Hey folks! I just wanted to share an interesting article written by the Magic Man! Disney sent him a survey regarding deal-seeking behavior. Did any of you also get this survey???? If you did, please share thoughts.:thumbsup2

Guys, if you didn't get your resort of choice, just keep calling and checking the website. Also don't forget the room cancellation thread, you may see something you're looking for over there.

i love that this thread is still open! wonder if the powers that be are afraid that we'll gang up and drink all their rum if they shut it down?

Ok - this is our current plan:

Driving down/dchecking in September 27th and staying 27/28th staying at the Dolphin thanks to a great rate through Travelocity. On 9/29, checking in at POR for six nights/six day tickets with free dining.

Here is my question - It is possible to add a 1 day ticket (for Saturday 9/28) to our package at POR and pick up the ticket a day early? I know that I've read about picking up tickets early, but never really applied before to our situation. Thanks!

Keep trying! I have called every day since Thursday and just found availability for my dates at POR this morning when I woke up!:cool1::cheer2: I'll throw you some of my pixie dust.pixiedust:

And seriously, 269 pages? I am not giving up on this thread until it's closed!

Yay!!!!! :yay: Congrats! :goodvibes

Yay!!!!! :yay: Congrats! :goodvibes

Thanks so much! Very frustrating because my computer won't let me do anything with FD. Keeps kicking me out and saying server is busy.:badpc: The only time I've gotten on since Thursday is this am and I got what I wanted!:cheer2:

Go thread!

So I REFUSE to drive anywhere longer than 3 hours away. When I was newly married, DH was in military and we made several trips from Augusta, GA to NJ....vowed to never do it again....REGARDLESS of price. It is worth every penny (IMO) to fly for 3 hrs and be there instead of a long agonizing road trip. This is the most expensive time we've flown....4 people from ACY (with 4 bags each way) $1040.

Parking will probably be about $80 (at ACY)

9 days/8 nights at CBR - base tix 2 adults, 1 'Disney' adult and 1 child $2890

DH is going to do the dive again $140(ish)
Photo Pass Plus $150(ish)
Dessert party for DD bday $90(ish)
Probably $1k for souvenirs

Today's rough estimate $5,400

Still hoping to switch back to POR if something opens up for our dates... And wondering if there's a disadvantage being 3 hours behind here on the west coast. Meaning, if they update and release rooms overnight, then we'd be the last to be checking the systems. Do they? Does anybody know? Or is it completely random throughout the day?

Since I was able to land round trip for 3 for $600 I actually figured it out the other day and it's cheaper for us to fly rather then pay all that money for gas for the way down and back, a hotel room for 1 night & the extra food, not to mention the extra wear and tear on the vehicle. Flying will end up being about = now though because we are paying for a towncar to bring us to the airport and bring us home. But again, it's well worth it.

I posted this in part 3 because i thought we were done here, but I see everyone is still posting....soooo.....lol

I'm at SAHM/substitute teacher from NC (about 20 minutes from Fort Bragg)....am I the only southerner on here?!

No, I'm here. Also from NC just outside of Goldsboro so not that far from you. Don't have any advise on PP+ as we've never used it ~ I've always had PP photogs take family pics for us with no problems. What are your dates in November ~ we're going the 20th - 30th.

We live near Raleigh, NC. I am a SAHM, DH works in IT. I lead two Girl Scout troops and volunteer at school. First year with a middle schooler, so we will see how that goes this year. We spend about $7000, but we stay Deluxe (AKL) and go for 10 days, so it's all good.

I am from NC too!!! 20 minutes outside of Raleigh.:cool1:

Now I am off to find the new thread:drive:

Part 1 of this thread was my first on this site, and I am afraid it has ruined me for the other threads! I have joined two others...but the posts are so few and far between! I love that each time I check, I have pages to read here.

You are such a nice group to check in with many times a day. I worry what I will do when this thread comes to an end....well, except my job. School starts on Monday (for teachers), and kids come back on Wednesday...ahhh, the last week of summer.

I love all the "off-topic" as much at the free dining. This is a blast! Thanks to Dave for the link to this many days ago...

Do you have a shuttle service? Here in NJ we have a service called Rapid Rover....they pick your party (and luggage) up from your home and drop you off at the airport. It's a better deal for us when we fly out of PHL....parking at PHL typically runs about $100 (with tips)...and toll to cross the bridge. Rapid Rover doesn't charge for the kids, so the adults are usually about $40 (total).

Flying out of ACY, Rapid Rover charges over $100 because you're going near Atlantic City...parking at ACY is about $80 for our stay and you can express pay with your EZ pass.

It will only end if we let it.
