I always feel weird about posting my exact city but there is a good chance we are in the same town...lol we are flying to FL in 3 weeks and 1 day!

I'm so excited! We just booked a Disney cruise for next June, and we're planning on a few days at Universal and a week at WDW afterward. Since we're flying all of the way across the country, we figured we'd make the most of it. I went to book a resort at WDW, and was shocked to see that BC standard and garden views were already all gone for our June 2016 dates! But YC was available in a garden view, so I snapped that up. Last time we were at WDW (2014) we stayed at YC and loved it, so we're looking forward to doing it again. Maybe even the same room... Anyhow, I'm glad to be back in the BC/YC lovers' thread, and planning a WDW trip! So, what's the skinny on YC refurbishment? I see a lot of stuff in the OP about the BC and BCV, but nothing about YC refurbishment dates?

No news on the YC side of things yet, Here's the post from page one....

RESORT REFURBISHMENT NEWS Updated when credible information received

Beach Club- Started October 2014
Refurbishment of rooms currently in progress. Club level lounge, 5th floor, 4th floor, 3rd floor, 2nd floor completed. Work ongoing on 1st floor rooms. Expected to finish by end of summer if work remains on schedule.
Yacht Club- room refurbishments expected to begin when the Beach Club renovation is finished, however a start date and time table have not been announced.
Beach Club Villas- expected refurbishment has been postponed. New start date has not been announced.

Reminder for those who fly Southwest, the booking window opens today for travel through 04/16/2016.

It has not yet opened, as of this time, but should be open early this morning.

Update: Schedule is now open. Amazingly enough, some spring break flights to/from MCO are already sold out for WGA fares (lowest fare buckets).

I obsessively check the 10-day forecast once I'm in that window, on multiple websites!

I check accuweather, weather, wunderground, and the hurricane app. Any others to fuel my obsession?

I've booked and IllumiNations fireworks cruise for NEXT Sunday, August 16. We are a family of 3 (me, DW and DS(12)) looking for up to 7 others to join us and split the cost of the cruise. It's $346.13 with tax total. Looking to divide the total cost by the number of cruisers or split 50/50 with another family of 3-5 people. Park admission is not required.

I posted this in the "IllumiNations and Wishes Cruises - Find One To Share" thread in the "Theme Parks Community" sub-board of the "Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies" board but thought I would duplicate that post here since the cruise launches from the Yacht Club pier.

Is anyone interested in joining us?

Yes, brand spanking new! It was wonderful, had that new smell! That whole section was completed. There are no old rooms available, as the 1500 section was closed off and is the last part to be finished. Have a great time!

Sweet! Was the secret entrance blocked due to refurb in the last section?

Teena, if I'm ever able to make the great dis road trip happen, we will bring you as much sweet corn as you could eat. I just traded in my Ford Flex for another Ford Flex, with an extra seat and a navigation system, in case we get lost. No entertainment system, though. We'll just kidnap Ninja Mom for that.

Sounds like a plan and especially the Ninja Mom part!! LOL

We live 20 minutes from PHL airport but bought our tickets to fly out of Baltimore due to prices.

I've been STALKING Southwest's site seeing if rates drop and we can switch to PHL. A few times I've missed it by seconds. Had the tickets in my cart and within 2 seconds they jumped by 100's.

Yesterday they went down and I called SW to change my flights since I couldn't do it online. The first person couldn't help me. Told me they weren't that cheap. That I would have to pay a lot OOP. Said she couldn't see my credits (changed my Baltimore flights twice when those rates dropped). Just very unhelpful and like she didn't know the system well.

I called back 5 minutes later and spoke to someone else. She was very helpful and moved all 4 of us to fly out of Philly and I still have about $75 in credits!!

I had to share my excitement. It's one less thing to worry about. No trip to Baltimore, no hotel overnight from there. We can sleep in our own beds and go to the airport we are familiar with.

We are so excited! Only 15 more days until WDW.....20 more days until the BC!

What sort of snacks do you bring (or order from garden grocer?) We are going to get soda, water, oatmeal, cereal, ???? and I have no idea!

We are a party of 2 adults and we usually order the following snacks from GG: fruit cups (I'm too picky to let someone else pick out fresh fruit), a block of cheese, crackers, small jar of salsa, scoop chips, nutrigrain or fiber bars, and maybe a pack of cookies to keep DH happy....

I am right outside of Ocean City and work right outside of Atlantic City. Nice to see so many from the Philly/ South jersey area!

Our flight going home is now 5:45 pm so expecting MDE by 2:45 pm. We have an ADR at CMC at 1050 am.

What can we do in the mean time? We won't have enough time to do DTD and we won't want to do the pool since we won't like getting dressed in the facilities. I like having a room to change.

Any ideas?

I like to bring granola/breakfast bars, pretzels, dry banana chips, cereal, fruit snacks, hot cocoa packets, tea bags; we use the snack size zip lock bags to fill with treats for snacks in the long lines this time of year. We typically get the oatmeal (3 of 4 in party) and the egg croissant sandwich (4th party member) from the counter service (Beach Club Marketplace this time!) for breakfast. I saw the donuts, cupcakes, and fruit tarts in the pictures from the Marketplace - so I'll just buy some of those along with water and half & half to keep in the mini-fridge for late night munchies. Buying from Garden Grocer made food time less magical; I ordered way too much to get delivery/volume discounts that we just left for the unlucky mousekeeper to remove. Oddly enough - no one wanted a piece of fruit during the minimal hours we were in the resort room. We want to get the refill mugs, so we won't need to buy sodas. And, sunken treasures will not magically appear out of my checked luggage and are not available from Garden Grocer. My countdown is 5 days, 19 hours, and 1 minute.

The last few times I stayed at the BC, the ME had scheduled pick-up times of five minutes and 35 minutes past the hour.
