Good morning all! Sorry I did not post the Yachtsman review last night, DH and I went to the bar after dinner and well....lets just say that when I sat down on the bed I did not get up until 20 minutes ago!
We are getting ready for breakfast and then we have to go home....
I dont wanna go!
Here is the meat cutter in his little cooler, he was so nice!
This is the different kinds of steaks
Our waiter was Joey and he was fantastic and explained that any sauce can be substituted for any other sauce or bernaise even though it is not on the menu. Same thing with the potatoes and the veggies, you can sub anything you want.
Here are our cocktails, a Sunken Treasure and a Tommy Bahama Mama, they were heavy on the booze and awesome!
The bread basked was onion pull apart rolls and 2 yeast rolls. The onion rolls were incredible and with the butter with the sea salt and the roasted onion I thought I was going to die right on the spot! Mash the garlic with the butter and make a paste and smear it on...wow it is incredible. We had to ask Joey to remove the rest of the bread because I would have eaten the entire thing. I have a bread addiction that there is no cure for.
DH ordered the caesar salad, it was so good but he did not like cutting it himself.
I went for the lobster bisque, I have never ever had it before but I thought why not? Joey said that if I did not like it he would bring me something else. The bisque was super rich and cream and there was a ton of lobster in it as well. It was very brandy induced so I was getting drunk off my soup! Even DH liked it.
I ordered the filet minus the wine sauce and add the bernaise sauce and mashed potatoes. I asked for it to be medium but it came out medium rare but I ate it and it was still awesome...DH would not even look at it, way too rare for him.
We also ordered a side of mushrooms to share, again very rich and loaded with a wine flavor, awesome!
DH ordered the rib eye and had regular mashed potatoes instead of the horseradish ones. He was so disappointed. It was super tough and very fatty, the butter wine sauce made it super greasy and it was placed on a bed of potatoes so every time he cut the potatoes squeezed out everywhere. And it was rare, not medium well like he asked for....that freaked him out. Joey came by and offered to bring a brand new one out for DH or sub something else. DH ordered the filet instead and it was cooked perfectly for him. He was very happy after that...here is a pic of the rib eye, I forgot to take one of the new filet.
For dessert we each had tea, vanilla roobios for DH and earl gray for me.
We shared a warm chocolate cake with mint chocolate chip gelato. It was so sinful and wonderful and yummy! When you cut into the cake it oozed chocolate goodness. The gelato was so creamy and smooth, awesome choice!
Total cost with the DDE was $125.98. We are coming back in Oct for my b-day!
Here are pics of the dessert menu and table.
Now we are off to our last meal onsite, breakfast at the Captains Grille.
By you guys! Hope to post the last supper so to speak before we check out.
