Live from WDW for 9 days, the Nicki and Todd dining review with a ton of PICS!!!!

I'm really enjoying your reviews! DGF and I are "dieting" (I use this term loosely) for bathingsuit season and your pictures just about did us in! Enjoy the rest of your trip!

I just got caught up on your reviews for this trip, you've done such a great job and I hope you have a very nice dinner at Yachtsman to top off your trip tonight! :goodvibes Sorry the weather has been so crummy!

Wow! The Tangerine Cafe food looks soooooo good, I've had their vegetarian plate before but if they have a falafel wrap, I AM SO THERE (or will be) !!!! I didn't see it on the DIS boards menu or AllEars, so I think I need to make a note to look for it, DH can have those meatballs and we'll be all set. Gotta show him those pix, if I can get him away from looking at the Boma breakfast spread.... :rotfl:

Thanks again for all your work!

You ate at a lot of breakfast buffets... and they look soooooooo good. Which one do you like the best?

Fantastic job MickeyNicki. I have so enjoyed your report and am bummed to hear it'spixiedust: coming to a close!! Hope you had a Magical trip!!! It looks like it from here!

Thank you so much for you reviews and your pictures :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 We are staying at AKL for the first time this September and now can't wait for our Boma breakfast. Last year was our BCV trip and Yachtsman Steakhouse dinner which was, hands down, our best meal at WDW yet. (Wrote a review but have no idea how to find it  ) Have an awesome dinner!

Nicki, this is a wonderful report. I love the tarte Alsace at Chef de France. They have a fair substitute at Trader Joe's in their frozen food section.

I have a question about the meatballs at Tangerine, are they sweet? or savory?

.

Wow!! What a great report with fantastic pictures! :thumbsup2 I just found this tonight and read the entire report. We also love the breakfast buffet at Boma - comes very close to the wonderful dinner buffet there. I think I have to book the GF tea and Tutto Italia now after reading your reviews :) Thanks!

Thanks so much for the reviews! You're great for doing this. One question about Tutto though. Everyone keeps saying something about it closing this fall...didn't it just open???

It did open not that long ago, but the intent from the beginning was that this would be a temporary fix.

Wow you are killin me... Adr's already made for our Sept trip and now this wonderful review! I think Ohana is calling our name... but where to fit it in!
The reviews of it lately have not been very positive but your pics were fantastic and you were positive.

Biergarten. Now this is a place I dream of all year round. I would probably eat there 2x per trip if it were up to me - not joking. Who ever heard of pork schnitzel? That on its own would keep me coming back.

ANd I guess Cafe Tangerine is on the CS list now!

I just realized we do NOT have one TS breakfast planned! OH no..

THANK YOU THANK YOU
Awesome job:cool1:

Good morning all! Sorry I did not post the Yachtsman review last night, DH and I went to the bar after dinner and well....lets just say that when I sat down on the bed I did not get up until 20 minutes ago! :lmao: :lmao:

We are getting ready for breakfast and then we have to go home.... I dont wanna go!

Here is the meat cutter in his little cooler, he was so nice!

This is the different kinds of steaks

Our waiter was Joey and he was fantastic and explained that any sauce can be substituted for any other sauce or bernaise even though it is not on the menu. Same thing with the potatoes and the veggies, you can sub anything you want.

Here are our cocktails, a Sunken Treasure and a Tommy Bahama Mama, they were heavy on the booze and awesome!

The bread basked was onion pull apart rolls and 2 yeast rolls. The onion rolls were incredible and with the butter with the sea salt and the roasted onion I thought I was going to die right on the spot! Mash the garlic with the butter and make a paste and smear it on...wow it is incredible. We had to ask Joey to remove the rest of the bread because I would have eaten the entire thing. I have a bread addiction that there is no cure for.

DH ordered the caesar salad, it was so good but he did not like cutting it himself.

Disney006-7.jpg

I went for the lobster bisque, I have never ever had it before but I thought why not? Joey said that if I did not like it he would bring me something else. The bisque was super rich and cream and there was a ton of lobster in it as well. It was very brandy induced so I was getting drunk off my soup! Even DH liked it.

Disney007-7.jpg

I ordered the filet minus the wine sauce and add the bernaise sauce and mashed potatoes. I asked for it to be medium but it came out medium rare but I ate it and it was still awesome...DH would not even look at it, way too rare for him.

Disney010-8.jpg

We also ordered a side of mushrooms to share, again very rich and loaded with a wine flavor, awesome!

Disney008-7.jpg

DH ordered the rib eye and had regular mashed potatoes instead of the horseradish ones. He was so disappointed. It was super tough and very fatty, the butter wine sauce made it super greasy and it was placed on a bed of potatoes so every time he cut the potatoes squeezed out everywhere. And it was rare, not medium well like he asked for....that freaked him out. Joey came by and offered to bring a brand new one out for DH or sub something else. DH ordered the filet instead and it was cooked perfectly for him. He was very happy after that...here is a pic of the rib eye, I forgot to take one of the new filet.

For dessert we each had tea, vanilla roobios for DH and earl gray for me.

We shared a warm chocolate cake with mint chocolate chip gelato. It was so sinful and wonderful and yummy! When you cut into the cake it oozed chocolate goodness. The gelato was so creamy and smooth, awesome choice!

Total cost with the DDE was $125.98. We are coming back in Oct for my b-day!

Here are pics of the dessert menu and table.

Now we are off to our last meal onsite, breakfast at the Captains Grille.

By you guys! Hope to post the last supper so to speak before we check out.

Noooooooooooo don't go!!!!!!!!! lol

I've loved your reviews and am so sad that it's time for you guys to go home.

We loved our meal at Yachtsman last year. I too ordered the caesar salad and didn't know it required "assembly". lol

Have a great rest of your time at the World!

Yum! Great photos!! :thumbsup2

We hope to go to Yachtsman Steakhouse next January when we go... But I have to ask, can you see the meat-cutting man while you're eating dinner?

I like eating filet steak, if it's really, really well done. If there's any pink, or if it's chewy at all, I can't eat anymore. So really, I just like eating meat if it doesn't look or taste like meat. Hehee. If I had to sit and watch that dude cut into the raw meat, there's no way I could eat there.

Please tell me you don't have to look at him! I really want to go there and have those yummy desserts!!! :lmao:

(And do you have to see the display of the raw meat, as well? I don't think I even want to see that! Eeeek!)

Anyway, did you get your No Way Jose!? Hope so!

Well I have to tell you we are leaving WDW on a sour note, breakfast at the Captains Grille was a huge let down. The buffet has the identical foods that the Cape May breakfast buffet has but it is not kept up so everything is dried out and yucky. No way could I take pictures of that and leave my report that way. It was so disappointing but maybe if we went earlier the food would have been fresher?? There was one pathetic dried out apple blintz in the pan, 3 hard as a rock bread pudding squares in a pan, bacon just laying in a pool of grease, eggs that were so dried out they turned an orange color....it was a sad shame. I complained to the waiter but he said they are doing the best they can. I had a croissant and fruit and oatmeal and that was all good. DH ate the rest of the buffet and said it was eh not the greatest and nothing like we have had at all this week. The OJ was great and the coffee wasnt that bad.

I wish we kept our ressie at Cape May, at least the food is fresher and replenished more often.

So I want to thank all of you for reading my report, I had as much fun doing it as you had reading it. If you have any questions I will be happy to answer them for you. We are going to be back for a few wekends over the summer and another 9 day live review for you in October. Until then....see ya real soon!

Nicki

Thanks so much for the fantastic reviews!! They have been so helpful to read...and caused me to eat and eat and eat while reading them because they were making me so hungry. :rotfl: You do such a great job! Looking forward to the review in October!!
