Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend 2025

It works; thank you so much! It's so much easier to see this here than on their release. Interesting that the route will go down to Garden Grove this time. Anyone see if they've released 10K and 5K maps yet? Haven't seen anything yet.
They haven't. For some reason they've been doing these previews for the longest distance races on social media, then when the guide is ready you see the maps for the shorter ones. I don't know how they'll handle the guide for this weekend since WDW is a few weeks earlier.

No and I honestly don't think there will be too many differences with the later. They might make some alterations here and there but there is only so much alterations you can make to a course. Especially with the 5k which is in the parks almost the whole time. You only have so much wiggle room for changes.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the things they did with the half show up with the 10. But with the 5k who knows.

Looks good, thanks for the fix!

Man that second stage just looks so blocky.
The overall course is actually less blocky than 2024. But yeah that second half is definitely more of that. Some of those spikes I suspect are crossing tracks because those usually have a bit of an incline.

Waiting patiently for the 10K/5K courses....

Side question: I am trying to sign the waiver for my dad. He's not a complete trogladyte, but...it's close. He does have an email address, but no Disney account, no Smart Phone, no apps, no runDisney account.

From what I am going to tell....I am going to have to set up a runDisney account for him, that he will never use, that I will have to log into to complete all the documentation. And then, when there in person, I will have to be pulling both accounts up via my phone. This seems like a lot of extra work, when we could just leave everything under my account. But...it won't let me sign his waiver.

Thoughts?

You'll only need screenshots of the check-in passes (which you'll get the week of the races) so it shouldn't be much hassle on the day of

As @Naomeri pointed out, screen shots will work. But also he can sign the waiver on-site. Every international runner has to do this, and lots of others who have technical issues. They have loads of them printed out and ready to sign -- just takes a minute. Once you're at the pick-up window, you usually only need your ID.

But...I would still have to create an account for him though, is what I am hearing?

I'm pretty disappointed in the 5K course. I am happy that we still get to run through both parks.

But no Radiator Springs and no Toontown are HUGE blows for me. Those were both in the Top 5 of my list of things I would hope with the course.

Between last year's Half-Marathon weekend and the Halloween weekend, I would say this course is a pretty big downgrade.

Also, is it just me or does the HM get *less* park time than the 10K? Is that normal? 10K gets several areas of the parks that HM skips. Here's what I see - first, in DCA: running up Cars Land, around Incredicoaster/Paradise Pier, GRR and Soarin', Avengers Campus, Hollywood Land. Then in DLP, the HM skips Adventureland and Tomorrowland, though they get a direct path through Galaxy's Edge rather than going backstage and get to run through the castle.

This will be my first runDisney event, and I picked the 10k specifically because so many people loved the course last year. I was thinking about the HM in the future, but unless they make significant changes to the HM course map in the future, it'll definitely be a pass for me.

My first thought with these courses is that I wonder if Avengers Campus construction is impacting what they can do here. This year both the 10k and half went through that backstage area in the southeast, next year they’re both taking different routes that make it look like they’re avoiding a part of it, the half doesn’t go backstage in that area at all. Same deal with WDW changes at MK.

Forgot that we had the 5k Halloween hit 1 mile at the castle. Never mind that costern

I wonder if wheels have anything to do with this since we know the red trolley doesn’t stop until post race. And 8 tracks was a nightmare and damage waiting to happen for us.

I am off to docs but I’ll see about trying to do a MMR for the new routes for the 5 and 10 when I’m done

The one big change on the 10k I don't like is not running through Sleeping Beauty Castle. There's an approach on the front right before mile 4 from the south, and then another approach at like mile 4.2 from the back, but both times, the course is like "ha ha! no!"

Does look like the new half course fully exits DL at least a half mile sooner, a decent chunk of that probably due to taking the north part of the Pixar Pier "lake" instead of the usual route. I *like* the half, I like all these courses, I can forgive the non-park portion because they can't really do these races any other way, and I know they can't do much about entertainment outside the parks, but it's a little tougher sell this time.

I guess the good news is I've heard good things about how flat the new non-park portion is?

I think they went for that so they could the entirety of DL in because the 10k mapped almost every possible corner of the parks we can get to it appears. With the exception of the rebel area of GE and the path from the wharf to RSR. And idk if they could have mapped it the same way unless they wanted to change entrances for us to keep the castle.

I do feel sorry for the people doing only the 10k. Though I do think This is definitely going to be the gold standard for race courses in terms of park time. Even with the loss of the castle

Well looks like someone posted the guide too early or someone broke something: 1735338028450.png
Its doing it for all 3 races.

Off to Facebook to find the maps.
