Fall Direct Incentives

Sorry if this has been answered previously, but does anyone know if they are offering Magical Beginnings on any properties this cycle? I have heard they are not on Poly, but wasn't sure about Riviera, etc.
I believe RIV is still eligible.

Personally I think there’s a stronger argument to be had for staying at Pop or Aoa vs buying DVC over in WDW. I don’t think DL has a good comparison staying cheaper is a completely different experience.
See I think the opposite. The onsite benefits at WDW are a necessity and the proximity of offsite options is generally as bad as the onsite ones. The onsite benefits at DLR are pretty useless and the proximity of offsite options are great.

There appears to be a major divide between those who think that walking 1-2 blocks in Anaheim on city streets is so horrible it’s better to pay an extra $200/night and walk much longer through DTD to stay at an inferior hotel that’s inside the bubble and those of us who are content to cross Harbor or Katella on foot (or via ~$10 ride share) to save money and also stay somewhere more comfortable.

For the record, I think the Grand Californian is worth a significant upcharge based on location (even if the rooms are a bit worn), PPH is convenient if you’re willing to cross Disneyland Dr to enter at Pixar, and we stayed there somewhat often before the face lift and huge price jump…but at $600/night+ I just don’t get it.

Yeah grand cal is absolutely worth paying more for than any of the Harbor/Katella hotels; even still I could never pay rack rate there.

I’ve seen some conference rates though that I would definitely pay. $72 for a weekend pass to a conference I don’t actually want to go to to save me $1500? Ultimate Disney hack.

This is me. Grand Californian is amazing we all know that. I have always loved DLH as well. Taking the monorail can cut out most of the walk. My biggest complaint with VDH is the distance even compared to DLH. It has always been worth it to me to spend the extra money for reasons I won’t get into here because I don’t want people coming after me with the pitchforks, but I also just spent over 100k on DVC so maybe I just spend frivolously.

Whoooaaaaaaa. How have I never heard of this. Off to google/reddit I go.

For real, keep us posted!! :)
I can almost guarantee it isn’t worth it unless it is a conference you are encouraged or paid to go to by your employer. I’ve gone to a number of conferences and to get the hotel rate, you are supposed to be signed up for the conference (which is usually an outrageous price).

I don’t know if it’s a widely known thing? I can give a specific example in DMs to those interested but if becomes like a thing that will obviously be problematic for the conferences themselves.
