I have been reading up on all the LLMP and rope-dropping strategies and feel like my head is about to explode! We will be able to book HS LLMP 8 days in advance for a busy time in April. We will be able to rope drop early entry and will try to buy a pass for Rise. I've been following Thrill Data and checking morning wait times and see that wait times are insane and 8 days out might not be able to get me Slinky or Rise but I guess we'll see. Would love a temp check on whether the following makes any sense--
Plan A (like everyone else): LL for Slinky, Toy Story Mania, and ToT. These are all likely to be later in the day, but if ToT is around 12:30, I would keep these and rope drop MMRT and maybe RnR and at 12:30 be able to get LL for less popular rides.
Plan B - if top LL picks are all afternoon or later: get LL for Slinky, Toy Story Mania and burner LL like Frozen. Rope drop ToT and MMRT and after burner get LL for RnR.
Question: Does it make sense to take whatever times I can get for Slinky, TSM and ToT and keep checking back for earlier times until a few days before we go, and then switch to a burner LL like Frozen (which seems to almost always have 9:05 available a few days in advance)? Or is it so unlikely for earlier times to appear that I should just take the pressure off and book the burner LL right away?
Question: Will we be able to do 2 rides (some combo of MMRT, ToT and RnR) at early entry before tapping into first burner LL?
Plan C - if Slinky is not available: Get LL for TSM, ToT, and then either MMRT or RnR (depending on which is earlier). Rope drop Slinky.
Plan D - if Slinky AND Rise are both not available--probably still rope drop Slinky and try to get on Rise later in the day.
I would love any evaluation/feedback or insight on something I may have missed or misunderstood. Thank you!

Can't help with most of it, but I am planning on trying your Plan A (Slinky, ToT, TSMM) this Sunday for my upcoming trip, so I can let you know how that goes. I will also be buying LLSP for Guardians at Epcot for the same day. The rest of it I can't speculate on.

We were at HS the Sunday of President’s day weekend. It was very busy time at the park. HS was our first park. I booked slinky, Toy Story, and muppets as a burner. Slinky was late in the evening. Day of I moved Toy Story up to mid morning. We had early entry. Got there just before the let people head to the rides. Headed to rock and roll. Was off in 15 minutes. Headed directly over to tower of terror, it was walk on. Later in the day I was able to book both rides with LLMP. By 4 pm we had ridden everything but slinky. We did buy LLSP for ride. Having the burner lightening lane early in the day is key to being able to book the other rides.

Yes - take what you can get and then try to edit. Will be much easier to modify than get freshly.

You can easily do the first ride during EE. The 2nd one you'll likely be able to be in line for during EE but may not be off until regular crowds have arrived.

Thanks so much, super helpful info! @woody5 do you think it was still worth getting there so early if you were able to get LLMP for the rides later anyway?

My family wanted to be able to ride rock and roll and tower of terror two times with little wait, so for us it was worth it. We did not arrive super early. EE was at 8:00 and we got in the line for rock and roll at about 7:55.

In August, we booked our 3 LLMP rides for TOT, TSMM, and SDD for day 1 of trip. SDD wasn't available until like 7:00 PM. The other two were mid-late afternoon times that I was able to move up in the days leading up to our trip. Earlier times for Slinky never did come up. We arrived at the hotel (BWI) around 11:30ish, dropped off our bags and headed straight to HS and our TSMM LL. Even though we missed out on early entry we still managed to get additional LLs for several other things.

When I was there in November, I didn't book LLMP for my HS day, and managed to knock out RNRC, TOT & was in line at MMRR by shortly after 9.

My knee jerk would normally but to agree with take 1 except I saw a recent Molly video the other day where she made a strong argument that burners aren't actually necessary at HS unless you're hopping to another park, and I'm actually inclined to agree with her after I had a long thought. Especially if you plan to rope drop. It's just way easier to pull the non-SDD Tier 1 rides and Tier 2 at HS same day than say trying to pull Frozen or Remy same day at Epcot; I would say that as long as your first tap in is somewhere in the 9-10 hour you'll probably be okay as long as you're not trying to pull Slinky day of. I would even say 10a would probably be fine.

Question: Will we be able to do 2 rides (some combo of MMRT, ToT and RnR) at early entry before tapping into first burner LL?

As long as you are front of pack in the rope drop crowd and assuming no operational difficulties this is extremely easy to do. My standard HS rope drop strategy for years has been starting at Tower and working my way back to MMRR and the only time I have not been able to get both ToT and RNRC done during EE is once when RNRC was on a delayed start. Even Tower running only 1 elevator, which happens on occasion, won't matter if you hit it first and you're at the front. If you're in one of the first couple of loads you'll be straight. Typically I find myself at MMRR around regular park open and it's usually a walk on to the preshow room then.
