What’s for Dinner Tonight?

We had dinner at Topolino’s last night. I had gnocchi with lamb appetizer and a beet heirloom salad. DH had the filet.

Snow mixed with rain and high winds. Okay, I’m in for the day, lol.
Pulled the pressure cooker out and in the process of cooking one of the easiest dinners I’ve ever made : honey- soy sauce braised pork. Basically you just pour the majority of the ingredient list in the pot and let it rip. I suspect from the smells, I’m going to have brunch instead of dinner.

Took the last of the smashed cuke salad and roasted bok choy out and will top it on another scallion pancake, and the pork when finished for an Asian taco

WF finally had lemon sorbet in stock (but no eggs) so maybe that will be dessert; we’ll see.

This weather has been crazy. We got 3-4 inches of snow overnight. Then 1/4-1/2 inch of ice early this morning and now it’s pouring rain. It was like shoveling cement, I had to crack through this thick layer of ice to free the cars, and I was soaked from the rain. Hoping everyone’s basement stays dry. Heavy rain on snow and frozen ground is never good.

I’m reheating the potato soup from last night. I did cook up some fresh bacon to go in top and I’m going to grate some cheddar. Making tacos for dinner tonight.

It's snowing like crazy right now; we are supposed to get about 8" and then ice/sleet. I'm glad tomorrow is a holiday so DH doesn't have to shovel at the crack of dawn.

DD is making wine-braised short ribs for dinner tonight. DD purees carrots, celery, and onions into the braise for the meat, along with at least half of a bottle of red wine. She is a master at this, and we'll have mashed potatoes (homemade... no box potatoes on the weekend!) and french bread to go with. I can't wait!

Panda Express leftovers from last night. We went out and had a big Sunday lunch with friends, so the rest of the day has just been relaxing and low key haha.

Friday we had Tapas. Tomato & Goat cheese, Blackened Salmon Skewer, Jamon Prosciutto

We were busy touring & didn't have our first meal on Saturday until 4:30. We had The Rhein Trio (2 types Bratwurst & Weisswurst w/sauerkraut & mustard) appetizer & Pasta Sudtirol - entree. The plan was to have a heavier meal & not eat again. Unfortunately, it wasn't very good & I wasn't feeling well, so we left a lot of it. That led to us sharing a bacon cheeseburger at the hotel later that night.

It's been snowing all day. We're glad we had chosen a a Drury Hotel for the next couple nights, so we didn't have to go back out for dinner. DH had chicken, baked potato & chili. I had penne alfredo, chicken, mixed veggies & a small bowl of chili. I wouldn't say their food is really good, but you can't complain for free. Not having to go back out in the snow made it even better.

Last night I fixed king crab legs that I got from Sam’s and smashed potatoes. The crab legs were better than expected. They were precut and very meaty.

Today is my oldest’s 18th birthday. We plan to go to a steak restaurant for dinner. We got several inches of snow this morning, so hopefully roads will be cleared for us to get there.

Not sure about tonight. We are celebrating DGS's birthday today and they are ordering from Red Robin, so it could be nothing for dinner or something small.

We're exhausted from shoveling all the snow for days now. So tonight is Crispy chicken strips and mac n cheese.

Bitter cold is back after a snowy weekend. Cauliflower leek soup should warm us up nicely tonight.

Made it to ds's birthday dinner last night with no problems. We are supposed to get several more inches of snow tomorrow night and into Wednesday. I am over winter.

Tonight is taco potatoes.

will be leftovers here! it's the start of the next snowmageddon here in Kansas so we have some panda express in the fridge, and some leftover pizza that we will munch on tonight while waiting on the inevetable call that school is cancelled for tomorrow; if not for snow then for the fact that the wind chill will be -25

Tonight will be edamame noodles with meat sauce and green salad. Ice cream for dessert.

Sorry for all you dealing with cold and snow.
Here it is the opposite, by the end of the week we'll be in mid-high 80's.....not ready for that. We want a little more winter here

Leftover jalapeno cheese sliders from lunch, and either tortilla chips & salsa, or something far less healthy from the air fryer. LOL!

Pulled the rest of the strip steak out of the fridge to cook tonight. Making a poivre sauce to go with it and a simple green salad. Took a portion of butternut squash and ginger soup out to start with a cup of it and that should be enough tonight.
