Hallmark Movies ❤️ comfort & joy

This bit of news deserves it's own post so as to not get overlooked. :jumping1:

News came out earlier that Signed, Sealed, Delivered would have a second new movie coming out. That second movie will be Signed, Sealed, Delivered: To the Moon and Back and will premiere in 2025.

"In 2025, fans will see some “exciting life changes” for the bunch as To the Moon and Back airs. “Their latest investigation takes them on a road trip to not only find the recipient of a lost letter, but to track down a rock star who holds the keys,” Hallmark teases."

“The enduring support from our ‘POstable’ fans over the past eleven years has been our constant motivation and inspiration,” creator Martha Williamson said in a press release. “They have waited so long for another chapter in the lives of their beloved Dead Letter family, all the while continuing to keep the flame alive with podcasts, posts, and even in-person gatherings throughout the country. There are no fans like SSD fans, and we are thrilled and humbled to continue this remarkable journey with them.”

I really like the second Godwink movie too, with Cindy Busby. It's called A Godwink Christmas: Meant for Love. Although, according to the IMDb, it's been renamed to Another Christmas Coincidence. So, you might be on the lookout for it under that name.
@Imzadi, do you know why the movies are sometimes renamed? I was watching one I had DVR'd last year, and while the title it was saved as didn't change, the title on the bottom of the screen when it started playing did :confused3

I think when Amazon or one of the other streaming sites is allowed to air the movie, they put it under the other name to try to get new or more viewers? I don't really know. :confused3

I'm guessing with that one that it appeals to a wider audience without an obviously religious name.

I won't be shy, I watched the Postables movie from Friday night and I LOVED it! It's a highly recommend for me. party:

I enjoyed it too - it was so nice to have a new one!! (And I'm pretty sure that ending set up for at least one more! 😉)

Without giving anything away here for those who haven't watched yet -
Had you guessed that Shane was expecting?

Except the movie is religious/faith based. And one would find that out as they watched the movie. And if they aren't into that, they end up turning the movie off.

I have noticed movies sometimes with more than one different name. Sometimes a search names the film, Hallmark Christmas Movie followed by a year (not necessarily the year of the movie). Odd indeed. I hope all of you have had a good weekend with an enjoyable movie too :)

I'm sure some would, but I think many people not specifically looking for a religious movie might pass it over on a list, but might not be bothered by the overtones if they started watching it and were enjoying the story. (I can't say for sure, though, as I haven't seen that particular movie.)

The first two Godwink movies are of my favorites. They are executive produced by Kathie Lee Gifford. So, already there is money and some clout going in. Then the scripts were based on real life, so the writers had more to work off of.

I strongly suspect that Kathie Lee was responsible for casting Kimberley Sustad. She's always been a strong actress. But in the few years previous, she was relegated to the "best friend" roles. Kimberley & Paul had real chemistry together.

In the second Godwink movie, while Cindy Busby was cast as the lead, this movie and Unleashing Mr. Darcy are the only two Hallmark movies I like her in. That actually says a lot about how good this movie has to be. :lmao:

(The third and fourth moves were just so-so, in my opinion.)

The last Hallmark movie I saw which I really did enjoy about a small-town family inn was called B&B Merry. My drawbacks to this film were lack of faith mentioned overall and I did not care for Tracey not being upfront that she was being paid to also review the inn's hotel competitor. The other family home type movie I saw within the last couple of days was Heart of the Manor. Very picturesque setting. I loved Matthew's friends who rent out their huge home for family reunions. The back and forth between Matthew and Lisa went on way too long and I was so done with their fighting and the same with Whitney and her fiancé Jeff over his cooking for their wedding--enough already!

Still/always would appreciate any free full-length movie suggestions. Thanks, friends🎄

Hallmark News:

Hallmark is launching a new, hopefully improved streaming service in September, to take over for Hallmark Movies Now. It is being called Hallmark Plus or Hallmark+. The new streaming service will also see a cost increase. While Movies Now plans start at $59.99 a year or $5.99 a month, the new plans will start at $79.99 a year or $7.99 a month, Variety reported.

The new service will have more new content: "a limited Christmas series called “Holidazed,” Variety reported. The series will be about six families who come together for the holiday. Erin Cahill, Holland Roden, John C. McGinley, Ian Harding, and Dennis Haysbert will be among the stars."

Also, confirmed this week:

"Inspired by the massive success of the Hallmark Channel‘s Wedding Veil movie franchise and 2022’s Three Wise Men and a Baby, Hallmark Media has unveiled its first male-dominated movie franchise, The Groomsmen, starring Tyler Hynes, Jonathan Bennett, and B.J. Britt, per Variety."

"The Groomsmen movies — “First Look,” “Second Chances,” and “Last Dance” — will follow the “lives and romances of three longtime best friends” who stand up for each other at their weddings, Variety said. Bennett plays Danny, “a baseball coach with a heart of gold,” Britt plays Pete, a “kind-hearted pediatrician with a penchant for planning,” and Hynes plays Jackson, a “stylish and charming social media agent.”

The series & the Groomsman movie trilogy will NOT be shown on the regular Hallmark Channel to get people to sign up for the new streaming service.

I have mixed feelings about this. I'm glad they are creating new content, but I'm pretty maxed out on streaming services. I have a ridiculous number and it's hard to justify adding yet one more. :confused3

I might do what I do for Netflix. Wait until a whole series is up and then binge them all in a month, then cancel.

Although, there probably won't be an overlap with the Christmas series and the Groomsmen trilogy. They will probably pull the Christmas series in January and run The Groomsmen series in Jan - Mar like they did with the Wedding Veil series. So, late in March - April may be the time to get a month to binge that.

The Christmas series may eventually show during a Christmas in July just like they are showing two of the movies now. So, I can wait for that series to have something new in Christmas in July.

I did record it! Very excited to watch it later :hyper:

And thanks for the tip about the Christmas movies today, too - I just set a couple of those as well.

Still haven't seen it yet. But I accidentally started watching the first movie again as it was streaming on one of the free services. Then of course, got hooked on watching the SSD series of the 1 hour episodes all over again. They have those On Demand on YouTube TV.

I still get all misty-eyed watching them, just like the first (and every other) time.

Thank you, Imzadi. The description of Heaven Down Here reminds me of Miracle on Highway 34, a movie I would highly recommend. Wishing you my friend and everyone else in this kind and merry thread a great Saturday.

I haven't watched this, just peeked in for a bit. I wonder if this wasn't originally produced so Lifetime would buy the movie. But, either Hallmark swooped in and bought it, or Lifetime isn't going to be airing as many Christmas movies this year and passed on the movie? :scratchin They didn't have very many movies last season as the Writers & Actors strikes killed the ability to make movies in the U.S.

Maybe they realized they can get along with showing less Christmas movies? 🤔 Katie Leclerc and Ryan McPartlin are two of their normal stars. It seems strange to me that they'd pass on a movie made with both of them. I'm just speculating though.
