Feel more motion on Disney Magic than Disney Wish?

We just got off Disney Wish, and we only felt like we were on a ship for one brief moment on the ship. It was very smooth. The weather was amazing though, so I am not sure if that is why we felt no rocking. We were considering the Magic, but I am not sure since it is an older ship if you feel the rocking much more than the newer ships. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Certainly, it has to do with the conditions of the seas rather than the particular ship. I have not been on the Magic, but I've been on her sister, the Wonder, twice...once with one night of rough seas and the other time was smooth the whole time. I sailed the Dream last year and also had one night of rough seas, so....like I said, I don't think the ship matters as much as the conditions. The Magic is the only ship I haven't had the pleasure of enjoying yet....YET! :sail::boat:

We’ve sailed the Magic, Wonder, Dream, Fantasy, and Wish, 30 DCL cruises total. Itineraries have ranged from 4 to 14 nights. In our experience, the sea conditions have more to do with how smooth the sailing is. All of the ships have stabilizer systems, but rough seas will likely be felt onboard any cruise ship. We book midship cabins to reduce some of the ships motions while in our cabin, particularly at night, and have found motion to be most noticeable in the aft dining rooms. Palo dining (aft on a high deck) has sometimes had enough motion that at least one person in our dining party had to leave the dining room prior to the end of the meal.

The Wish does have newer stabilizers, so in equal conditions it's likely you'd feel less movement on the Wish than the Magic. But, as previously mentioned, the biggest factor on whether you'll feel movement is the quality of the seas when you sail.

You definitely will feel it more on the Magic. One of our cruises on the Wish, I was asking DH when we were leaving Castaway Cay and he said we'd already left. I never felt the ship move. Exceedingly smooth and you almost never hear the engines. But I wouldn't say that I the Magic is that rocky and we've been on her at the periphery of storms (though the pool water was moving side to side quite a bit).

Agree. Of all the DCL ships and itineraries I've been on (including the North Sea in Norway), the only time that I felt the effects of "Mal de Mer" was during rough sea conditions on the Wish while returning to Florida from Castaway Cay.
