pick up my LTT 1pm backup again. so weird how long it took to get back into the system.

Still really leaning toward skipper canteen. the arepas look so good and the kungaloosh, while no ooey gooey toffee cake, looks pretty damn good too. Kiddo is very into the volcano. with the 20% off it would actually be as cheap as any QS because that would pay for the tip!

I'm leaving in 8 days, 9 hours, and 10 minutes! :earseek:I'm still so not ready, but slowly getting there. It's going to be a crazy busy weekend and they are forecasting snow!

I finally think I have enough shirts. I ended up getting a mix of Disney and non-Disney shirts at various places. I got 4 shirts at the Disney store and was really excited to get the villains shirt to wear to Club Villain. I have one Harry Potter shirt for a Universal day (DH has a Gryffindor Quiddich and I have a Ravenclaw one). The rest are just plain old shirts that I'll get lots of use of after the trip. I needed more work clothes anyway. I still have to finish pants shopping. I ordered a backpack on Amazon last night. We have 2 but one is way too big and one is too small. Ordering a "just right" size was easier than trying to make either of those work for a park bag.

My plans are nowhere near finalized! I still have extra ADRs and uncertain days/times on where we are going. Fitting in a night at Disney Springs is harder than it should be for me. I haven't touched my touring plans since the night before my FP day. So much to do!

Today at lunchtime at work I'm going to print the pocket guides for penny pressing machine locations. I finished the tough task of emptying the mini m&m containers last night. ;)

Glad you got it back! I thought you were in the dining plan. Do you have to pay out of pocket for these meals, or had you already used your allocation prior to deciding on this ADR.

I'm hosting and unfortunately my guests are not the cooking type so it will all fall to me...truth is I really enjoy hosting the holidays but in past years I only worked part-time so I was able to give myself some extra time to get everything done.

Yes the tree is going up Thanksgiving whether my guests want to help or not...may have to threaten no football if they don't help :)
Great idea! "For every ornament hung with care, 5 minutes of football is yours to share!" :cheer2:

Not like you can't join in on the other side of the divider of whatever area the party goers stand. . . ? Understand though--it's a lot for me and the boy, who is a WDW "adult". Looks like I'll need to drink his share for him. . . :drinking1

@areno79 omg what a nightmare trip!! :scared1:

@JamieOak can you list what you need? Or maybe what your most current schedule? Maybe talking about it would help a bit ;) glad you got your shopping done! I need to start looking at what clothes to pack soon. I'm at 14 days today!

@Lisa F i think by the way reviews are for LTT lately maybe you will be better off at skippers? For me I like the skippers menu better. :)

OMG! I almost lost my coffee on the "car next to us literally blew up" part!

I vote for Skipper's Canteen. But that's purely because I really want to eat there, so would love to hear how it is, lol.

So it seems like Disney uses that bizarro 'shipping partner' for everything. I just checked the tracking on my Finding Dory order from Disney Movie Club and it just made its way from Bensenville, IL to York, PA, the same route as both of my mb orders. It just seems like there must be some more efficient shipping routes they could use!

I think you just managed to sway me--I forgot about the AP discount here. I actually have a 3:45 "dinner" (Linner?) on our party day, and may stick with that one instead of BOG??? I know, I know. But the BOG is at 6:45, so prime party time. . . what to do???

I am landing at 10am on Friday and spending night at AKL kidani and OOP. Next day I check into BWV for 4 nights and am doing the DxDDP but spreading the credits over 5 full days. On wednesday I am checking out of BWV, checking into Poly villas but using my credits that day. So then paying OOP Thursday and Friday and breakfast Saturday morning. Kiddo has an AP so it turns out that a bunch of my stuff is 20% off - Skipper Canteen, Sanaa, Whispering Canyon breakfast are all less expensive and additional 20% off. I will probably end up paying less than a QS at Skipper Canteen since I am leaning toward the arepas appetizer as my meal and it is only $9.50. The 20% off will make the tip a wash there. My expensive things like H&V Seasonal Dine with F! and Narcoosees planned lobster are all under DxDDP.

I think people are just ticked about the menu change but I am ok with it. The thing is I do not think that they planned well for adding the AYCTE which is extending people's meals and now they are getting VERY backed up. I do not want to wait 45 minutes to be seated on my very first day! So that is more my concern. But yes there are about a half dozen things on the SC menu I'd like to try. I am kind of between the pork and the arepas. The arepas look SO good, I love plantains and I am thinking it would be a different flavor profile entirely than my following meals at Sanaa, Tusker House, Yak & Yeti. The rest of my choices would be pretty similar to Y&Y in flavor profile and more asian than south american. Also it's cheap and will leave room for dessert! $9.50 for what looks better than any CS meal at twice that price.

as you can see, highly leaning that way. I just don't like my choices taken away from me lol.

I would not take up party time. there already seems to be not enough party time without devoting 90 minutes to dinner! When is your party? I'm going to SC first thing, lunch on 12/2. I'd be happy to let you know what I think after I eat there.

LOL, I have that problem with Teepublic. They shipped my order since Nov 2. On Nov 12, it said arrived at destination country and processed at local distribution center. Then on Nov 14, it says transport to destination country from IL. :confused3

Yup, I agree with LTT. The arepas seem to get very good reviews on the dining review boards. I'm also tempted to try that along with the siu mai which i know my son will eat. :) The fish seem to get really good reviews so I'll probably go with that choice. I'll be on dxdp when I have my ADR there so apps and desserts it is! LOL.

I almost didn't recognize you with your new profile pic! So festive, I love it.

I probably will have to post for advice soon. I have something like 5 BOG ADRs to pick one from and no ADRs in Disney Springs. I'm quite certain I want to drop the BOG dinner on my MVMCP night, that is an easy decision since now I have others to pick from. Hopefully some of you awesome folks are around this weekend to help me!

the whole lionfish? it gets great reviews but my son would be gagging the whole time. $1 oyster night at the local place in January is always a challenge with him.

I have the following to cancel (MVMCP night). I'll cancel on 11/18 if nobody is interested.

Be Our Guest Dinner
Date: Thursday, December 1, 2016
Time: 6:20 PM
Guests: 2 Adults

LOL, yes, either that or the sustainable fish or the heads on shrimp... :D Your poor child will get traumatized with me! Do not order chicken feet at Chinese dimsum! :rotfl:
