PVB Tower Charts, Sales Date and more!!!

Has anyone seen any info on Wailulu opening and when ADR’s will be available?

We are staying at the PIT opening week and we’re hoping to grab a reservation for dinner.

The videos accompanying the current Island Towsr sweepstakes referred to it as a “walk-up” style restaurant so I was assuming no ADRs? That was the only place I had seen that wording used for Wailulu, so it stood out to me.

This is where Poly actually really worries me the most. It still seems half-lucrative for commercial renters to scoop up the standard views. Poly completely detaches from reality outside of the standard views. At best we can tell, optimistically, about 15-20% of the new tower is standard?
15-20% Standard View was the early guesses (based on maximum aggression for view assignments), though based on the first ~year of inventory it could end up being more like 40% Standard View, with Preferred View being the runt.

In terms of maximum inventory currently available on any date (without saying exactly how many rooms are available):
  • Duo Studios
    • 1x Premium View
    • 6x Standard View
    • 1x Preferred View
  • Deluxe Studios
    • 1x Theme Park View
    • ~2x Standard View
    • ~0.6x Preferred View
  • 1 Bedrooms
    • 1x Theme Park View
    • ~1x Standard View
    • ~0.25x Preferred View
  • 2 Bedroom Lock-Offs
    • 1x Theme Park View
    • ~0.8x Standard View
    • ~0.4x Preferred View

Wow that seems like way more standard than I was anticipating with more standards than preferred!

I would be 100% be okay with that spread of rooms for the tower
Unfortunately I find that usually means that it can't be accurate. 🤣

Did they declare more standard rooms early for some reason and more preferred will be added later? Like due to demand for standard favorite weeks?

Similar spot for me but with some BLT instead of VGF. I'd love some Poly points, but not at current prices.

We have a good amount of points that we have trouble using if not bringing family or friends so an occasional room at 7 months might just be good enough for us, even if it's an expensive view. I think I like the idea of cheap points used occasionally for an expensive view over points that were expensive 100% of the time.

I'll check for a smoking deal on resale as prices come down or a fire sale offer direct.
My goal is to avoid the "comma club", lol, but you've already broken that seal :)

We don't know the full inventory yet, so we don't know for sure if the early declarations are biased toward Standard View.

But there likely is some bias toward SV as the early declarations are mostly lower floors. Reasonable to expect the Standard View :: Preferred View ratio to shift as higher floors get more declared.

Though the amount in inventory available already guarantees at least 20% of Studios will be SV, even if no more SV will be added to inventory in the future.

I think we are assured that future resorts will be restricted. It only matters if you sell and most buyers direct are not thinking about resale when they buy. The secondary market being suppressed some in value gives Disney the chance to ROFR the resorts that are restricted and wash the points at some point to be direct again once they sell down the inventory or what they have. Poly sales don’t sound like they are spectacular and Riviera marches along despite not being so. Poly will sell out for sure and not take a ton of incentives to do so, just time. We purchased a 150 point Poly resale after the direct price was released to add onto our existing poly. We were looking to do 100 points direct but with zero incentives at that level we bought 150 resale for about the same money since we already have direct benefits and would have just been gaining future resorts. Having essentially the same used product on the market for less definitely hurts Disney sales some, but also having a viable resale market unlike other timeshare companies is the reason why so many like us buy DVC including our direct DL in the first place.

We are also anxious for information, but haven’t seen anything. We are there opening 3 nights.
We are torn between the bar/restaurant for fireworks or grab a beverage and watch from a pocket garden, common balcony, pool, …

Seems the building/property will have many places to enjoy the fireworks from. Expecting a lot of people to be visiting the tower that week.

Speaking of view category speculation...

I'm sure there are other resources out there that have done this (and we likely did this somewhere along the way on this thread)...and of course things can change, but from some usually reliable info I have and educated speculation, my take on view categories of the 40 declared units is below. As @ehh said a few posts above, it's pretty heavily weighted to Standard View - at least in terms of the current 40 declared units.

Pool side... from what I understand, the Preferred View category starts on floors 3+, but these second floor rooms will be Standard View given they look at the first floor roof and parapet wall. Take this with a grain of salt in case incorrect or it changes.

Monorail side, south wing.... we'll have to see how it feels in person, but it sort seems like these second floor rooms will the least desirable in the building given the immediate roof/parapet wall/front entrance view. At least you have the monorail going by very close, which is always nice.

Does anyone know if you can decorate your balcony and/or windows for Christmas? Our first stay at BLT after it opened, we put suction cups and Christmas lights on our 1BR window. We would love to do the same for Island Tower stay. If it makes a difference, we used battery lights and no outlets. It was fun to see many others did similar things at BLT December 2009.

I don’t see why not. People still decorate their rooms all the time ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Technically, the POS says that you are not allowed to do that...how much that is enforced at each location? I honestly don't know because we have never done it when we are there for the beginning of December.

I would think that they would most object to anything plugged in outside. As @Sandisw said, it’s explicitly prohibited to decorate in the POS.

I've seen balconies and windows decorated with Christmas lights at BLT every year. Whether they are plugged in or battery operated is unknown.

Heck, people even bring entire Christmas trees and put them up in the windows.

We've decorated with lights as well, both on the balcony and inside on the windows. Never had anyone tell us that it's not allowed, so likely not enforced at all.

@maui22 - you got the official rules above, and while I'm not condoning breaking Disney policy, I usually see a few balconies decorated around the holidays around property. Similar to PP, often at BLT, occasionally at VGF.

I especially enjoy this highly dedicated PVB guest who puts up this display on their third floor Moorea lagoon facing room every year. They rearrange the last digit at the turn of the calendar. I've been doing Poly for NYE for awhile now and they are always there, always on the third floor!
