Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Our flight going home is now 5:45 pm so expecting MDE by 2:45 pm. We have an ADR at CMC at 1050 am.

What can we do in the mean time? We won't have enough time to do DTD and we won't want to do the pool since we won't like getting dressed in the facilities. I like having a room to change.

Any ideas?

You could rent a bike or boat. We are spending our last hour in Japan, Epcot because my kids love that place and we are within a known walking distance to Magical Express.

I check accuweather, weather, wunderground, and the hurricane app. Any others to fuel my obsession?

Those are terrific - I haven't checked the hurricane app for previous trips, but I'll add it to my list for my late September trip this year!

Someone recommended to me to also check the local weather forecasts - WOFL, WKMG, WFTV, WESH. They probably all come from the same sources, but it's funny how each one can be different sometimes! Have fun! :-)

Teena, if I'm ever able to make the great dis road trip happen, we will bring you as much sweet corn as you could eat. I just traded in my Ford Flex for another Ford Flex, with an extra seat and a navigation system, in case we get lost. No entertainment system, though. We'll just kidnap Ninja Mom for that.

If I get to throw the nickle in the toll baskets I will agree to this. Do you have room in your vehicle for my special Ninja Mom car sear?? It's got a heated seat, Recliner and massage features, 12 cup holders and a stereo system with a noise cancelling function for quieting unruly children.

I would either do a walk through of WS in EOCOT or rent boats from the marina

I don't take all my credit cards or my "real" purse to Disney. I take one credit card and my ID, along with some cash. I pack it in a smaller purse or my new favorite is to throw it all in a small string bag. But I do take it into the park. :) I put what I don't need into the carry on and leave that with Bell Services.

Same here. I actually don't bring a proper "purse" to Disney, or even on the plane. I have a lightweight LeSportsac Kasey crossbody bag, and keep my ID, credit card, tipping cash, insurance card and phone (and maybe lipstick!) in it. My housekeys stay tucked away in my suitcase. And we carry a small backpack with all of the kid/baby stuff we need (including sunblock, hand sanitizer, diapers, wipes, etc.) I've worn the crossbody bag on all rides, no problem.

If you don't feel like dropping into Epcot for a short visit then you can play billiards in the villas building. They have a lovely room with a billiard table and television set. We were killing time while the housekeeper clean our room and I started to play billiards to pass the time. I was so pathetic at it that DH finally decided to join me to show me how it was done. We passed a pleasant forty-five minutes in that room.

Just a tip - the Solarium is a great place to wait for the Magical Express. You can see the bus coming down the drive and you will be waiting in air conditioned comfort instead of the hot, humid Florida weather. There are some board games there, too.

Only 23 more days until our Beach Club stay!! My granddaughters are very excited, my grandson is only 1 and doesn't understand yet!! My son and his family will be there for only part of our trip, but we will be celebrating my daughter-in-law being 1 year cancer free. keeping our fingers crossed it continues. Cannot wait to see Teena and enjoy some relaxing time at Storm a long Bay!!
Your trip sounds GREAT celebrating your DIL cancer free! HOPE THE GREAT NEWS continues for your family!:cheer2: ENJOY!:thumbsup2

That's a great idea - especially when the weather zaps your energy and makes you feel and look like a wet rag.

There is also a TV in the Solarium, and the Marketplace is about a one minute walk away for refreshments or last-minute shopping.

We can't do a park day. We are using the magical deal and are only able to get 8 day park tickets (their limit) and we are there for 10 nights/11 days. We have our time filled up so check out day is a non park day along with two other rest days.

I would love to stroll through Epcot on departure day.

Billiards sounds like a great idea. My boyfriend likes to play and he's pretty good at it. Sometimes we even go to a billards place and play. DS would enjoy it too.

But now I'm thinking if I should make our CMC breakfast ADR for the morning we do Blizzard Beach. When we do water parks at home we always have a big breakfast before heading to the water park. We have Yachtsman that night too.

Then cancel CMC breakfast for departure day and decide what we want to do that morning. Maybe head to DTD and eat lunch at WPE (we have no DTD time planned all trip...I'm not a huge fan but I've always wanted to try WPE). Maybe take a peak at the GF and have breakfast at GFC. Or just relax and do billiards.

Decisions....decisions.....

No news on the YC side of things yet, Here's the post from page one....

We leave in 5 days! ACK! I haven't started packing yet! Or hit the grocery for our snacks/breakfasts for the hotel room. I am feeling a little overwhelmed as I try to think of what we will need!! DH tells me to relax, we can buy it there if we forget it, but I don't want to spend the extra on disney prices when I could bring from home!

What sort of snacks do you bring (or order from garden grocer?) We are going to get soda, water, oatmeal, cereal, ???? and I have no idea!

We order breakfast things, bananas, apples, oranges - just a few, juice, coffee, case of water, soda, beer, wine, cheese, crackers, chips and salsa and other snacks

I was going to suggest visiting other resorts; it's one of our favorite things to do. If you cancel your morning breakfast, you could grab a bite to eat at whichever resort you visit. We also enjoy visiting the Boardwalk area; you could easily spend some time there before you need to catch ME.

We're just back from 4 nights at Beach Club!! We were in room 4727, on the corner closest to YC, facing SAB (upgrade from standard view - yay!). It's a HUGE room with a king bed, a fold out sleeper chair, and two Juliet balconies. It was an 8 minute walk from the lobby though, and we couldn't find a better way to get there other than using the main elevators. The refurbished rooms are gorgeous, and the beds are SO COMFY!

As far as the refurbishment progress goes, 1501 and the rooms around it have furniture! They'll probably be ready soon.

And finally, we got one of the fake pizza delivery ads under our door on Sunday night. We googled the name and it was a scam, not that we were planning on getting a pizza anyway. I turned it in to the front desk yesterday morning. Be on the lookout for sketchy stuff!

Maybe I could tow a small airstream trailer?

Umm.... Donuts...

~NM

We discovered the shop on our last trip. Man were those good little donuts.

I made it through two days of day-long meetings. Just three days to go and I'm out of the office for a week!
