Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend 2025

Warning because I just saw this but if we get the same park route we got in September then that means we will be going out through where the tracks for the backstage are. There are about 8 intersections here. Watch your ankles.

Also just realized ticket event dates are out. Theres a Sweetheart Nights on the 28th and the 4th if anyone is interested in that.

We're going pretty light on dining reservations this trip. We have a late Lamplight Lounge lunch for six of us on Friday and then Saturday my mom and I are doing Napa Rose Chef's Counter to celebrate me finishing the 5k and 10k/my birthday. I'm very excited that Lunar New Year is overlapping with this trip! The booths were pretty good last year and I'll have more time to try everything instead of attempting to eat everything in a day.
I'm excited that Lunar New Year overlaps as well! The pics and videos looked so cool last year and I've never gotten to go.

I would operate under the assumption that there is no change to the start and finish at this point. For the January races they sent out an email in October announcing the new start and finish locations, I suspect because people assumed that the start area was going to be where it was before covid and booked hotels accordingly. Needless to say the announcement was annoying for some people and great for people who had booked hotels close to that lot.
So first time runner at DL here and trying to get my head wrapped around how things work for runDisney event. Am I to understand correctly that the Start/Finish for the DL HM in January is on Disney Way?

Can one use Disney Gift Cards toward merch purchase on the runDisney website?

Yes, that is correct. Here's a screen shot of the map from my half start last January

It's not official until they release the maps but you should operate under the assumption that yes, that's how it'll go. There's a lot nearby that they use for the Start/Finish village, when I did this in January I walked from the Castle Inn over to Clementine, where they had security and then to the start village, then they funnel people into the corrals on Disney Way.

Thank you, kinda works out for me as I am staying at the Grand Legacy.

Where does one normally pick up runner bib and I'm assuming merch?
You'll get emails from runDisney leading up to the events that tell you all you'll need to know. A few weeks out, they'll post the digital event guide as well. Here's the event guide for the WDW Marathon Weekend that came out last week: https://www.rundisneyexpo.run/

Obviously this information is for Disney World and an entirely different weekend, but it will give you an idea of what it will include and how it will work. You can keep an eye on this page for the link to go live for your weekend: https://www.rundisney.com/events/disneyland/disneyland-half-marathon-weekend/runner-info/

DL half course was posted to IG, hard to tell how it looks bc of how it’s flipped for the vid but looks like entrance to GE is handled differently this time. No Angels Stadium, which is not a surprise if you’re aware of the events they hold in January.

On one hand the freaking tram tunnels back.
On other hand no more Ball Hill.

We're going south this time which is a surprise I will say. I know one of the old DL races went south (Star Wars?) so it's not too much of a surprise.

Also that's a completely new route. New way of navigating the parks. I haven't seen us do DCA twice in a long time like I remember ducking in and out at least for a few races but that was at the end of the race. Vaguely remember stopping with a Tron stage show for a photo. So it would have been whatever year that was running. (2011/2012 looks like).

And the old southbound course did a different section of Anaheim. So this is going to be fairly uncharted territory.

Other than the tram tunnel this could be prime PR course for anyone wanting to try it. Going to map it on MapMyRun since I want to know what were getting into.

Honestly like that they've gone with a whole new course. Nice way to separate it from Halloween.

Also calling it now because there’s no other reason otherwise. This spot is going to have Photopass set up for runners coming throughIMG_2019.jpeg

Made the route on MapMyRun. I am aware the mileage is off. i followed the Instagram posting as close as I could. I don't know entirely why there's the descripency. But anyway: https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/6361536715/

For reference here is the 2024 course: https://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/5882341894

This new course has almost 70 foot less elevation gain in part thanks to the loss of Ball Hill.

Not going to miss that or the Santa Ana.
Thank you! It looks the permission isn't set properly to share, though - I get a "permission denied" error for both maps.

Ah whoops give me five. I was worried I might have done it but didn’t see any indicator of it on my end
