I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

I'm starting to think better to have only one Chase biz card when applying for another biz card. I have 2 INKs, will close one in early March so will be down to 1, and then I will give it a couple of months before applying for the next. Which hopefully will be Hyatt biz as I'm chasing globalist again, want to earn it by end-of-year for trips we want to take to Southeast Asia

The points are worth 1 cent per point (60k SUB is $600). Far as I know, there isn't any way to get more value than that.

Points post at statement close, so I go and apply them as a statement credit to the last MSR statement before the payment is due. Usually I don't end up with a credit on my account unless the last statement is too low.

The Connect biz and Triple Cash biz need to be redeemed in increments of $25, so you'll end up with leftover amounts. These can be used up on Amazon with pay with points. The Leverage biz doesn't have the increments and can be used up directly ($25 minimum redemption).

The Triple Cash biz SUB is elevated at $750 for the same $6000 spend as the Connect biz.
I like to keep the Bonus Separate and will only use it for travel. Helps with things I don't book with other points. Or I just buy Gift Cards with the Statement Credit to Disney or Carnival. I know we will eventually use these.

When I have accounts like Triple Cash, I cash them out and then move to a savings account I have for that kinda stuff. Of course, I have a US Bank account, so that makes it easier.

The points can be used to book travel or I can use as a statement credit (which I will probably do). They also can be transferred to a US Bank Bank Account. Thinking of maybe opening an account for DH just to transfer the $$. Not sure yet...
If you're interested I think there's a USB bank bonus available for new accounts. Check DoC for details. I just rec'd a bonus of $450 I think.

It’s actually been my main checking account for almost 11 years 😝
They don't seem to have much of a presence in N. Virginia. When I looked it up all I got was a bunch of ATM's inside of 7-11 stores, not something I would ever use!

Barclays pulls TransUnion, right? I was thinking of freezing the others and getting the Hawaiian card, then when I'm ready for a new Chase card, freeze TransUnion. Would that work? Didn't want to add to the 5/24 count rn!

5/24 refers to the number of new cards opened that show on your credit report, not the number of hard pulls in 24 months.
If the Hawaiian card you are applying for is a personal card if approved it will add to 5/24

Of course, I don't know what I was thinking in my sleepy stupor last night 🤦
I believe I have given the same explanation to others before. Nice to know my half-conscious self is still trying to think of ways to game the system 🤣

How does Citi feel about using gift cards to meet MSR? I've got some spend to catch up on, and I'd love to stock up on Costco gift cards while I can use a mastercard.

Good question. I am buying DGC with mine for my dues. Hope it’s not an issue

Ooh, thanks! I just applied for the silver biz checking to go along with my Triple Cash card. $500 bonus for depositing $5000 for 2 months, and 5 qualifying transactions.
Damnit! I took the $400 biz checking offer they solicited me direct for without checking if there was a better biz checking offer. Only difference is you have to do 5 qualifying transactions... good reminder, doesn't matter how long we're in this game you can still screw up the basics

Do you use it as a hub for bank bonuses? I'm still hub hunting after Ally killed my ability to add any more external accounts because of their stupid, secret, lifetime limit rule on how many external accounts you can add

I'm sure most of us here have done something similar - my last American Airlines card offer I applied for, the next day I had a better offer and they wouldn't switch it.

What is the secret rule? Ally is my hub.

Unfortunately it’s a secret from customers AND customer service reps. You can see discussion on Ally as a hub here on DoC. Just search Ally in the comments. Others have been able to get more accounts added by phone. I was definitely closer to the 100 total accounts when I got stopped from adding accounts so the level varies. (I have been with Ally for nearing 2 decades so not a new account.) After LOTS of back and forth with various CSRs they offered to add one account for me. Most CSRs were totally clueless as to what was happening and when they tried to add accounts for me the system wouldn’t even let them.

Sometimes I do. I have moved money through there if needed. I have discover also. I use a combo of all three. The other two for savings and the us bank for paying bills, payroll deposits etc. I am not sure if there is a limit to accounts you can link.
