PVB Tower Charts, Sales Date and more!!!

@maui22 - you got the official rules above, and while I'm not condoning breaking Disney policy, I usually see a few balconies decorated around the holidays around property. Similar to PP, often at BLT, occasionally at VGF.

I especially enjoy this highly dedicated PVB guest who puts up this display on their third floor Moorea lagoon facing room every year. They rearrange the last digit at the turn of the calendar. I've been doing Poly for NYE for awhile now and they are always there, always on the third floor!

Was going to comment on this repeat guest too. Been there the last few years that we've been there for NYE!

It's been our annual tradition to wonder how they get away with this. We appreciate the creativity and dedication, but also prefer the Poly didn't have any balcony decorations.

I just saw a picture on social media showing the tattoo style artwork has started on part of the front (top right when viewing from the monorail) of the building.

Hopefully this is a sign it they plan to do this on all the large plain colored areas around the building.

Any other new Poly members call in this morning to book the Tower?! Booked 5 night in February. We wanted a standard studio but all they had left were theme park view studios so of course we had to book. Already in the borrowing hole but worth it for our first Dvc trip!

Did you try asking them to pull a room from developer inventory - they confirmed that they would do that for first booking using new points in my case. Either way you will enjoy the TPV!

No I didn’t ask but she did know I was a new member. Maybe because our trip is less than 3 months away it is already booked by members who added on? Not sure but I already told my family we have a theme park view so no going back now!

We just returned from a trip where stayed at GFV for that last 6 nights. Seeing this building often, I am really glad they have added these "tattoos". These artistic choices are helping to blend old and new Poly. I really love it. It's come a long way!

Are there any predictions on when we think they might declare more units? Or is it way too soon to tell at this point?
I think it's going to be awhile. Here's some information from what I have seen from the county web site (partial data for 11/7).
The declaration was somewhere in the 400,000-600,000 point range and we're only seeing nearly 100K as of today.

I will say, Disney declared a lot of Riviera points far before county sales showed they were needed. Disney sometimes wants people to stay at a resort for marketing purposes. Will that happen anytime soon for Island Tower?

Numbers from the county comptroller will always be a lagging tally of what Disney has sold because contracts can take 7-14 days from officially closing. Additionally, using the palm tree date versus the date when contracts show up, there is a larger lag than people think. (Example of the non-proofed 11/6 deeds, 9 were from the 10/1-10/8 palm tree date, 7 were from 10/17-10/25 palm tree date. That's just one sample though. Still I think it's higher than 10% that seem to delay closings for multiple payments or other reasons.

Declared units:
  • 88A - 2,526 points so far. Estimated total points for the unit 153,225.
  • 88B - 0 points so far (I believe this is smaller than 88A). Maybe someone better at reading the declaration and points for other units could figure it out.
  • 88C - 0 points so far (larger than 88D, but not sure the total points). Maybe someone better at reading the declaration and points for other units could figure it out.
  • 88D - 29,354 points of an estimated 39,000 total points for the unit
  • 88E - 60,412 points of an estimated 94,550-94,600 range
  • 88F - 3,295 points of an estimated 103,730-103,750
For unit total points the numbers divided by the percent don't provide an exact number. It's a range so I'm pick a number in between. If someone knows a better way, I'll happily use their formula.

That's a really nice touch!
A better image is in this article. It shows that top part completed. Speculation is it will continue down the wall.

There is also a wider belief it will continue to the GF side and artist renderings have definitely showed it in the triangle area near the pool. That triangle area has public balconies on every floot, which makes me wonder if this might be Moana themed tattoo artwork?

I agree there may be some errors on the Touring Plans site, but this is what I have it showing currently (percents are the percent of that view for that type of room):

I noticed scaffolding on the 3 bungalows closest to the ferry this week …and those bungalows looked empty thru windows. I know they planned to update the Polynesian “colors” to blend with the new Island Tower. Maybe they were just painting .

I also hope everybody watches the videos that accompany the new DVC Sweepstakes . The first film is about the tattoo artist and the second is the sculptor and also interior designer and Chef . My favorite was the tattoo artist but they all are working together to design this new Disney Story .
I have also driven past in the monorail to see the tattoo design on the buildings
Maui Wowee love ❤️

Terrible blurry pic but they have some very bright up lighting on the monorail facing tattoo wall. We’ll have to see but seemed perhaps permanent as opposed to construction lighting, which may make sense as it’s a showpiece look from the monorail and road. TBD.

Merry Blurry Christmas Monorail. Tower is really coming alive. With the obvious downsides of a parking lot and eventual four lane Floridian Way, no doubt the monorail (which is crazy close to the building) will provide countless hours of viewing pleasure and childhood memories from many rooms on this side of the building.
