Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

So we are back from our 5 day trip so here are my thoughts. First, the rooms are nicely rehabbed with fresh paint, new rugs and curtains. Also new chair and ottoman, plus now wall dispensers. No more individual shampoos, conditioners. There are individual soaps,Body lotion, dental kits and shower caps. Needs to ask for more supplies, different than years past where mousekeeping we’re giving things away. No big deal, just a difference.

Now for the lounge: New paint, rugs and furnishings. The beer and wine area at night is now on the extreme left near the big TV, that’s an improvement. Also hot entrees are now in the left instead of laid out on the right. Most importantly there are now hot not lukewarm. Did not see any difference in what was offered but I must say, the Salmon and rice was perfectly done. All the usual offerings from breads, vegetables etc…. Deserts were great and certainly in my option just as good as anything the Cake Bake Shop had to offer, just smaller. The expresso machine broke down for one day and the CM’s offered me credits if I ordered a latte in the Ale and Compress marketplace. Nice touch but I did not need that perk. I also reported since SAB is being rehabbed that CL guest could use the pool at Luna Park ( Boardwalk). YC offered a dedicated shuttle to BWI at the Marina. The pool at YC was never crowded no need to use that perk.
Now to the question that everyone is talking about.: Major work being done at the pool and the external areas of the YC. Roof and siding plus painting. The pool is definitely a work in progress. Definitely going in for months. At least 20 or more workers just for the pool and many more working on the building. They are transporting all the workers to and from the YC. As I reported the work did not bother us. The scaffolding as right outside my balcony working from 9 to 5 everyday. It may bother others but I was not at the hotel from 8 AM to 3PM.
It was one of our better trips. CM’s could not have been more outgoing and were outstanding. I have a bounceback booked for December 2025 YC WV non CL. I could not get a CL room at YC. I booked also for the same dates a CL WV room non bounceback. It’s amazing the difference in price for 7 day 6 night Trip (11K vs 6.5 K) non bounceback vs bounceback). If there are questions please let me know.

thanks for taking the time during your vacation to post!

Wow. Still pretty torn up and lot of work to do. Guess I’m should stop holding out for an early summer YC stay… 😢
It's still March and a lot can happen before summer. I'm heading there tomorrow and obviously know what to expect, but I'll be back in July and I have every reasonable expectation that we'll be hanging out at SAB. The announcement says end of June for completion and I think it's too soon to worry about it going over.

I’m still holding on to my YC for now. I’ll wait to see how things look by early to mid May just on the off chance. I have a good feeling you’ll be fine for July. Hope you have a good trip tomorrow

Yep I agree. All signage here still says end of June and 3 months is a lot of time.

Scaffolding Goes Up as Disney's Yacht Club Undergoes Roof Renovation

Construction is now underway on a roof replacement project at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, so far concentrated on buildings facing Stormalong Bay.

Scaffolding has been installed along a significant portion of the resort’s exterior, particularly around guest rooms closest to the pool area. A large construction wall is in place at ground level, partially enclosing the walkway between the lakefront and the Yacht Club’s entrance.

This roof work comes as the resort already manages the ongoing refurbishment of Stormalong Bay, which is closed through June 2025. The two projects overlap in the same area, with both the pool and portions of the resort exterior now active construction zones.

Disney has not announced a timeline for the roof replacement, but it could seem likely it will be completed around the same time as Stormalong Bay this summer. Guest access remains available to the Yacht Club lobby and adjacent areas, though walkways may be rerouted near the lakefront.

We stopped by this morning and watched as the Disney Culinary Team carefully lifted the giant, hand-crafted eggs into position. Each piece is intricately detailed and created entirely from chocolate and other edible materials.

Some additional construction photos:

Tower of New Scaffolding Rises Near Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht Club

Over by the exit area of the pool’s waterslide, more concrete has been removed from the bottom of the pools. At this point, it appears the old concrete has been scraped off of the entire pool.

An empty pool under construction, with a large vacuum truck nearby. The scene is reminiscent of Disney’s Yacht Club, surrounded by rocks and sand, near a building with white railings.

In many locations, the concrete removal has revealed the metal bars and structures lining the bottom of the pool’s surface.

Construction workers in hard hats and orange vests are busy at an outdoor site, surrounded by partially built concrete structures and a towering new scaffolding. Nearby, the familiar architecture of Disney’s Yacht Club provides a stunning backdrop to their diligent efforts.

Now that most of the concrete work has begun, construction crew members were cleaning surfaces and running wires for power tools.

Workers in safety gear are busy at the construction site near a wooden structure and piles of materials, while a tower of new scaffolding rises impressively. Behind them, a white building stands proudly amid carefully designed landscaping.

Over by the bridge that crosses over the pool, more crew members were carrying a long metal pole. This area is also being used to stage some metal pipes, wood planks, and support beams.

A construction site buzzes with activity near a large white and gray building at Disney’s Yacht Club, featuring multiple sections, scaffolding, and equipment. The scene is framed by a blue sky and a lamppost in the foreground.

Several sections of concrete in the walkways surrounding Stormalong Bay have been removed, exposing the dirt underneath.

A construction site with a windmill structure stands tall, surrounded by workers and materials. The nearby greenery and buildings bask under a clear blue sky, evoking the tranquil charm of Disney's Yacht Club near Stormalong Bay.

The usual white railing that runs around the pool acts as the barrier to prevent guests from entering the construction zone, so a lot of the work is visible to guests on this side.

A building under renovation with a tower of new scaffolding and construction workers. Two adjacent structures boast gabled roofs. Elegant lamp posts stand in the foreground, while flags flutter on poles, reminiscent of Disney’s Yacht Club charm.

Moving over to the hotel buildings nearest to Stormalong Bay, this tall tower has now been covered in metal scaffolding.

Workers in bright gear are on scaffolding set against a cream-colored building resembling Disney’s Yacht Club. A flag is visible atop the tower, adding a touch of charm to the scene.
Similar to the work we saw on the hotel walls during our last update, it appears Disney is using the pool’s closure as an opportunity to also replace the siding on several of the buildings.

Scaffolding surrounds the exterior like a tower of new scaffolding. A worker in a bright yellow vest is visible within the structure, diligently attending to tasks. Above, the sky is clear and blue, painting an idyllic backdrop reminiscent of Stormalong Bay’s tranquility.

Looking up at this structure from the side, we can see where the siding has been removed in one area. The construction crew members are moving up the tower one level at a time.

Scaffolding is set up around a building under construction, with pipes visible below. A worker in safety gear stands under the structure, reminiscent of the meticulous precision you'd find at Disney’s Yacht Club. A clear blue sky stretches endlessly above.
The doorway on the side of this building is also open, providing guests with a look at the work from the interior.

At the construction site, workers in safety gear navigate through a maze of scaffolding that surrounds the tower-like structure. With dirt areas dotted with equipment under a blue sky, it almost feels like being at Disney’s Yacht Club on an ordinary day.

Several crew members were prepping the areas where the siding was removed to receive new siding, while the other group was moving up to tear off the old siding.

A small brown bridge under construction, wrapped in protective plastic and surrounded by scaffolding. Workers in orange vests are around, with tools and equipment visible. In the background, a gray building and white fences suggest proximity to Disney’s Yacht Club.
During the construction process, the handrails along many of the bridges were wrapped in plastic, as were the light posts on this side.

The construction site features a tower of new scaffolding amid partially built structures, plastic coverings, and scattered materials. Trees frame the scene under a clear blue sky, offering a view reminiscent of Disney’s Yacht Club's serene surroundings.

A new section on the opposite end of the bridge has had more concrete removed. The edges of the hole were lined with plastic tarps.

Stone steps with handrails wrapped in blue and brown tarp tape lead the way through rocky surroundings, reminiscent of the rugged charm of Disney's Yacht Club. Towering palm trees sway gently against the clear sky, creating a serene escape.
Finally, more of the metal handrails for entering or exiting sections of Stormalong Bay have been wrapped in brown paper with tape.

The building, resembling Disney’s Yacht Club, is under renovation with scaffolding. Workers in protective gear are busy repainting the white fence. A sign kindly requests pardon for the temporary appearance during this enhancement phase.

Meanwhile, work has also continued on the area beside the resort’s interior hallway. During our last update, the work was mainly focused on the siding around the windows to the right.

Scaffolding, reminiscent of a Tower of New Scaffolding, surrounds the multi-story white house undergoing renovations. To the left stands a tree, while construction materials are scattered in the foreground. It's as if Disney’s Yacht Club lent its elegance to this transformative scene.
The right windows now appear to be mostly finished, and the majority of the work has begun on the building around the corner. All four floors of the building on this side have been covered in scaffolding, as well as the roof of the portico area. The shingles on the roofs have all been removed.

A tower looms behind the construction site, where scaffolding peeks over white barriers. Surrounded by trees and shrubs, the scene unfolds under a partly cloudy sky, with a lamp post standing in the foreground, reminiscent of Disney’s Yacht Club ambiance.
Since work on the building has now extended around the corner, new white construction walls have been added outside by the guest walkway.

Just confirming, if we stay at BCV during Easter, we cannot use Boardwalk pool? How have the quiet pools been at BCV without Stormalong open?
