Disneyland 70th speculations and news

Ugh. I was kinda hopping for a paint the night dessert party kinda vibe- but $55 a person for plaza inn food from 1-4pm and then a standing room only reserved spot? No thanks. The fried chicken isn't even an option! Have never needed reserved spots for parades.
I don't mind the reserved spot, because I hate camping out for an hour or more to get a spot that my kids can see from. But I think we will just get some snacks and stake out a kerb spot.

Well that is not the Paint the Night option I wanted. $55 for meatloaf and pea puree, guess we'll be saving some money.

I thought “surely juxtapose is exaggerating for comedic effect….surely Disney wouldn’t make *meatloaf* and baby food the only meal available for a premium dining experience….”

Then I clicked the link and all desire to book this package evaporated. Pea purée, really?

I guess if you were to get a $18 entree, $7.50 side salad (theoretically 1/2 the price of the full Cobb salad), a $7.50 dessert, and a $4.50 fountain drink from the regular menu, it’s “only” a ~$16 or so premium for the dining package. Of course it only makes sense if you want to, y’know, eat the food.

Actually I think you can ask for anything on the menu plus get the special dessert and drink...price is still $55.

I wonder if you can get the kids meal. I'd happily eat that for the adult price over the adult meal.

It says, "This dining package will not be available June 14 to 16, 18; July 4; August 17, 2025."

I get July 4. June 16 & 18 are Pride Nites. What is June 14 and August 17?

Also, it looks like PTN will shut down on August 21 for the holidays. And they confirmed two shows per night.

  • Showtime: All Guests will receive a voucher for the day’s first performance of the Paint the Night parade

It's June 14 to 16 - the 15th is Father's Day, and Plaza Inn did a special Father's Day character brunch last year, so it might be prep and/or trying not to collide with that.

No idea on August 17th. It's the night of the first OBB, but that's probably a coincidence.

That's what I was thinking. I would not want that dinner they're serving. I wonder how the view is? I don't usually do parade packages but maybe it's worth it this time. I guess I'll see what people say about it the first week or so.

Shutting down august 17 until when? Seems odd they would stop PTN when Halloween parade and OBB are at DCA, no?

Ahh, missed that it was 14-16. Thanks!

They are not offering the dining package on August 17. I don't know if the parade is happening or not.

I think they are stopping Wondrous Journeys in order to do Halloween fireworks. And then, of course, the Christmas Fantasy Parade & fireworks.

When they first announced that PTN was coming back, they said that it would take a break for the holidays. I didn't know if they meant Halloween (begins August 22) or the December holidays (begins November 14). Looks like it stops on August 21 and probably resumes on January 8.

I actually think this might sell out, I saw quite a lot of "buzz" on FB and most people seemed quite excited about the food. If you can believe it. I've sent an email to DL to see if I can get more info on the plant based offering.

Its a lot.....but I think I'll do it once

I'm going the first Saturday and assume its going to be hard to get a front row spot without waiting a long time, this shouldn't be as long and at least the last time I did this it wasn't too hard to get a front row spot as long as you get to the area 5 mins before it opening

I'll be curious to see what they say!

We did one of the parade packages a few years ago. I am guessing last time Main Street Electrical parade made a comeback. I booked for 2 adults, but when I got there, I told them I was with my elderly mom and could I just have a kids portion as she would never eat the full adult meal and I hated wasting the food. It was no problem at all. Gave me a kids meal and then charged me the kids price. I was willing to pay the full amount, but the cast member said not to worry about it. So that was actually quite nice. I am sure you will be able to get the kids meal and just be prepared to pay the full price.

That would be great. The kids' meal sounds better!
