Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

So we are back from our 5 day trip so here are my thoughts. First, the rooms are nicely rehabbed with fresh paint, new rugs and curtains. Also new chair and ottoman, plus now wall dispensers. No more individual shampoos, conditioners. There are individual soaps,Body lotion, dental kits and shower caps. Needs to ask for more supplies, different than years past where mousekeeping we’re giving things away. No big deal, just a difference.

Now for the lounge: New paint, rugs and furnishings. The beer and wine area at night is now on the extreme left near the big TV, that’s an improvement. Also hot entrees are now in the left instead of laid out on the right. Most importantly there are now hot not lukewarm. Did not see any difference in what was offered but I must say, the Salmon and rice was perfectly done. All the usual offerings from breads, vegetables etc…. Deserts were great and certainly in my option just as good as anything the Cake Bake Shop had to offer, just smaller. The expresso machine broke down for one day and the CM’s offered me credits if I ordered a latte in the Ale and Compress marketplace. Nice touch but I did not need that perk. I also reported since SAB is being rehabbed that CL guest could use the pool at Luna Park ( Boardwalk). YC offered a dedicated shuttle to BWI at the Marina. The pool at YC was never crowded no need to use that perk.
Now to the question that everyone is talking about.: Major work being done at the pool and the external areas of the YC. Roof and siding plus painting. The pool is definitely a work in progress. Definitely going in for months. At least 20 or more workers just for the pool and many more working on the building. They are transporting all the workers to and from the YC. As I reported the work did not bother us. The scaffolding as right outside my balcony working from 9 to 5 everyday. It may bother others but I was not at the hotel from 8 AM to 3PM.
It was one of our better trips. CM’s could not have been more outgoing and were outstanding. I have a bounceback booked for December 2025 YC WV non CL. I could not get a CL room at YC. I booked also for the same dates a CL WV room non bounceback. It’s amazing the difference in price for 7 day 6 night Trip (11K vs 6.5 K) non bounceback vs bounceback). If there are questions please let me know.

thanks for taking the time during your vacation to post!

Wow. Still pretty torn up and lot of work to do. Guess I’m should stop holding out for an early summer YC stay… 😢
It's still March and a lot can happen before summer. I'm heading there tomorrow and obviously know what to expect, but I'll be back in July and I have every reasonable expectation that we'll be hanging out at SAB. The announcement says end of June for completion and I think it's too soon to worry about it going over.

I’m still holding on to my YC for now. I’ll wait to see how things look by early to mid May just on the off chance. I have a good feeling you’ll be fine for July. Hope you have a good trip tomorrow

Yep I agree. All signage here still says end of June and 3 months is a lot of time.

Scaffolding Goes Up as Disney's Yacht Club Undergoes Roof Renovation

Construction is now underway on a roof replacement project at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, so far concentrated on buildings facing Stormalong Bay.

Scaffolding has been installed along a significant portion of the resort’s exterior, particularly around guest rooms closest to the pool area. A large construction wall is in place at ground level, partially enclosing the walkway between the lakefront and the Yacht Club’s entrance.

This roof work comes as the resort already manages the ongoing refurbishment of Stormalong Bay, which is closed through June 2025. The two projects overlap in the same area, with both the pool and portions of the resort exterior now active construction zones.

Disney has not announced a timeline for the roof replacement, but it could seem likely it will be completed around the same time as Stormalong Bay this summer. Guest access remains available to the Yacht Club lobby and adjacent areas, though walkways may be rerouted near the lakefront.

We stopped by this morning and watched as the Disney Culinary Team carefully lifted the giant, hand-crafted eggs into position. Each piece is intricately detailed and created entirely from chocolate and other edible materials.
