I have my fingers crossed to everyone still waiting! My FIL called right at 7 and got through to someone right away. He was able to get the RO discount (what we wanted) but we had to upgrade from garden view to lagoon view (we're at YC). The most amazing part? He paid for our full reservation (room, tickets, DDP) as a bday present for our twins! They do sooo much for us already I can't believe they are being so generous. I'm seriously in tears over it :)

Congrats!! That is the most Magical present they could probably ever receive!! So happy that he got the DDP for what you guys wanted!!

Sorry everyone, I have not had any time to read everyone's stories or to update on here today. Between going through an agonizing 5 hour wait and the fact that I was at work and not getting much done during that 5 hours. I had to get things caught up. Anyway my wonderful TA got us the deal for all 3 rooms. We saved a bunch. Hopefully will get on after work and read everyone's stories and elaborate on mine more. Thanks to everyone for listening to all my whining through the months!! Special thanks to black who was right all along!!!

I am so glad you were able to get what you wanted, been thinking about you all day so glad it worked out for you

Your TA needs to hang up and call back. I called this morning and was on hold for 2 hours and just called back at 6 and got through right away. That's crazy!

She said the system has crashed on her a couple times so I think she's had to call back a few times.

So for good reasons and bad I haven't really been on the thread since last night around 9p.

Anything new?

Yes, you can, but you need to do it a least 72 hours before check in. :goodvibes

so glad your on here smitch, get this. So my mother was on hold for two hours before finally getting a cm. Was able to get the fd without a problem. I knew we would have to pay the ticket increase with the fd add on. The cm tells her the balance would go up about 73.00$ but stated its not due to the ticket increase but the tax on the fd. My mother was confused about this so she said she thought it would go up because of the tickets but she insisted that you get the dining plan for free but are responsible for the taxes.

All this worry about conventions, but surely the attendees don't spend much time in the parks?

I think the Gartner convention is like the 2nd week in October this year.. Last year it was like the 3rd week of October and booking rooms was a nightmare as everything was showing full, but even with the convention it wasn't any busier than times I've been in October in the past, but luckily I think the week of the 18+ should be free of the Gartner convention, I just looked at the dates and it's officially October 6th-10th.

Nope....that one is the 6-10 of October....but there's a big pharma the week after and then another the week after that!

Finally got through. Tried for over an hour last night (Australia time), gave up and went to bed. Got up and tried this morning while getting read for the school run. On hold for 20 mins. Already had a booking just had to add on FD. POP booked Dec 12 - 19 with upgrade to regular Dining. Woo Hoo. Thank you so much Black and everyone else who has posted info over the last 2 weeks. My DH is now a little more comfortable with this trip. Hope the Aussie dollar rallies again soon. Have a great evening folks, although daytime here.

If the TA has been trying all day, I would give her another shot to get the reservation. Then you could cancel the new one. If she can't get it, however, then you can cancel the original. Hate to see a TA lose business she's been working on, especially since it's the Disney system that's messed so much up today.

That's a great point. If my TA ever gets back to me, I will keep her reservation and cancel the one I made myself today.

Yes, me too. It shows the change of hotel and the tickets, but no free dining. I haven't gotten a confirmation e-mail, either - if I don't by tomorrow morning, I suppose I will jump back into the phone queue.

Yea mine is doing the same...it has my new dates and price, but nothing about free dining any where around it that I can tell....Kinda freaking out a lil bit

Ok, I'd asked this this morning. I was told the same thing, taxes on free dining. Didn't know you had to pay taxes on FD? Mine definitely wasn't from tickets as I booked June 14th. Still confused about this....but I guess it's right??

Oh, and congrats!!! ;) I had wondered how your Mom did in the craziness

Someone else posted that same scenario this morning. When I used my PIN, my CM told me my increase was "taxes", but he booked me in a pool view instead of standard. When I called and had it fixed, it went back to exactly what I was paying before. I got my FD a few days before the increase, and I definitely didn't pay taxes on my dining. Unless booking with a PIN is different than booking with a regular offer, but I doubt it. Weird. :confused3

ETA: Wait! Dining plan prices were raised recently and took effect immediately. I bet that is it!

ETA2: Wait again! Maybe I guessed that same thing earlier this morning and it didn't just now come to me. :rotfl: Oh dear...I need some sleep!

Ok, so that makes sense. I was already expecting to pay an increase of 70-75 dollars so it wasn't a surprise. Why did they not offer a ro at POR this time? And even more wierd, why did they give pofq 20% off.

Well, no pixie dust YET for me. :sad2:

My TA tried her heart out but within my very rigid plan and backup plan there was no availability for either FD or RO discount TODAY.

But I'm not giving up hope yet! I've still got 30ish days until my final payment is due and she said (and I choose to really believe) that she really feels like a discount for one of my two plans will come open after all the dust settles from today's cluster-fuuuudddge (oh yes, you know i want to say the real word ::yes::).

She assured me that she would continue to check on a daily basis for me. She sounded more defeated than I felt. I sorta felt sorry for her.

She was definitely not breaking my heart, we have very little wiggle room on our resort and none on our dates, so we booked exactly what we wanted in Feb, but who doesn't love to save a buck or two?

I'm so thrilled to see everyone getting what they wanted!! :cheer2:

I've got my fingers crossed for some pixie dust pixiedust: in the near future for myself and for everyone else like me, and in the mean time, I'll just keep swimming.:fish:

I'm going to have a whiskey drink :drinking1 and pout for a couple of minutes, then finish ordering stuff for our MNSSHP costumes! :yay:

Another Aussie here hoping that the AUD$ recovers before our December trip. We will be at WL 8th to 15th so no FD for us but our TA got us a great RO discount. :yay:

Thanks for the pixie dust! I'll take anything I can get! I am hoping a lot of people had stuff on hold and they will be released in the next couple days.
Our preferred dates are 11/15-11/24 at POR, we need AB. As I've said, I'd stay in a value, but I don't think my autism spectrum son would do well there with all the sensory input there, deluxes are out of our price range...I could get 2 RGR at POR for the same price! I'm considering Cabins but not sure if my husband will go for that.
I will definitely post if I get something!

The cabins are NICE! Lots of space, not run down at all. And I wouldn't consider those cabins as "Camping" at all. My neice and her husband, two kids (one is special needs) absolutely LOVED it there. Easy to get to MK on the boat!! then you can hop on the monorail and go wherever you need.

Good luck!! I've been rooting for you!
