Someone else posted that same scenario this morning. When I used my PIN, my CM told me my increase was "taxes", but he booked me in a pool view instead of standard. When I called and had it fixed, it went back to exactly what I was paying before. I got my FD a few days before the increase, and I definitely didn't pay taxes on my dining. Unless booking with a PIN is different than booking with a regular offer, but I doubt it. Weird.

ETA: Wait! Dining plan prices were raised recently and took effect immediately. I bet that is it!

ETA2: Wait again! Maybe I guessed that same thing earlier this morning and it didn't just now come to me. Oh dear...I need some sleep!

I was told by my CM this morning that my price may go up just a bit due to taxes but when she gave me the total, it was the same before I added the free dining. I wonder if it IS the increase in ticket prices b/c we booked in June after they had already gone up; therefore, the amount didn't change.

Then again, I have already put down $200 in July but that wasn't reflected on my current statement. It just shows the total package price. Who knows??

Just got an update from my TA and she is STILL on hold and has been for 11 hours!!!! I'm just hoping for FD at this point.1:

Think about when you buy a candy bar, use a free coupon, you still owe tax.

I wish I knew! But she was posting on facebook at 7am so I know she's been trying all day. I would have tried myself but I don't think I can make changes, only she can.

Some have reported that they paid the new tickets prices and some say they know for a fact that they didn't. Makes no sense, but at least all of those people got some type of deal today. Hopefully they add more rooms for those who haven't had luck yet.

robyn: I am freaking out a bit...I was on hold for nearly two hours this morning and was able to get free disney dining or so I thought...We changed my original dates to the date, got everything, but on my reservations now its shows nowhere I have free dining nor have I received a conformation email...Should I be concerned?
Lex: This shouldn't be cause for concern. Even though it does not explicitly say "free dining" on your reservation information, you still should have had it applied. As I cannot double check you reservation to verify this, I would suggest just making a call back to the Disney Reservation Center at 407-560-CHAT (2428) and have a magical vacation specialist take a look at your booking.

Thanks Smitch! It was my husbands uncle. He was such a great guy.

I didn't have a chance to get on here but I saw the pages jumped astronomically so I figured FD/RO happened. I read a few posts but there was no way I was reading everything lol

Makes sense but don't know why some did and some didn't get taxed. We booked in June after tickets had already went up so the extra for "taxes" cannot be for that. So I have no idea. I've looked my reservation over and nothing else has changed. Same room, resort etc. just added FD to my reservation. Weird? Oh well

Edit: to add I'm just thrilled to get FD at the resort I wanted so I'll gladly pay it haha!

The cabins are NICE! Lots of space, not run down at all. And I wouldn't consider those cabins as "Camping" at all. My neice and her husband, two kids (one is special needs) absolutely LOVED it there. Easy to get to MK on the boat!! then you can hop on the monorail and go wherever you need.

I would recommend in getting a golf cart if you are staying at the cabins (we LOVE the cabins). Look in the Camping section on the Disboards about the best place to rent golf carts.

On a funny note and a bit off topic. Was watching everyone posting this morning at work when someone posted " POR sold out on fd" so I got worried and was suppose to post" going 11/11-11/17, did anyone get POR for fd" but my autocorrect changed it to " going 11/11-11/17, did anyone get pot for fd" well I hit send and went back to work. At lunch time I'm trying to find my post when someone puts, " I don't think disney is giving out pot with there meal plans" . I'm really having a hard time with this kindle or I really need to preview my posts before I hit send

Are you a TA? My TA and her co workers have all had problems all day long. She said there's only 2 lines for TA's to call and it's either been busy all day or they have been on hold forever.

Ok, so that makes sense. I was already expecting to pay an increase of 70-75 dollars so it wasn't a surprise. Why did they not offer a ro at POR this time? And even more wierd, why did they give pofq 20% off.

Maybe all the historic non availability at FQ and the mass exodus to POR in anticipation of FD.

I mean I don't know how many people posted that they were going to go ahead and book POR because FQ was getting no FD and probably little to no RO.

So everyone goes down river, suddenly POR is packed but FQ sales are slow. Discounts go where the booking are not.

I am going to run the Cabins idea, and cost, by my husband later. The cast member I spoke with said they recently upgraded the pool there too. I like the idea of the boat ride to MK and the monorail. I still love POR and think it would be perfect for my son though.

So I now have two reservations -- one my TA made for me (changed actually) and one I made this morning when I panicked.
My TA one is showing up in MDE but the one I made isn't yet.
Will both show up eventually?
Haven't decided which to cancel yet. Feel like since the TA worked hard today to get it for me and came through, I should stick with her. But I also realize I didn't like being out of control of my own trip! Thoughts???
