This place is a-Blaze-ing!

We had no plans for the day except for dinner reservations and they weren't until later in the day. So, we slept in and we were perfectly fine with that. We leisurely got up, showered and reorganized our things a bit. There was no need at all to hurry. We may have to do that later in the trip but not today. Today was a lazy day.

I took this picture of our room at 11:30 a.m. Yeah, we weren't in a hurry at all today.

Our room was located in Barbados which is one of the villages located on either side of Old Port Royale. We needed to go by the front desk because my Magic Band didn't work on the door. I wanted to get that fixed now and not have something potentially not show up when we started to go to the park or when I wanted to charge with the band.

Look what a gorgeous day it was!

We took a selfie and started the walk to Old Port Royale

The Magic Band situation was fixed in no time at all and we were soon at the Old Port Royale bus stop. Lucky for us, a Disney Springs bus was sitting there like it was waiting on us or something. We had no idea where we wanted to eat. We thought maybe D-Luxe burger but a burger wasn't really what we wanted. Maybe Chicken Guy? Or did we want to try something new? By the time our bus got to Disney Springs, we had decided on something new. We just weren't sure where. We started walking and saw Blaze Pizza. The line was out the door but we could see that it was moving quickly. We got two pizzas and a side salad so that we could split it all.

The menu told us what was on it but the workers also asked what topping we wanted? Not sure what that was about but I was okay with it. This had pepperoni, sausage and onions.

And this was the BBQ chicken with onions.

The simple side salad:

Y'all! This place was a-blaze-ing! So good and, if you are paying out of pocket, the prices were budget friendly.

Dessert and shopping anyone? Yes, please!

After our lunch, we strolled around, just taking in our surroundings and talking. It was nice to get away from reality and the fact that Mama's health was declining rapidly, John's dad was not feeling well, and just every day things in general. I think that's why I was lacking on my picture taking on this day. We just wanted to feel that Disney energy.

We stopped in a few shops here and I bought my boss and a co-worker's daughters a 2025 Mickey Mouse. Nothing major. Apparently taking in the Disney energy and window shopping put us in the mood for dessert. By the time we made it to Ghiardelli's, we were in the mood for something sweet. Hum, so many choices...what to get? What to get?

IMG_6307.JPEG

Let's go with a classic banana split. Once our order was placed, they gave us a buzzer and we went in search of a table. We went over to the side and a table was right there waiting on us. Kinda like the Disney Springs bus was waiting on us. I sat out bags down and our buzzer went off just a few minutes later. Just look at this beauty!

John and I both laughed about the fact that our parents loved ice cream but there was no way in the world they'd pay this much for a banana split. We could just hear them saying they could buy a gallon of ice cream, bananas and toppings for what it cost. They were probably right but we wanted this darn banana split and we got it. We finished off the banana split and went into the nearby stores. I found all sorts of things that I wanted but refrained (for now).

Once we were done window shopping, we decided to mosey on back to the bus stop and go back to the resort. We wanted some down time before we needed to get ready for our dinner reservation. It was so nice to be back in Disney!

**Up next; O'hana means family! Nuh-uh, O'hana means potstickers!

Glad to see another TR! You're off to a great start! Love your window decorations. How wonderful to have a Disney resort that feels like home. Anxious to read more!

And now I want spray cheese and crackers. But I only allow that at Christmas time. And then I want ice cream. You are bad for my waistline!!

love your window how cute is that.
Thank you! I was pleased with it!

Welcome! I enjoy decorating our window and thought this one turned out pretty good.

We only have "squirty cheese" when we go on long trips. Isn't it crazy how we only eat certain things during certain occasions? Glad I'm not the only one who does this.

When we got to the Disney Springs bus station, we saw a Riviera bus at their nearby stop and decided to get on their bus and walk from there to Caribbean Beach. We wanted to look in their shop anyway so now was as good a time as any. Again, I'm sorely lacking in pictures other than this one of the splash area:

I am looking at the time on the above picture and it was taken a little after 5 p.m. and our dinner was at...at...I don't remember but I know we were at the bus stop at 6:52 p.m. We were going to take a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then monorail over to the Polynesian for dinner at O'hana.

IMG_6325.JPEG

I remember us having to wait in line to check in for our ADR and us waiting for quite a while for our table to be ready. I got this text at 8:27 p.m.

IMG_6330.PNG

We were shown to our table and our server magically appeared at the same time as we were seated. He had our bread and our salad.

IMG_6331.JPEG

Oops, y'all turn your head to the side so you can see the salad. This one was good but I liked the one that they served before that had the mandarin oranges in it and was already tossed in the citrus dressed.

IMG_6332.JPEG

Our server took our drink order and kept telling us that an alcoholic beverage was included. I'm not one who likes anything that tastes like alcohol but I went ahead and ordered a margarita after John said he would probably drink a little of it. I'll go ahead and tell you that he didn't and I didn't do anything but take a sip or two because it was strong. I ended up having our server bring me a lemonade. I knew better than to order the margarita but they always look so good in the pictures.

All year long, I think about the potstickers and noodles they serve at O'hana. I don't know if they are really THAT good or if they just taste THAT good because of where we eat them. I guess it doesn't really matter one way or the other. Bring them on cousin, bring them on!

O'hana means family! Nuh-uh, O'hana means potstickers! continued

I don't know about you but I could go to O'hana and eat just the "side dishes" and shrimp and I'd be happy as a pig in mud. We told our server that they could skip the steak and just send out shrimp and chicken. I took a picture of the chicken and didn't get a single picture of the shrimp.

IMG_6338.JPEG

Our cousin replenished the potstickers, wings and noodles per our request and we ate until we were stuffed. It was so good! But we weren't finished yet. There was still bread pudding and ice cream to be had. Boy is this a bad picture.

IMG_6341.JPEG

They also acknowledged our anniversary by giving us two mini cupcakes and a rice crispy treat. Kind of weird but still nice.

Had we not be on the dining plan, our total would have been:

I took a snap of this fierce looking Tiki as we were waddling our way out of the restaurant.

**Up next: So near but yet so far! Move it! I ain't getting stuck in that!

Thank you! I love that you celebrated your 50th at Disney too!

Thank you for the condolences, I sure do miss her!

I have never done O'hana for dinner, only breakfast. I keep hearing it has gone downhill a lot. Yours is actually the first review in a long time that was positive. Hmm...maybe it has to go back on the "someday" list???

I'd say put it on your "someday" list for sure. We have eaten at O'hana almost every trip and it's never disappointed. Having said that, I don't like the steak that they serve but that's just my preference. I'd rather have the chicken and shrimp.
