Everything Park Reservations - Please Read Post 1

We are going to to stay at Pop Century from 11/30-12/08. We decided to extend our vacation after, but Pop was no longer available.
So we're going to stay off-site for 2 nights and extend our tickets for 8 days to 10 day tickets.

Will I need a reservation for those last 2 days?
Date based tickets (ones where you have to pick start date) don't require park reservations. Staying off-site doesn't change that.

You won't need to make park reservations but keep an eye on the eligibility dates of the tickets to ensure they are still valid on the dates you're staying offsite. They should be but, it's always better the check.

Okay we have military tickets and trying to make park reservations. The page to make or modify will not populate, multiple browsers, used app, incognito mode etc. Everything else works on app or browser, but I cannot make park reservations.

Sounds like good ol' Disney IT at its finest :(

On Monday, I have an EPCOT reservation to get a Gaurdians Virtual Queue at 7am and then immediately switch to Animal Kingdom for rope drop. What is the likelihood that i won’t be able to switch the reservatiom to animal kingdom due to availability. It says available now, does it change frequently day of?

Zero risk. I don’t remember the last time AK filled to capacity for those requiring park reservations.

If a park day is showing that there are no reservations available can you still get in if you have a date based ticket?

Yes, normally. Exceptions may be Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Years Day, etc. if the park fills to capacity for all guests. If you are planning to go to the parks on one of those days it's best to arrive early and plan to stay.

Thankyou. The day we are looking at is November 8th which is the first Christmas party and l am assuming that is the reason it is full. We are only planning to stay till about 3:00 anyways as we have other plans for later. Do you think it will be busy during the day as well or not get busy until closer till 4:00.

You will be fine that day. Also, I'm not sure where you are looking but I just checked Nov 8th and park reservations are available at all parks.

If your ticket does not require a park reservation, you will not be allowed to try to book a reservation.

Thanks, earlier today it was yellow and not available. Who knows. 😊

AP question! I have a Sorcerer‘s pass and will be at WDW over Veterans Day weekend. I have a reservation for a DVC stay at VGF. Was thinking of trying to purchase the LLPP pass for Saturday at Magic Kingdom as it’s a one-time trip for my friend (my 7-day window opens this Friday). However, I have already made a reservation for Hollywood Studios that day. I just went in to see if I could change my AP to MK for that day, but on the Saturday in question (11/9) when I hit modify it says “modifications aren’t allowed for my type of pass” that day and that I’d have to first cancel my original park res and then rebook. Makes me nervous….

I guess the question is whether park reservations been have sold out for AP’s during busy times over the past few months? And aren’t resort guests exempt from that? I’m really hesitant to cancel my DHS reservation if I’m not going to get an MK one to replace it.

Appreciate any insight as I may also have to be doing this on the fly at 7am Friday morning when I try to book. If I get a MK park reservation now but can’t get the LLPP on Fri am, I’d then have to switch my park res back again to go back to my original LLMP schedule, which would have me at Hollywood Studios that morning. I’d also of course be losing precious minutes for booking other attractions for other parks that weekend.

Also hoping there might be some reports today and tomorrow of how quickly the LLPP’s sell out.

Many thanks!

Be aware that yesterday Disney Food Blog reported that Hollywood Studios is out of park reservations for 11/9.
If that is accurate and you drop yours, you probably can't get it back if you change your mind again.

Thanks so much for the heads up! I did end up calling today. I had to move heaven & earth to modify the AP park reservation to MK on 11/9 however . Even though Sat 11/9 was showing “available” for MK on the park reservation calendars, it would NOT let me modify. I called tech and they had the same problem. They told me that they would have to cancel my Hollywood Studios for that day first before they could try to book MK , and they couldn’t guarantee me that I would get MK. So strange. However, I rolled the dice, they tried it and it all worked out. I actually modified the DHS to Monday the 11th (which had availability and was able to do that on my own). I’m guessing park reservations may be almost sold out at MK for Saturday the 9th, so maybe they are managing it carefully? Really glad I looked into this today or it may have been too late.

Do you have extended evenings on your dates? Mon is usually Epcot.
Not sure if this was meant for me, but yes, we’ll have Epcot EE Monday night. Planning to do DHS that afternoon and head over to Epcot for the evening. It’s a short weekend trip as we fly in Friday night and fly out Tuesday morning!
