Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

We check in on the 20th! Our plane lands at 9:00. What time are you checking out? Maybe we can cross paths in the BC CL lounge! If not, hope you have the most magical trip and have fun at HRH (we love it there too)!
I'll be the one crying in the lounge LOL, we actually changed to Portofino ;) I have EPCOT FP for 1130am on so I'll be trying to stay at BC as long as possible :) Here's to hoping your flight is on time so (selfishly) I can meet you!!
Teena: you do a wonderful job making everyone feel welcome! Can't wait to see you in September!
Cheers to that, I wholeheartedly agree!!!

Hi Teena, we're checking in on Thursday for 9 days. I hope to at least to be able to say Hi to you. Thanks for your contribution to the board, I've been learning a lot :)

Now, if anyone can help me on this, if I understand correctly, we will get mousekeeping services in the morning and evening? Do you usually leave tips twice a day then?

Are you staying in a Deluxe room or CL? Non deluxe, non CL do not have twice daily housekeeping.
To answer your questions, Yes I tip each time the Mousekeeper comes to my room. Nightly turndown service is so nice. I usually leave $2/person in the morning and $1/person in the evening.
Enjoy

Hi! I'm sure this has been asked and answered before but I can't find the answer. Is there a way other than walking or waiting for the boats to start running to get to DHS early for rope drop? We went to a morning EMH last year at rope drop and waited for the boats. By the time we got there the lines were huge already. Do the busses run at all early in the morning? Or is my only option to walk if I want to get there before 7:45?

I'd like to know as well. I arrive tomorrow and will be going to DHS on Thursday.

Yes, born in South Jersey, raised my family in the Harrisburg area (thanks to hubby's job) and then retired to Florida over 11 years ago. Yep, I miss the Northeast's tomatoes, corn and Tastycakes and now that Wawa has arrived here, I'm a happy camper (love the hoagies and pretzels). I'll be traveling out to my daughter's to help her in her classroom (and of course to see Princess Lily) ... I leave next Tuesday but will be back to work on 8/30. Still thinking I might hop on the Disney Fantasy for a week on 9/12 but nothing definite on that yet. We'll probably decide this week.

Teena, we've never met but I will be arriving tomorrow afternoon and will at least say hello and thank you for all the great insight you share on this board. Nine of us are headed your way!

Hi everyone!

Checking in next week. I know that the main floor rooms of the BC are currently being refurbished. I'm wondering from anyone who has been there recently if they started from the middle and are working there way to the end, (towards Epcot) or vice versa.

Any info. is very much appreciated
Thanks!
Just came back last Tuesday. We stayed on the first floor in the 1600 section. There was still work being done on the 1500 section, which I guess would be closer to Epcot and Villas. Never heard anything.

Has anyone ever requested beach view at BC. Our first choice, BWI boardwalk view was not available. We have a water view room reserved at BC, but in the past had a quiet pool view and didnt love it...we really want a full balcony too!

26 days to go!!! Safe travels to everyone in the next couple weeks. Sounds like there will be a lot of us crossing paths soon!!!

Single digits today! Another milestone reached!! Now I can start checking the 10 day Orlando weather forecast!

Woooooo hoooooo!!

Jay

I always get excited when I can see the weather forecast for my trip. Especially when we go in Jabuary, so I can set reasonable expectations about pool time.

I live near Cherry hill! Grew up in philly.

We will be there sept 6 and 7 a Sunday and Monday...I look for you to say hello!

Nineteen days to go. Got our reservations for the spa at SOG, Jonny is no longer there, so sad, let you know if we like hector. All other reservations done, half packed and just waiting for the days to go by.

Did you have a refurbished room in the 1600 section?

I realized at some point last week that I never gave my TA our flight information, so we don't have the yellow tags for DME. I did email IPO and have us set up to take the bus. At first I thought, no biggie. We'll just collect our luggage and head to the bus. But now I'm thinking its me, my 12-year-old and a 3-year-old in a stroller. How workable is that - put the older kid to work pulling two suitcases while I pull a third and push the stroller. And probably tote all the carryons. I think I should save myself the literal backache and have a car pick us up.

I have had bag tags sent to me by 2nd day air. You can try calling DME directly at (866) 599-0951 and explain your situation; they might be able to get tags sent out in time.

Otherwise. I understand that you can go directly to the Magical Express customer service counter at MCO, and give them your airline claim checks. They can pull your bags and transport them directly to your resort.

I'll have to try that. I'd rather take DME. I think, especially when you first get there, it's fun to watch the videos and get excited. On the way home.. They should just play Old Yeller.

The "Tragic Depress"...as Ninja Mom calls it...Old Yeller would be perfect, since everyone feels like crying anyway! Maybe the scene from Dumbo where his mom is in jail and he comes to see her...that one does me in just thinking about it...."Baby mine, don't you cry...." sniff sniff sniff....

Please let us know how it works out. I have found the phone reps at DME to be extremely cooperative and helpful. If you explain your dilemma on the phone, ASAP, they just might be able to come through for you.

:goodvibes

40 days to go and we are so excited! Thanks everyone on this thread for being so helpful!

We are staying at the BC, water view room, we would like a full balcony and that is the only request that I have made when I spoke to the CM when making my reservations. I am about to do online check in and also will confirm a week before our trip but I am making the assumption that if I ask for a full balcony it will be in a room between floors 2 and 4 and NOT on the 1st floor which I would say is a patio and not a balcony. Is this wrong? Our 1st request is the balcony but I would also like to be on the higher floors. I didn't want to request a higher floor at first because I thought that if they saw both requests that maybe they would only give us the higher floor and not the full balcony? Since we have a water view room I was also not sure if they are on the higher floors already. Thanks for all your help! Denise
