Aulani Owners Thread - ALOHA!

My Mom use crutches and a wheel chair… so she’ll be sitting that particular trip out.
ahh that makes sense. Have a great time!

Another tip, you dont need to be there as early as they say you do. We got there very early based off what they said and it was way too early. I saw many others say that too. But it could be that they do it because they know traffic can be crazy.

Yeah…. we signed up for a Monday at 10am and it says to be there at 9:15am. The gal that works there said to expect at least 90min of traffic…

I’m thinking around 8am departure….

We went a little later in the day. Traffic for us that day wasnt bad. We did find google maps to be accurate every time we went anywhere so that is a plus.

Also bring face masks (surgical or better) for similar reasons. They’ll give you neck gaiters, but they’re pretty ineffective if it’s dry and dusty…you’ll be eating dust.
If you show up to an ATV tour wearing a COVID mask, I will be making fun of you from a distance. 😉

Not cool.

What a bizarre response. On so many levels.
I lost my concern about “looking cool” somewhere along the way of being married for 17 years and having kiddos.

I was cool when I needed to be…. but there is a reason testosterone is supposed to drop in men as they get older…. we are all a bunch of hormonal knuckleheads in our teens and 20’s…..

Hmmm…. my kid’s lungs filled with dirt or worried that people we don’t know may “make fun of us” because it’s “not cool”….
Your kids lungs filling up with dirt? Give me a break.

I have gone ATVing in Colorado, Arizona, Mexico, Hawaii, Grand Cayman, Belize, and half a dozen less exotic places and I have not once in my life seen a single person wearing a MEDICAL mask on the trail. You will look ridiculous.

You can use the gator they give you to cover up your face w/ or w/o a mask and keep all coolness intact. I felt very cool in my Kualoa Ranch gator. It's actually a really fun surprise souvenir.

Obviously I was joking when I talked about "looking cool" because who cares? But everyone got so defensive about it that now I'm actually cracking up.

Family of 4 rolling up to the UTV tours in their N95s is just *chef's kiss.*

There is no way you could know this…, but I have a son with asthma and Crohn’s disease…. so I’m willing to look ridiculous if it means we keep him healthy. If we all wear one then he feels less like an “other”.

I’m not sure if you have children…. but I have no problem instilling in mine that life is a lot better when you give no F’s about what other people think about you. If other people want to judge us then those probably aren’t people whose opinions we care about anyways.

I currently have a 2 bed island garden view booked. Typically I am a highest floor great view person, but I have been thinking since my 1 year old granddaughter is coming this time maybe it's better to have a ground floor room Thoughts? This is what I envision... she needs a diaper change, nap, food... we just walk to the patio of the room from the pool/beach and not have to go inside the resort at all use elevator etc. Does a ground floor room work this way? Any downside to ground floor? More bugs?

You still have to lock the outside door to the room unless you are leaving someone behind…. a room key won’t do that….

Thinking of booking for 5-6 days during March 2026 spring break when YDD is a high school senior & ODD is a college sophomore...looks like the planets will align just right so they'll have the same week off. We are Aulani DVC owners. Hoping for a standard or island view studio.

I'm assuming that spring break is pretty popular...this will be our 1st time booking with our DVC points. Should I plan on 'walking' a reservation beforehand? If so, for how long ahead of time so we can get the dates we want?

We drove out yesterday from Aulani. Our jungle expedition tour was also 10am. We left about 5 mins after 8, got there about 9:15/ 9:20. Checkin/ ticket line was kinda long. I think DH done with that by 940ish if that. Then checked in at the tour starting point. We were second to check in , so second to board vehicle pick seats. It was so, so much fun with a fabulous guide. But it was waaaaaay bumpier , more thrilling taking some fast turns etc , kids, DH, and I loved it. I could tell by my MIL’s face , she was not so much . I don’t know we had a stop and a hike , she sat that out.
I know you asked bout the UTV though. But like others have said , once you chrckin at 9:15, there’s a wait.took bout 1 hour 10 or 15 to drive there. We had a later afternoon tour, hit rush hour , took 1 he, 30 mins to get back

Nah. It’s really only June and Christmas that one might want to walk….
