Everything Park Reservations - Please Read Post 1

I noticed that. We just don’t like purchasing something like this so far ahead. Say we buy the tickets on the app and get the reservation on the day we need but then something happens that prevents us from going that day, can we move the tickets to a different day?

You do not need to make a park reservation for a dated ticket which is what you're purchasing. I know if you don't use that ticket it retains the value on your MDE account. If you use it later on a date where the ticket price is more expensive you will need to pay the difference in the price. If the day you go is less expensive, you will not be issued a refund for the difference.

I would recommend you ask the ticket questions on the ticket thread as @lanejudy is very skilled at answering ticket questions and this thread is intended for questions about park reservations.

I had posted last night that the parks were all booked and then we ended up snagging a HS reservation at 2am by refreshing because we were lucky.

Going to the parks today HS and then Epcot at 2pm I have NOOOOOOOO idea why they were fully booked. Tower of Terror was 20 minutes at 10am. Star Wars (forget name but with the 6 people per ride) was 30 minutes (Aerosmith was 2 hours of course but that's because it is closing). Moving on to Epcot we did Soaring walk on 2 times, Nemo walk on, Figment walk on and others had normal waits. It makes NO sense the parks had no reservations left. So not sure what that means but I thought I would update about it.

The only thing I can guess is that there were a lot more AP guests there today as opposed to guests who purchased date based tickets. Most APs were blocked out for the last couple of weeks so guessing some wanted to return now that they can. Local schools were also closed today which would increase the number of AP families in attendance.

Glad your experience was what it was! Always a treat when you anticipate it being busy and it being the opposite!

Hi there! I reviewed the first post, but I still have some questions! I used to go to WDW all the time, but haven't been since 2012 and it seems like everything has changed! My DH and I are taking a quick weekend trip with my BF and her DH in March. We have a single room reservation at the Swan (bunking together to save some cash!), currently under my BFs name, but don't have tickets with that. We will be buying a 2 day park ticket separately and will do 1 day at HS and 1 day at Epcot. We will be buying the tickets just a bit more than 60 days out from our trip, so they will be dated tickets.

Here are my questions:
1. When we buy our tickets, do we select our park days at that point?
2. In order to link our 4 tickets together as one party, do we all need to be logged into the same account on the My Disney app? Meaning one of us will create the account and add 1 ticket and the other 3 will just use the same login info on our apps when we add our tickets?
3. We are going to try to get an ADR for the fireworks dining package at either R&C or SRT for our Epcot day. It looks like we have to already have an Epcot reservation in order to request that. Is that correct? And I'm assuming that if all 4 of our tickets are listed on the app, we can get an ADR for 4?
4. Do we need to add the other 3 people to the room ressie in order to get early entry, etc?

No. You just go to the park you want to each morning.

You can have 4 different MDE accounts if you wish or, one for each family. You will want to add yourselves together via Friends and Family.

No. ADRs are not linked to park tickets so you can book an ADR without a park ticket.
4. Do we need to add the other 3 people to the room ressie in order to get early entry, etc?
Yes. All of you need to be on the room reservation to be eligible for early entry. Normally they will just ask to scan one person's MDE of the group but it's best to have all on the reservation.

Thank you so much!!

This is more of a technical issue in making reservations for our APs. When I go to make reservations on my iPad or iPhone, I get a blank screen for the view/modify/make reservations link, basically like the page didn’t load. I ended up making reservations on my computer, but it will be a problem while we’re there if we need to make a change. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem and what was the workaround.

This happens to me sometimes - my main device is an iPad. Log out of Disney on the browser. Shut down the browser - completely quit it. Restart the browser. Log back into Disney. Give it another try.
Alternatively try a different browser. I mostly use safari, but occasionally I have issues but sometimes chrome works.
In short, I have had the issue but it’s not a permanent one for me, it comes and goes.

Finally figured out one solution. I ended up opening an incognito window in my browser, was able to log in and make my reservations. Also, if you want to go back in to check your reservations, delete the old incognito window and open a new one. Apparently, the old window leaves traces that gives you a blank screen.

I thought WDW was gonna discontinue the theme park reservation requirement in 2024. When we booked a few weeks back, I saw the calendar for reservations. Did I miss something, or did I just hear wrong? Our last trip down there was December 2023 :confused3

They dropped the Park reservations for the new Date based tickets in January 2024. If you have an AP or older UN-dated tickets then you still need to make a park reservation.

You also need reservations if you get the Military Salute tickets.
