If you have an existing reservation at an eligible resort and you have already added a dinning plan, are you able to modify your reservation to take advantage of the free dining plan?

I haven't been on the boards today, so I have fallen about 100 pages behind. I'm not even going to attempt to catch up for once.

I was just wondering what families of 5-6 decided to if you didn't get your resort of choice? We were going to do AoA, but that obviously didn't work out. It was expensive, but the resort is just, wow!

We considered AsMu suites or 2 rooms at POP, but I just felt it wasn't worth the money. We thought about staying offsite, too. Eventually we decided for as much as it costs now - going from POR to getting bumped out of that category - maybe we would just go every other year instead. If we change our minds, we'll stay offsite, but I don't think we will.

Still keeping our eyes open for future offers.... guess I'll have to obsess about something else for a while. By the time we get back, I have a better shot of my youngest being 40 inches though!

We are a family of 7. We did 2 Pop rooms. Why is it that you think "it wasn't worth the money"?

I would hope so! I've never booked a Disney vacation before, but I have worked in marketing, and for/with Disney in sales before, and I've never seen such a mess! If they wanted to create a frenzy, they sure did.
I had not seen any POR dates pop up at all, all day and I've been trying non-stop. You would know, just come take a look at my messy home and ask my kids!

Keep trying! I got a standard POR room yesterday early evening for Nov 17-23. I guess its all about pushing the button at the right time....

Hi all, I've been reading this thread the last couple of days and I'd like to say thank you so much for all the info posted here, really
Aaaand, I got FD!! Calling from Spain was very confusing because for the first 6 hours the only thing I got was a busy signal but in the end I found a very nice CM and switched from AOA to POP (10/19 - 10/26).
Had to pay for a preferred room and increased price tickets but it was still really worth it.
I'm sure we will enjoy POP so much,

Feeling a little psychotic - yesterday I booked pop for FD at 4:00 am (on top of my existing reservation for the same time) then on impulse I booked cbr for the same time frame at 8:00 am online. I was on hold for an hour yesterday afternoon - wanted to go ahead and cancel what I didn't want - kept the cbr resort reservation. We've only done quick service so I was excited about moving up to the regular dining... until I started to make reservations. I had no trouble getting reservations for what I wanted, but half-way through I started having buyer's remorse --- I hate the idea of having to be locked into being somewhere at a specific time everyday. Plus - last time we had free dining I left disney five pounds heavier. I'm going to call it pleasure island syndrome - we ate more desserts that week than we would eat in an entire year. I think they had two snacks per day then - am I remembering wrong?

I'm all better now though... i just booked the Biergarten - I don't care if the food is good or not, I love polka music!!

I just want to say that they DEFINITELY have released more rooms for FD....whether it's due to holds being unheld or what, I don't know. I worked ALL DAY yesterday trying to find an alternative to AoA for a client for a week in and NOTHING was coming up in the Mods, NOTHING. Nothing in POP either. Both online and when I called to confirm. Now I login this morning, and all are available!!

Another Aussie here hoping that the AUD$ recovers before our December trip. We will be at WL 8th to 15th so no FD for us but our TA got us a great RO discount.

Hey must be the Aussie season, I went online yesterday 1.00 am US time and just made another booking. We're doing POFQ with room discount for 3 nights then on the 12th Dec switching over to WL with FD. I now have two bookings but once the phone lines calm down I will cancel our original one.

After rambling on, moaning and complaining and gettign some nasty pm's....my TA came through for me Sorry for being upset and discouraged and for those who sent me the nasty pm's..and you know who you are...I'm not sorry. She got me Nov 10 as room only with discount...183.00 and FD the 11 - 17. A whopping big savings of $1025.00!! Now holding on to hope that disney will let us stay in the same room when we check out on the 11th and check back in....
And we had a chat...I explained my frustration and she knew all about it and said it was fine...that she had hundreds of clients that she was busy with and she apologized for the lack of communications.

Congratulations. I'm glad you were able to get what you wanted.

My MDE updated instantly yesterday, however you do have to look at the old site to see the dining, but have not received an email confirmation yet. I'm going to call if I haven't receive it by noon. I booked at 9am yesterday so that gives them more then 24 hrs to send it. You can also tell if its been applied if you still have a balance owing, it would reflect the amount the CM would've told you on the phone.

I had already emailed her to switch to CBR. When she emailed FD was gone at CBR, but RO was still avail. I asked her to please try and get RO, it was avail at 8pm. She emailed me at 9pm and said she couldn't get it. I am online now and they are avail. Should I book these myself and just cancel my reservation through the TA? I know I will probably lose my dining reservations, I'm guessing probably the PL reservation I have. Will she also return my MNSSHP tickets and I'll have to repurchase? TIA! I booked online and had both within a few minutes. It looks like some people here who booked over the phone did not get confirmations yet. So many posts, it's hard to keep track!

Your dining is not connected to your room reservations. So make the new reservation yourself. If u paid for the tickets then they are yours.

I'm so upset by not getting POR that I couldn't sleep at all. I really hope they open up more rooms or we will be staying off site. I really wanted to stay onsite. If anyone sees any rooms for November 17-26 let me know! We will have 5 plus one under 3. Thanks.

How do you view the old site? My balance owing remained the same, as it is almost paid in full. When I called yesterday morning to add the free dining, the CM double checked to make sure it stuck with our reservation but since its not showing up online it has me super nervous!

My TA just did that for me. I already had a reservation with the dining plan and she just adjusted it to add the free dining
