Resort Thread Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE

Does anyone have previous dates of when the Christmas tree is up. Looking to see if I can line it up with a pre cruise stay.
I made this little list in order to see if there was a correspondence between when the tree went up and when Thanksgiving was that particular year. Good luck! It seems they have moved away from mid-November to the 20’s in the last few years.

Here are the previous dates the Christmas decor went up at The Lodge followed by the Thanksgiving date that year.

2018: 11/20 TG 11/22

2019: 11/19 TG 11/28

2020: 11/12 TG 11/26

2021: 11/11 TG 11/25

2022: 11/22 TG 11/24

2023: 11/21 TG 11/23

2024: Put up on the 20th overnight, woke up to it on 11/ 21, TG 11/28

should i book standard view room or is it really worth the extra for water view? any advise greatly received
Are you the type to spend time at the resort on your balcony or are you more focused on the Parks, and other activities and only would use the balcony for a short period at night?

Then I would save the money, and spend it for other things at WDW. Just a reminder Standard view is now part of the Resort view category.

Do you think the construction of the villas, should put us off staying here in Aug this year? {not sure how close they are)

No the Cooper Creek (CCV) is not a major rebuild but a room refresh.

The Cooper Creek Villas are the south half of the WL. Think of the resort building as a large U shape where the main building is at the bottom of the U and two legs point out to Bay lake with rooms that extend all the way to the end of the 2 wings.

The CCV room work starts mid-May and is scheduled to be complete by September. There is an additional benefit, there will be fewer guests at the lodge during this work.

It’s all lottery based - you just never know what position any hotel is gunna pull for that year…the only thing you can count on is that all WDW hotels and DVC resorts will be decorated by Thanksgiving.
