Don't wanna stay there anymore

...
We love the Epcot resort area and if using DVC points -it's Boardwalk hands down, all day every day. If paying cash, we very much enjoyed both Yacht and Beach Club (club level rooms) and would stay stay club level there again as it's just perfect to have a grab and go breakfast in the lounge then head to International gateway. We would NOT return to the BCV however. We didn't love that separate building in the back of the resort facing nothing. For us -that is the DVC resort that we have had this realization about.
Like you, I was not excited about the Backlot feel of the Beach Club DVC building.

As to a Skyliner or Monorail to AKL, I think if they were going to spend the money, it would have happened as a marketing tool when Kidani was added. And for Skyliner, you'd have a truly Major bus shortage whenever Skyliner is down.

So the way bcv is set up is it kind of like grand floridian where it's seperate buildings in back of main beach club? So you're not actually at the beach club main lobby resort? Is it far and are there multiple buildings?

My family universally can't get enthused about SSR or OKV so those are off the list. We almost never have a car and rely on Disney transportation - enough said. I have not stayed at AKV, but DW and DD did once - even stayed club level...and were not impressed. Again, it was the transportation that was the deal-breaker. We just recently changed from our home resort (BLT did not have full availability for the week we are now going)) to an alternate due to a changed school schedule and they would not hear of staying at AKV. What surprised me is where we ended up - RIV. Points charts, generally not our vibe, so we had ruled it out - but going to give it a try. It's about time we take advantage of getting our resale contract before the restrictions kicked in.

The nice part about BCV is that you can get to the marketplace and main lobby under a covered walkway!

It doesn’t really seem too far removed to us
I saw that! The video I watched seemed to be trashing the views saying that the views from the main building rooms are better

Beach Club isn’t really about the views. The rooms mostly don’t have them, in the hotel or the villas. We have had nice views of a big flowering bush. And honestly I loved it. It’s peaceful! No giraffes on the savanna, but it is calm and relaxed in comparison with the busier lobby.

I liked the Donald theme, he's a family favorite! Minnie is my favorite so I'm sooo excited for her beach bash Breakfast! Beaches and cream looks good too, I'm excited about the dining at BCV! Picturing myself walking down the boardwalk with some ice cream 🍦 🍨 😀

Yeeeessss! We also love the Donald theme in our family. We love the Cape May breakfast. We love the beautiful and busy lobby. Somehow still relaxing. And Beaches and Cream is fun (but busy! Can be hard to book but the takeout window is fun).

The one time I stayed at BCV, I was in one of the rooms facing The Land over the canal. It was surprisingly cool for a "resort with no views." I think the only request I put in was "not facing the pool."

It's about 2 3/4 miles as the crow flies from the POP/AoA station to the AK entry plaza. The longest station-to-station segment now is about 2/3ds of a mile (counting the BWV turn as a "station")
This right here. There's zero chance they'd ever run that far without 3 or 4 intermediate stations (and there's no place or reason to do so). Too much cable, too much weight (cable and buckets) meaning significantly larger machinery, and far too many buckets to evacuate, never mind how remote some of them would be.

The one resort I would prefer not to stay at again is SSR. We actually enjoy the treehouses, and have been staying at them since I was a kid (and they were part of the Disney Institute), but its a pain getting to and from them with the internal bus system and I feel like the theming at the resort in general is lackluster. There’s just too many other, better resorts there than to settle for a place we don’t love.

They don't even have to link it to the rest if they don't want to though. Just from AKV to AK park is enough. Maybe to Coronado or Blizzard beach or the All Stars resorts if they are feeling ambitious

This level of realization is how I have ended up with owning RIV, VGF and SSR now. I have owned BRV, BLT, and BWV over the years and after staying at every place but OKW, I found that I just love RIV and VGF so those always get booked and very rarely do I switch.

I simply can't bring myself to AKV or OKW at all, even when it will save me points. Now, when I book a last minute trip....just booked a few nights in June, then I might have to choose something else....we will be in a 2 bedroom at BLT instead of at RIV, only because its a non park trip and fewer points...and my friends want to be on the monorail!

Other than that, it alwasy comes back to RIV and VGF....
I'm with Sandi on the RIV love, we own all RIV now even though we've owned BLT, AKV, CCV and BCV in the past. That is the beautiful thing about DVC and the resale market, and why I hesitate to buy into any other timeshares; you do at times get tired of resorts and it's easy to sell and buy differently.

I would say CCV lost its luster quickly because I really did not like their QS and I felt the pool areas were way too small for the resort (we never found a chair the entire time we were there either time). Also, OKW is not one I'd return to.
