Clowning Around on the Boardwalk! A Wigdout Trip report

Oh Anita, I'm so sorry about your friend and her husband! I will definitely be saying a prayer for that family during this time of grieve and loss!!!!

Anita - I'm so sorry for your friend's loss. It must be so difficult.

You better get packing lady!!! I can't wait to hear your thoughts about the cruise. We really enjoyed it and I hope you do too! Of course we went in winter and it was really windy and chilly. I'm sure you'll have much better weather!

What else are you going to tell us about this last trip? Have to finish it before you go, or I'll have to take your place!

Did you hear DVC has launched a grocery delivery service? You can find the order sheets on the member website. Not nearly as good a selection as garden grocer. Hope they aren't going to try to restrict outside deliveries in the future.

This isn't new... DVC grocery delivery has been available since at least 2007, when we first purchased DVC. In fact, at that time, it was one of the selling points on the DVC tour - our guide told us about the service while we were walking through a grand villa at SSR. We've never used it, because of the limited selection... and then I found the DIS and found out about Garden Grocer, so if we ever order groceries, that's where we'd order from.

Thanks for your kind word. This family will be so lost without this husband/father.

I can't even imagine what she is going through, just so frightening....

Tomorrow, I'll do something tomorrow....
I'm sure the weather will be much warmer than it was in the winter for you all!

I think I'll get started now.
I went into the DIS chat room and stayed much longer than I intended. It was a good group tonight!
:goodvibes

I guess I haven't paid any attention to a DVC grocery service.
We have never ordered from anyone besides Garden Grocer.

Boo to losing the update :(.

In answer to your question, next week I have three days of post-planning, so I guess I will be packing up my room and moving down the hall.

I have to pack up my room, but then I have to move the stuff to Texas!!! I'm not sure what I'm going to take and what I"m not taking with me yet!

I'm hoping you go to ATLANTIS! Please, pretty please!
I would love to see some pics!

We are planning a cruise for next spring, looking at possibly May.
Any input you have will be greatly apreciated! :goodvibes

I will feel so spoiled if I get to go in the spring and at Christmas next year!
It will make turning 40 so much better....

WigD, sorry to hear you lost your post! BOO! :headache: I hate that when it happens!

On a more somber note -- so sorry to hear about your friend's loss, these stories are very tragic. She is lucky to have a strong school community of caring people to be there to support her.

I hope you catch up on a little R & R this weekend :flower3: and I look forward to seeing your new update soon.

So sorry for your friends loss! :flower3:

On a much more selfish note, I'm looking forward to your update and hearing how your last week before vacation goes!

When I last left you we were standing near Tiana and Naveen.
This fellow was waiting there too.
I think for the CM.
He seemed to be watching her.

I don't think I mentioned it but this was the day we moved out of our Boardwalk Villa....
I had also made my slide down the slide that morning!
It was chilly.....
We had video.
Shocker lost it.
If it's found we will post. I promise!
But.....
Why did the clown spit out the teacher?

Because she was a sour puss!

So anyhoo,
We made our way over to POP to check in and we where we would be spending our last Disney night.
This is our room number!

There was basketball on the television and Marc was watching so I set off to explore MeMom and Jill's home away from home.

A pool waiting for two very special little girls....

Then I came upon something quite interesting.
Some sort of production.
There were actors.
Directors.
Cameras.
Assistants.
All at the Hippy Dippy Pool.
So I took pictures.

Next we made our way to Epcot.

It was time for a concert. I wasn't walking fast enough for Shocker so he left me in his dust.
That was OK.
I knew the way.
He found us really great seats.

DSCN1083.jpg

The guest artist was David Cassidy.
He used to be so cute. Not so bad now.
The concert was great!
Although Paul Revere and the Raiders was more fun....

DSCN3912.jpg

After the concert we were meeting Julia for dinner.
Bistro de Paris we the place we were dining, a first for everyone....

After checking in we had a short wait before going upstairs.

DSCN3914.jpg

We had a simply charming french waiter that talked me into trying this orange soda.
One time downstairs in Chefs I had the Lemonaid and ewww, but I tried this and loved it!

We ordered the 3 course meals...

DSCN3915.jpg

Next came out our bread and a quiche, this was really good with crab in the bottom...

DSCN3916.jpg

Marc and Julia had shrimp and crab cakes with a taste of lobster bisque, one pic, but theirs were the same...

DSCN3918.jpg

I had the escargot.

DSCN3919.jpg

This is my grilled beef tenderloin, beef parmentier, asparagagus, pepercorn sauce.

DSCN3920.jpg

Julia and Marc had the Pork tenderloin stuffed with mushrooms, pasta gratin with truffles, forestiere sauce.

DSCN3921.jpg

Then finally dessert!

I don't know what they had.....
DSCN3922.jpg

This is mine....
Creme Brule' this and Creme Brule that....

DSCN3923.jpg

Let's just say,
Heaven!

Illuminations started going off and we had a perfect view from the upstairs window.
I loved this place and can't wait to take Megan back someday.
She who loves everything french!

cont in next post....

We couldn't end a night at Epcot without one last ride on the cotton ball. So here we are in the future!

Butterflies as we left the park...

DSCN1117.jpg

So back to POP we went for our last night of Disney dreams....

The next morning we were waking up to a DIS meet with Dawn, Dan, and the kids....
They were at POP too!
I spent a little time waiting out by the pool....

Facebooking and watching the weather.
We had some bad weather in Kansas and had a 5 hour drive once we got back to our neck of the woods...

Our friends arrived and we got a picture of Dawn and I...

DSCN1123.jpg

Then it was over for some breakfast.

My very first Mickey waffles. YUM!

DSCN1125.jpg

DSCN1124.jpg

All too soon our un magical express arrived and whisked us back to the airport.
The flight to Branson was uneventful.
If you have been following you know that's were uneventful ended.
We got snowed in, in Joplin MO.
Made it home the next day.
I broke my arm chasing the dog.
Now we go back to Disney a week from today!
Thanks for following us my dear DIS friends!
You are very dear to me!

Side note.

We worked in the yard yesterday.
I took Baylor's African spurred tortoise out to enjoy the weather and graze in the yard.
I lost him.
I'm in deep doodoo.
He's too big to have escaped. I'm sure he's just under a bush or something.

I have to pack up my room, but then I have to move the stuff to Texas!!! I'm not sure what I'm going to take and what I"m not taking with me yet!

What part of Texas? When we moved from NYC to TX, I had a moving "sale" in my classroom on the last day or two of school. I laid out all the stuff I didn't want to move, then told the staff to come by during a certain time frame. Anything they wanted, they could have. I got rid of quite a bit of stuff I had no use for that way. Everything that was left over, I just left behind for the teacher who replaced me.

Bistro de Paris looks amazing! All the food looks really yummy, I'm going to allears to check out the menu. :rolleyes1

I wonder what they were filming at the Pop Pool! That is so cool.

The butterflies in Epcot are so pretty.

Great update! But... I'm confused... either I missed an update somewhere (and I just went back through the last 10 pages or so), or you skipped a day! You seem to have jumped from Wednesday night (when we all sat around talking at BC), to Friday morning and moving over to Pop. I wanted to hear about your Thursday! (And not just because we saw you that day!)

Oh crud, I forgot that day.....:lmao:

OK, we went to DHS.....
Had an amazing lunch at Brown Derby then met up with Michelle and John.
I do know that we shared the Cobb Salad....

Here we are in the photo pass pic!

Image0311.jpg

We spent some time with them.
then
They headed back to Beach Club and we went to Magic Kingdom.

How do you like my Japanese Socks?
They kept my toes warm.....

Image0313.jpg

I honestly don't have anything else from that day. So we are going to call it the lost day.

I am however going to post some photo pass pictures from the trip, most are from St. Patrick's Day....

That's it.....
unless we find the video of the clown slide.

:lmao: You sure do find the most interesting characters! I'm going to have to slow down and do a bit more people watching.

Wonder what was going on at the Hippy Dippy Pool???

Bistro looked yummy, may have to give it a try sometime :thumbsup2

Thanks for sharing your trip Miss Anita Wigd! They are always so much fun - can't wait to hear about the next one!

(Hope you find that turtle.......)
