Was really hoping the Railroad would be open for early November. :(
There is a possibility the Railroad will be open by late October. But the time frame for the work was scheduled originally for August to late September but it was decided no 2025 refurb for Railroad -- doing the work now so now it is slated for November reopening. Based on pictures I have seen, some areas have no track so work is progressing. Stay tuned.

Apologies, I should have searched for a more recent thread, but here's the updated HMH & IASW historical and projected downtimes for now through January 2025.

Hi Folks!

I'm updating this post for the season going into 2025. I might paste this into a new 2025 thread, or into an existing one. A few notes regarding these dates:
  1. IASW closed earlier than usual in late summer/fall 2024 for holiday overlay installation. It closed on September 16, 2024, which is a whole month earlier than usual.
  2. Official holiday time at Disneyland is November 15, 2024-January 6, 2025. That last date is on a Monday, which means any closures will not happen on that day, and will usually occur on the next business day.
  3. Multiple sites have reported that IASW will go down on January 21, 2025 and reopen Spring 2025 after an extended refurbishment. This news all but confirms that HM will go back to being the first ride down after the holidays, which is the historical norm dating back to 2010. HM was the second ride to go down these past two years (2023 and 2024).
    1. Note: January 20, 2025 is Martin Luther King, Jr. day (federal holiday) and Inauguration Day. Rides typically go down on Mondays, but move to the next business day if that falls on a holiday.
  4. Some clerical changes were made to the previous post (example: wrong year listed).

IASW overlay removal (prediction): January 21, 2025 - Spring 2025

Wow, excellent research and educated guesses, @PirateBrigade!

I think the software you were using the create the table defaulted to starting each row in the lefthand column, but the 2025 removal dates for HMH and IASW should be in the righthand column. Maybe if you put "---" or "TBD" in the lefthand columns your software will be happy because there won't be a blank cell starting that row?

Oh goodness, something wonky happened on the copy/paste. Looks like I'll be doing some editing today, haha. Good looking out!

No problem, and thanks for fixing it. Frankly, I'm surprised that you got the copy/paste to work so wel, since web-based forums don't have the world's most sophisticated text formatting. The table looks great and is very informative.

Great info!! Thanks!

Looks like the Railroad is still down for the beginning of the holiday season....Friday 11/15 amd Saturday 11/16 still down.
Yes, it doesn’t look good for my trip… (my first day is 11/16)

But I still have a little hope left (for an IT-Problem) because hungry bear is also still on the list and I‘d think that the hungry bear barbecue jamboree opens on the 15th with everything else…(parades and woc aren’t on the list yet either…)

This is subject to change...hopefully it will open sooner!!

I am seeing big thunder on the list starting 11/18…
(I desperately hope I am wrong again…:sad1: )

I am hoping all these new additions to the refurb calendar will only be for very short periods especially Big Thunder which I desperatley want open for our 9 day visit starting Dec 1. Fingers crosssed.

Dave from Freshbaked sure seems to think the Railroad will be up by late October. Not sure if he has intel or just wishful thinking but the Refurb calendar begs to differ. We shall see. I hope it is up sooner rather then later.

Yes I saw his videos, he is not always right. I do not think the Railroad will be up by the end of the month.

lol

I hope these rides closing next month are for a day....like I'm sorry ***?

Tickets around this time of year are insane, the crowds are going to really pick up, you do not want rides down now....wait until next year

I'm sorry but this season is more important then "the 70th" The real event wont be happening until spring anyway, I rather rides go down early next year then now when its peak crowds incoming for two months.
