Hello everyone,

Our upcoming Disney trip is getting close (Feb 2025). We were able to snag a reservation at Artist Point since my wife as begging me forever to eat there.
I have a few questions:

1. Our reservation will be on a Sunday night, 650pm. At that day, we will be at MK. What time do we need to leave MK to be there on time for our reservation? What is the safest route? the MK boat?

2. How long does the dinner take? 90 min? Probably we won't be able to make it back on time for fireworks, which is fine, since we will be going again to MK on Wednesday for EEH

3. On the menu, it says "fish of the day" for both kid's and adult's entree. Is it usually Salmon? The only fish my kids eat is Salmon. If it is not Salmon, do they usually have that as an alternative for picky eaters?

4. We usually don't eat desserts after dinner because we are usually full from appetizers and entrees. Is it ok to take whatever is left of dessert home to eat later at the hotel? Or is that frowned upon? I am not talking about asking EXTRA and then take home, but just taking whatever dessert is left at the table home.

5. We are going to be at Boardwalk Villa. What would be the most effective way to get back to hotel from WL? A bus to Epcot or HS?

Thanks!!

I think it took us between an hour and 90 minutes, I don't remember. They were really good about making sure the characters came through, and they'll tell when it's your time to meet the evil queen.

I'm sure the fish of the day changes seasonally, there must have been a reason I didn't order it when we ate there as I usually eat fish but maybe I was just in the mood for prime rib? I can't even remember what my kids ate. I think one got the prime rib and one might have just eaten the mac and cheese side dish.

My husband was less than thrilled with the food there (he doesn't like fish and can't eat a ton of red meat) so he ended up getting something at roaring forks afterwards.

You probably could take the desserts back with you but I don't remember them being huge.

If would take the bus to DHS and boat or walk, Epcot only makes sense if you have park hoppers.

I will just note that we have eaten here twice and enjoyed it both times. The second time I made comment to our server about how good a few of the appetizers were and she said “oh let me get you more”. Apparently if you ask they will bring additional appetizers.
Both times we were there the fish was a white fish, don’t remember what but it wasn’t salmon.
I had the pork shank the second time and saw a plate of prime rib go by with these huge pop overs and I mentioned to our server again that those looked amazing. In a few minutes she was back with one for each of us.
The desserts are served as small plates and pieces of chocolate served from a box for show. I’m optimistic that if you asked to take the dessert home they would help but like someone else said they aren’t huge but they seem to have been very accommodating both times we ate there

There’s also a bus from MK to WL, so you can take bus or boat. I like the boat, and I’d be at the dock at least an hour before my ADR, just in case of delays getting on the boat. If you arrive at WL early, you can walk around the beautiful lobby or enjoy a beverage at the Territory Lounge.

I’d bus to DHS and then walk, boat, or Skyliner back to BWV, assuming that DHS is still open when you finish your meal. If it’s closed, Disney transportation won’t take you there from WL. A bus to Epcot would take you to the front of Epcot, and then you’d have to have valid park admission and walk all the way through it and out the IG to get to BWV. Also, there’s the same concern about Epcot’s closing time.

Transportation runs from MK for an hour or so after it closes, so a return to MK and bus to BWV from there is probably your best route home. If you finish eating too late for that, then you’re looking at bus from WL to DS and a transfer at DS to the BW bus. Or rideshare/taxi.

I think the boat back to MK and then a bus to BWV would be the fastest route, unless you ordered a Minnie Van.
You could also take a bus to HS and then hop on the Skyliner and take that to the Epcot stop next to the Boardwalk.

ok so I just checked the hours for Sunday February 9th.
That day HS closes at 9pm. However, they also have after hours event at HS from 9pm to 1AM.
I assume we are good then, in terms of getting a bus from WL to HS ?

I would think so.

I agree, you’ll be fine with getting bus from WL to DHS. You might be limited to bus or walking from DHS to BWV, though, because the boat and Skyliner might close at their normal times.

Edited to clarify bus from/to.

that is fine, we don't mind walking, we usually walk to/from Epcot and HS

I was there on Sunday, the fish was salmon but I imagine rotates. We were offered a box at the end (declined) so no issue taking leftovers. We were the first seating at 4:00 and finished up with our photo with the Evil Queen just before 5:30, so 90 minutes is spot on.

1. I would take boat to WL if you're near MK. It's a lovely ride. We used a Minnie Van as we were coming from the Poly and didn't want to take the extra transportation time.

2. Our meal took us closer to two hours because we waited extra long for Grumpy. I think they may have had character issues this evening - we were close to the character entrance and it didn't make sense why else it would've taken so long. I did get a little punchy about the extra wait as we have two young kids, but our older daughter insisted we wait for Grumpy.

3. Our older daughter had the salmon with her kid's meal. It may vary, but I would think it would be salmon most of the time. Honestly, she loved her fun appetizer more than the main dish anyway (but both looked great).

4. I would think you'd be fine doing that.

5. Honestly, I'd take a Minnie Van (or another ride share if you have a smaller group or don't need car seats). If transferring at MK is an option that would probably be faster (take the boat to MK and then the bus to Boardwalk) - transportation would still be available one hour after park closing. Otherwise, a bus to HS and then walking/bussing to Boardwalk would be your next best choice.

Enjoy your meal at Artist Point! We loved our food (my husband and I got the pork shank and our kids got the salmon with mac and cheese) and character interactions. I think our long wait for Grumpy soured my experience a bit, but it still was a great character meal.

We had a really good meal and a really good time at Artist's Point earlier in January 2025. They will definitely box up the desserts for you--our group could not eat them after the meal, and we had them the next day. I think the timing of 90 minutes is about right for the full experience. We all had the prime rib, which I thought was excellent. The characters were fun. I have never come up with anything witty to say to the Queen, though. She is impressive. It was our pleasure to meet her, as she reminded us!
