Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

I have a question.

We get in at 11 am but are first part is at the Poly. When we arrive if our room isn't ready we can leave our belongings with bell services and go straight to a park.

Do you ladies leave your purse with bell services? I'm taking my purse on the plane. We go bagless into the parks. I carry maybe a credit card, $20 and my ID. I'm worried about leaving my purse with all of my cards and cash and at the same time I don't want to carry it around with me. What do you ladies do about that?

I don't take all my credit cards or my "real" purse to Disney. I take one credit card and my ID, along with some cash. I pack it in a smaller purse or my new favorite is to throw it all in a small string bag. But I do take it into the park. :) I put what I don't need into the carry on and leave that with Bell Services.

Yes you can leave your bags with bell services, you will have to call for them to be delivered to your room when you are in your room, sadly they no longer just take them up.

I don't take but one CC with me when I travel, my debit card and a little cash, my drivers license and that's it. No matter where I go, I leave the rest at home (wish Disney would take Macy's card but sadly they don't). I also only use a little cross body when I travel, o.k. I take 3 or 4 of them in my suitcase but still they are all little crossbodys. Well except for the clear plastic backpack and the AK mail carrier type bag. Lost track of my thoughts, all spare purses go in my suitcase, I travel with a small cross body with one CC, debit card, cash, ID and a poncho for the parks. I wouldn't store cash or CC's with bell services if you do decide to take them, take them to the front desk and ask them to put them in their safe.

Lock it in a suitcase...it is what I do! I bring electronics like an iPad etc which is in my carry-on so I just lock anything I do not want in my suitcase...if you do not have a suitcase because it is with DME, bring an extra lock and put your purse in a carry on and lock that part of the carry on. I have not had a problem, but I can understand your concern.

I may just use my carry on as my purse. I'm only bringing a credit card, debit card, ID, insurance card, some cash and our gift cards. I will also have the kids birth certificates. The gift cards can be a problem because it's two gift cards at about 1K each unless I use the disneygiftcard site to transfer balances once in Disney. I definitely wouldn't want to leave those with bell services or carry them into the park.

The idea of renting a locker at the parks if I have to is a great idea.

Our carry on doesn't have a lock. We are also going to bring our lap top and DD's ipad mini.

I just hope my room is ready. lol I did online check in and our flight lands at 11 am. Fingers crossed.

When we move over to the BC we have a VN ADR at 1130 am. I hope our room is ready that day too.

I'm at my 7 month booking window tomorrow and was really wanting to book a studio at BCV but with the delay do you guys think the renovations will be done in time for March 8th, 2016? Or would you book somewhere else just to stay safe?

I wish I could go bagless by my kids are little and I find I just need stuff. Last trip I carried my purse and it was a PITA. I got myself a little backpack for this time. If I normally carried nothing I would go with something like that for the afternoon so I could hold my whole wallet rather than giving to bell services. I bet your room will be ready anyway though! Last trip I got our text that our room was ready while we were still in our home airport!

(PS, off topic, by my WALT-er white shirt came in the mail and DH was happy--- i'll have my eyes out for you!)

That's the million dollar question since the refurb has been postponed (with latest unconfirmed info that it will begin after the first of the year).

I would talk to DVC Member Services directly if you are booking your 7-month via phone. In March, the refurb could be occurring and you may want to request a lower floor (since they started with the top floor at BC and worked their way down).

Since DVC usually has close to 100% occupancy, you may be taking a chance in being able to request a different room IF construction noise is an issue.

Sorry I can't be more helpful but we are a new DVC members and are learning the ropes ourselves. Aren't you glad you asked?! ;)

I'm hoping my room is ready both times! It's for the Poly on check in day adn then the BC 5 days later.

I'll be looking for you too! We check into the BC on 8/31!

What time do the boats usually start running from BC/YC to EPCOT and DHS in the morning? And how late do they run in the evenings? I know the walk to EPCOT from BC and YC is short, but I'll have a few people with me who will want to minimize walking and will also enjoy the boat ride. Thanks! :-)

At least an hour before/after park operating hours.

We did see a bear today on the way to our cabin from the airport. We pulled over to the side of the road. ill see if I can post it or send it to someone who can.
YAY! Isn't it exciting..of course from the safety of the car! How is the cabin?

I suggest travel locks for carry ons because once the bag is out of your hands and in an overhead bin, anyone can rifle through it easily. None of my carry on bags came with a lock but they all have double zippers that meet, at least in one section.

You can buy travel locks, they are cheap...I have been in the luggage area for poly...hubby forgot something and sent me in to get it, a cast member had to get another cast member to let me in to my bag.... and it is huge with tons of shelves holding tons of bags. I was not left alone while in there...but they did let me in there! I would suggest buying a cheap luggage combo lock that you can set. It usually has 3 digits and it is super easy to set.

Just put it through two zippers and you have a secure section of your bag, easy peasy. Even if you do not like the idea I decided to post this to help someone else who is in a similar predicament. I use one on my backpack. We carry lenses, full size iPads, etc...

I will definitely look into that! Thank you!

I think we will definitely need it because we plan on carrying our lap top and DD's ipad mini.

You can get a special TSA lock for your bag, where TSA can open it, if need be.
They are available from many sources, but something on this order:
