Official AUGUST 2008 CODES to be posted here please!!:)

Are you totally against getting two rooms at a different resort? Most of them have connecting doors. It would probably be a huge savings over a 2bdrm villa. Do any of you have APs or would you consider converting just one of your tickets to possibly qualify for AP rates? There must be some way to save some money -- sometimes it just takes the right circumstances!

Edited to add: I just checked the AP rates and they have a studio and 1 bdrm available for your dates @ OKW...which is essentially the same thing as a 2bdrm -- so I don't know why it doesn't offer that option.

I called and they aren't offering the AA rate even without park tickets.

We would not want 2 separate rooms even though we could save quite a bit. We like to be able to sit together in the living room during the day when we come back for a break and use the balcony and also having a washer and dryer is the biggest plus. We only pack 2-3 outfits and I wash daily. makes a world of difference.

I saw in the last few posts, 3 different codes:
DDK
DDH
DDN

Could someone please explain what each of these above codes are. (I think one may be room only and one code for packages????)
I currently have reservations with AAA, my TA is on vacation for one week, but i'm trying to have a mgr handle it. She was going to call Disney and see if they were applicable for me. I'm traveling between 8/16 and 8/23, I have 2 days room only and 5 days of pkg. with DDP, and my final pymt is due 7/2. Does anyone know if these codes are available up to a certain date? Is there a possibility that they might say (in a week from now) that the codes are no longer available?
I am staying at POP (value resort)

If you reserved the studio/1bdrm combination you would have a 2bdrm except there would be a locking door between the units which of course could be opened in your case. So if you call back to check again, be sure and ask for availability on those rooms as well. I'm not sure what the price difference is by booking it as two rooms vs. one -- but either the AP rate or general public code might save a few dollars over what you're currently paying.

We are staying at Pop Aug 16-23. This morning I called and asked about the DDH code, it is room only discount. He checked and was able to apply DDK code, package with DDP(standard Dining Plan). I think DDN is package with the DDDP (Deluxe Dining Plan). I was able to save $130.

I would try to get the Manager to call as soon as possible.

Another $70 for the stay or each night?
My TA called and said nothing available for the Poly or GF on our dates. I have the Poly booked Aug. 10th -17th. I got the 20% off pin too but I can't get this new code. I guess I should be happy. This is the first time I'm not paying rack rate.

70 for the stay.

OK, so for peace of mind I called and checked the new codes against my current room only ressie with the pin I got in the mail. My pin is still a better deal - and then I checked a package with tickets (hoppers) and staying with my room only and getting my tickets seperately is still cheaper. I just feel better having checked!

I just used the discount to upgrade my AKL savannah view to Club Level. :goodvibes

It cost me $14 more per day than my AAA rate, but I figure the "free" breakfast, and afternoon/evening snacks will pay for itself for my family of 4. It's an investment!

Please help me with my Fuzzy Disney math!!!! I currently am booked with AAA and tried my hand at a newreservation with the public codes. My TA assured me that the AAA code was better and there was no availability at Beach Club- (which is where I was hoping to switch to). Lo and behold, I got an AWESOME CM who tried many codes that I told him plus one I hadn't heard of before (BCT) and he got me a rate of $3,400 for 1 adult / 2 kids package with basic dining. The rack rate for that same deal is $4800- from the website. Here's my dilemma-the new reservation is about $$800 more than our current one- but it's at the BEACH CLUB! plus, if I take it I and lose the $200 deposit from AAA- so it's really a $1000 switch. I have a hold on it and I hate making decisions!!!:faint: What would my fellow Dissers do? :bitelip:

Have your TA look to see if they can switch the room you put on hold onto your existing reservation. The availability is changing all the time

Bummer!!! Codes dont work for the Contemporary Magic Kingdom View either:(
Just paid my whole package $6,381 dollars later, Ouch!

Couldn't use it on my Pop res either. But I could upgrade to a mod for an additional $200. At first I was going to go ahead and do it, but I am going to stay with Pop :thumbsup2

Was this reservation booked yourself or through a TA? I have reservations at AKL CL and am wondering if I will get a discount too? I booked through a TA and have an email into her, but I have a feeling she will tell me that I cannot apply the code to my current reservation...just curious how it worked for you?

I had booked it myself, so I just called Disney directly and asked them if there was availability to change my AAA reservation to the DDI code. It was really very easy (I already had a room only reservation - I'm not sure how it would work for those with a package).

Good luck to you, though!

OK, I have an AKL Club Level room booked with guaranteed Savanah view and I just called and they told me that the DDH code only applies to values and the other two codes DDN & DDK only applies to someone who has the dining plan. What is with the inconsistencies?!?:confused3 That boils my blood that some people are getting the discount and some arent!

And I used DDI (which I got off the Disney web site). Interestingly enough, the CM I had told me I was only the second person to use this code (and I didn't call until 5:30 pm EDT). The web site definitely says that it applies to all levels of resorts (I don't believe it applies to suites, though).

thanks...I just got an e-mail from my TA which said they checked...but no availability...of course!

BUMMER!!! :badpc:

Our AAA rate at POP is already less than the $69 new code rate.
For us it's not a discount at all, it's an increase!!!
I'm not even going to bother to call.

Oh well, we still have a pretty good rate overall--something like $75 after taxes. Can't complain too much. It's just I was hoping that it would come down even just a little bit. Something to make all this watching worth something!
